Re: So, what does your NR handle name mean anyway?
That's
. Here's a couple links about the origin of mine:
www.gps.caltech.edu/~mbrown/sedna/ - 35k
http://www.hvgb.net/%7Esedna/story.html
There's alot more images to gather...doing a
an image search of "Sedna" bring up many
great Inuit carvings and other media which are fascinating.
More to do there. Links at the bottom of the first one
here have much more about the mythology. I find the
confluence of a planetary body and a goddess of the sea
to be evocative of some mystic force combining ancient/modern/techno/shamanstuff
an' all those gooey goodies!
"Hail Great Sedna
Old Food Basket of the Deep, bountiful and fierce
She Who is the powerful bringer of food and storms
She Who commands Seal, Walrus, Whales and Polar Bear
Sedna of the Northern Deep, Mother of the Sea's creatures
Creatrix Who sustains the Inuit
She Who swims in the Icy Ocean
She Who is Guardian of All who honor Her
Sedna, strong abundant Hag of the Sea."
