What do Cat's Eyes mean to you?

Re: Cat's Eyes

In the UK, with true wild cats mainly eliminated (mainly due to misunderstandings about Wolves), cats eyes were the road marking that lit up unilluminated roads, to guide the motorist (traveller). A cats eyes can operate in nocturnal vision with 1/6th of the sensitivity of the human eye.

So to me, they mean using basic animal properties to traverse the dark. (Our lower, animal self, which need not be eradicated, as our dark side is an integral part of our consciousness).  The after life is not all good, even though that is what we strive for. Re: Cat's Eyes

I have five cats (duh  smile and their eyes are so beautiful.  I've never seen colors like that.  For instance, my brown/black tabby cat has emerald green eyes outlined with gold.  My black/grey tabby has pure mint green eyes.  My orange and ginger cats have beautiful golden eyes.   And they look at me they way I  as a human look at anyone or anything with my eyes.  They speak.   And they know.

Re: Cat's Eyes

As I mentioned in my introduction, my cat's name is Ziggy.  First  I must give a little brief preview about this cat.  I had always liked animals but never had a real affinity for them to speak of.  They were ok and I enjoyed them and then I got Ziggy.  He was white with some red patches, and one red patch on the top of his head made him look like it was hair.   His eyes were gold and his face shape was very stream lined and arrow dynamic -- not like the cats that have a squared face.    He changed the way I looked at animals completely.  He was love wrapped up in fur.  Him  and I had a complete psychic connection which is something I don't tell people generally but I figure it's ok on this board.      When I laid down he'd lay on my chest and get his love fix and then just pour it back into me.  He got me through the roughest 17 years of my life.

Now,   about his eyes.....

One time as he laid on my chest  I was petting his head and I took his little thin narrow face and kind of gently petting I pulled the hair back behind his ears.
It looked so funny because his face and his eyes looked like  those alien pictures you see at the grocery story counter magazines with the big eyes and thin faces.     When someone new came over I'd jokingly pet his hair, pulling it back behind his ears and introduce him as my alien cat.    It always got a lot of laughs because everyone has seen those alien pictures I'm talking about.

He was a good alien no doubt about it.  smile

too bad he's not alive or I'd take a picture of it and post it on this thread.

Hear, hear. I have two lovely boys--Manny, a longhaired gray tabby with eyes that are tan (!) to match certain patches of his beautiful coat, and Hector, my sinuous black "entity" with vivid chartreuse eyes (he's utterly psychic). They're my little guardians. smile

You're right, 5c, they can see right into you.

I totally understand why the Egyptians venerated them with the goddess Bastet.

Re: Cat's Eyes

ABOUT THE CATS, when i was 12 years old a homelesscat, just out of nowhere, started going to my house alot, then weeks after she had babies, since i didn't know she was pregnant i thought she was getting fat because i was feeding her. Her babies and her stayed in the backyard and when they started walking, i don't know how but they manage to get inside the house, directly to my room!, so they woke me up everytime, in my bed,so what i had to do everynight was, getting them, go to the back door and take them outside, i'm not a cat person, but i decided to live them in the house, just in the back door. Anyways, one night it was like 8:00pm, when i was watching tv in my room, i heard like someone was trowing little rocks at my window, i thought it was my friends just trying to scare me, i looked outside no one was there, that when on for about 30minutes, then i realize it wasn't my friends because 30minutes com'on, it was cold outside and if it was a joke it wouldn't last 30min, so i got scare i thought it was someone trying to kidnapp me or something. Told my dad, he didn't find anyone outside.
as hours past i was asleep already when i heard this cats in my dream:rolleyes:, "UGH the cat's are in my room again"!, I just open my eyes, and two cat's where next to me, a white one in my right side, and a black one in my lefts side, when i tried to get them, they dissapear in my hands, i couldn't feel them, i got the white one first, and just dissapear, then the other one, SO WEIRD!!! then i looked in front of me and there was this black shadow, right in front of my bed, he was just staring at me, it had no face!, i thought it was the death, couse he looked like it was wearing that black gown, i started praying to my angel, and i don't know i just didn't feel scare that much and didn't scream or anything, i wanted to fight,:). i turn on the light and looked back, and this thing or whatever it was, was gone.
           so i wouldn't have cat's as pets, i'm sorry....
p.s
the house had a bad history, everybody keep telling me that the house was hounted, I BELIEVE IT NOW! alot of weird stuff happend to me and my family, i was not the only one experiencing things.

one last thing, i don't like to look at the eyes cat, i think it's scary, i don't like them, i'm sorry for those who love cat's, i'm just giving my experience and opinion...

EVERYBODY WANTS TO GO TO HEAVEN, BUT NOBODY WANTS TO DIE!

Re: Cat's Eyes

yikes we found about 10 BLACK CATS  THAT NIGHT!!! my brothers and i were so scare, we went home, almost running, but i'm wondering why? and why all black? coinsidene?  neutral
                                         WHY IN THE WORLD ME???:(

REPTILIANS

(Strange how people haven't mentioned this yet)

Re: Cat's Eyes

Blue, that is crazy people would cut out their eyes and use as reflectors?! I don't see how that would even work... I've seen dead cat's eyes, they glaze over like most dead things eyes and don't reflect any more after a while.
"So to me, they mean using basic animal properties to traverse the dark. (Our lower, animal self, which need not be eradicated, as our dark side is an integral part of our consciousness). " - That's a very interesting way to look at. I like that!

Ziggy that's a cute story about your cat. I think kitties can be awesome creatures ^___^ I have a cat named Felix (yeah he's black and white marked just like Felix The Cat), he just came up to me out of nowhere one day when I was outside and hasn't left me since.

It's odd people mentioning "Reptilian"...Felix used to kill snakes in my yard then lay them on my porch like some sort of sacrifice to his mistress (me) wink

I don't really see any reptilian similarities other than them having the pupils but then again their pupils are like that for a reason; to help them see in dark...but I ask though, and I find it kind of odd/ironic the "reptilian" answers I am getting because a loooooong time ago, I had a dream once that a gypsy told me my soul mate had cat's eyes. I told her "No, he has dragon's eyes" (because at the time I was with a guy who had these eyes that were fire speckled with a golden ring around the pupils). She looked at me like she was disappointed, like I was missing something very important, and says "NO! HE HAS CATS EYES!". The rest of the dream (which entails a lot of details and is rather depressing and chaotic, so I won't get into it) ended up coming true, I guess prophetic in a sense, so I am still trying to figure out what the cat's eyes thing means. I even watched Cat's Eye by Stephen King and read Cat's Eyes by Margaret Atwood and still don't get it other than the fact that I've met a guy recently who has very icey blue eyes just like his siamese cat and I feel like I am falling deeply in love with him so maybe the gypsy was trying to tell me I was with the wrong guy....

Sorry if I just confused the crap out of everyone, I think I just confused myself.

But I find all of your ideas and comments very interesting. Thank you for sharing them with me!!!!

!

Maybe the gypsy mistook Felix as your soul mate  in which case......   hmmmmmm......

Now, the pros and cons of having a cat as a soul mate over a man are myriad.
There are likely more similarities to cats and men than we'd like to admit.
Cats rarely come when you call them.... unless you say you have food.
on the other hand,  men rarely come when you call them unless you say you have sex,  so delete that similarity.

This sounds like I'm being sexist but really I'm not,  I'm just joking.
