Topic: So, what does your NR handle name mean anyway?

This is one of those things I've wondered about for a long time but never got around to asking, or thought maybe somebody else would start the thread.  Sometimes there are cryptic handles that are hard to prounounce, or something that seems like a nonsensical jumble of words and numbers, but which you know must mean something important to the poster.   So for fun, that's the question...What does you NR handle name mean?  And what was the inspiration behind it?

I'll start with mine...lyra, believe it or not, isn't in homage to aliens in lyra.  big_smile  But it does have to do with the constellation.  I picked the name out of an Astronomy magazine years ago, thought it was pretty and *lyr*ical. wink  So when it came time to choose a name for NR, I chose that.  I had no idea at the time about channeled material from space aliens in lyra, so in retrospect, with what I know now, I would not use that name.  !  Gives people the wrong impression, and it's also been confused with the Operation Terra "Lyara" woman.  If I could go back and choose a new name I'd simply use my real name - Carissa.  oh well.  Hindsight and all that good stuff.

So, what about everybody else?  What does your name mean, and where did it come from?

Re: So, what does your NR handle name mean anyway?

Cute thread idea!  I've often wondered about those handles myself.

Mine has two different sources, depending on how you look at it.  Lono is my favorite female sugar glider, and her cute little mug is my avatar.  However, her name originally came from the Huna term for the conscious mind, Lono.  Incidentally, one of my males is named "Ku," which is the Huna name for subconscious.

Re: So, what does your NR handle name mean anyway?

Mine has an interesting story... When I was just getting into "woo-woo" subjects, I developed a case of pseudonym envy. The occult writers all had one.
(I was later to learn that they were initiatory mottoes)

Anyway, I decided to insolently "test my god" (I was officially an atheist, so it wasn't so insolent in intent) and decided to draw letters randomly, thinking "if anything does guide us along, let it manifest in the randomization!"

I assigned the values of a runic alphabet, elder futhark I believe, to cards and drew 8 times.

Z, G, I, S, Th, M, I, Th

Damned unpronouncable and I didn't like both "thetas" in the latter half. I exchanged the final one with the "S" and was content.

ZGITh ThMIS

I transliterated to hebrew to get numbers out of it, and improvised the pronunciation to "Zejith Themis". I didn't remember what goddess Themis was at the time, but it was cool anyway. And Themis (Egyptian Maat, Roman Iustitia) has something of the search for truth to it.

Qabalistically, however, it's beyond cool. It has turned out to be the "gift that keeps on giving" big_smile

ZGITh = 420 = HADITh (see liber AL);  ChBITh (vessel); A'aShN (vapor, smoke), et al.
ThMIS = 510 = Ma'aTh (egyptian Themis) ; IShR (rectitude); RISh (head); ShIR (song), et al.

oh, and many more... Greek isopsephy has more, too... ex. 420+510=930= Phoinikos (Phoenix) cool

And plus it sounds like a cool old-testament type name. Somewhere between Zebulon and Aemeth...  wink

Re: So, what does your NR handle name mean anyway?

There's nothing particularly inspirational or mystical about mine I'm afraid. I just drink the stuff by the bucketful, much to the amusement & disgust of the kids I work with (euuurgh!...what the f*** is that?!!) who accuse me of necking anything from seaweed, compost, or more often than not ganja (marijuana) tea.

One lad was so curious about the latter I gave him a pinch of dry leaves to roll up in one of his 'cigarettes'. Needless to say, he wasn't impressed with the results lol But that's another story...

One cheeky little girl insists on calling me Green Tea whenever she's in, so the name has stuck.

I'm looking for a Mr T (A-Team) avatar, which I think would go quite well with the name cool

Re: So, what does your NR handle name mean anyway?

My handle was basically just something I came up with as I sat there, staring at the register form. big_smile So no big occult secrets with this one, either, hehe. What it actually means should be pretty self-evident (on track 24 hrs, more or less).

The only thing that can be said to have a 'deeper' meaning to me, is the 24, it adds up to 6 which features heavily in my birthdate, june 26th.

Re: So, what does your NR handle name mean anyway?

Cool stories everybody.  Admittedly I was especially curious about Zejith_Themis.  It's a tongue twister!  And I was definitely curious about Lono, so it's nice having the story behind that.

I've seen people on NR all day long and nobody else has posted their handle info.   Bah to you all!  haha  I mean, what's a Poffo or a Thook?  And who IS the Magical_Mongoose anyway?  wink  SiriArc?  Good god, what does it meeeeeeaaaaaaaaaan!!!!!!  There's a lot of curious handles, and inquiring minds want to know!

Re: So, what does your NR handle name mean anyway?

Good thread!  I'm curious too about some of these handles I see day after day.

Mine is just a name that has stuck with me awhile.  Way way back when I was trying to decide what email address I wanted, the name "plasticportal" jumped out at me.  I think a lot of it too had to be my state of mind at the time.  The previous night was the first time I had tried LSD (which, btw, I will never do it again and wouldn't encourage anybody to try knowing what I know now!)  It probably made me hypersuggestable in the state I was in, so I don't take a lot of credit for the name.  It was probably the work of some clever entity that was passing through me at that moment.  Regardless, the name stuck.

In a weird way, that moment marked the second major phase of my life though.  That's probably why I've kept it around.

Doc: Marty, you're not thinking fourth dimensionally!
Marty McFly: Yeah, I know, I got a real problem with that.

Re: So, what does your NR handle name mean anyway?

When I first got the internet I downloaded a whole bunch of Bob Marley songs, and being very uncreative during registration at serveral forums, lol, I was browsing the list of Marley songs and Natural Mystic sounded cool.

Sometimes I wonder if our alias' have a deeper meaning.  Like in the matrix everyone had different names in the real world, or in X-men when Magnito is talking to Pyro and asks his name, and Magnito is all like "What is your real name?"

Actually come to think of it, I told someone today my name was natural mystic.  hehe wink

But my real name is Kalu and it means god of thunder in it's african roots.  It's pretty cool too. tongue

A wonderful book by Sylvia Plath called The Bell Jar.

Re: So, what does your NR handle name mean anyway?

My handle just represents the spirit of light and truth and beginnings ... purity and positivity.

A few months after choosing the nickname, I found out that the concept of a brand "new day" is a very important occult catch-phrase that is being used all over the place by secret societies to refer to the beginning of the New World Order.    It's all over the place now.  Celine Dion has a new CD out called "New Day."   Microsoft is using the phrase "New Day" to promote Windows Vista.   And there are quite a lot of other uses out there as well.

So I guess like so many symbols, it can be used for either positive or negative.    But I think it's a powerful and important one.

Hey, Sensei!  My husband used to be a Sensei as well.  He taught Jujutsu.  What is it you practice and teach?  It looks like Jujitsu to my untrained eye.

Re: So, what does your NR handle name mean anyway?

I hadn't looked at Stuart Wilde's website in awhile, but thanks to a reminder today from Lyra I decided to go through some of his articles again and see what I might find to be of interest.

Here is one I came across, which I think is very fitting for me to post here:

The New Sunrise

Stuart Wilde

December 21st, 2005

The Winter Solstice heralds the birth of the new sun. It's a powerful time, the old can be set aside and a new affirmation made. I said back in the mid 90s that the world would spit into two evolutions, one that was regressive and fundamentalist, elitist and violent, and one that was open and spiritual and inclusive of others rather than exclusive.

The Morph phenomena that looks like swirls of dry mist in a room is getting stronger and stronger, thousands have seen it now and it is beginning to expose the dark recesses of the human shadow as well as showing us a host of transdimensional beings that are around us all of the time. That is why those photos of flying orbs are very common nowadays.

So we'll see the closed parabola of regressive energy brought out into the open, which is why there are so much exposé in the media of torture and mistreatment, corruption and state-sponsored violence. Tyranny is not protected as well as before all manner of darkness is popping out.

Humanity has to see its evil and own it, and each decides if he or she will regress or open up and progress. We are on a cusp. You can stay in the conflict or you can walk away, you can embrace love and kindness or you can chose elitism and separation. A warm knife is slicing through the soul of our humanity dividing the warm humans from the ones that are elitist, cold and corrupt. It will cause is shudder in our human evolution–a shiver, like the way a deer shivers in the forest when it is scared; this etheric shudder will shake out humanity, just as cream separates from the rest of the milk. It is utterly mesmerizing to watch for one could say that the last judgment has begun but it is at a very deep level where it can hardly be seen. .

The emphasis is not so much crime and punishment it is more a verdict based on heat or a lack of heat. You will not be judge on your achievements or your conquests or even how many children you successfully raised, in the end it is only the warmth of your heart that counts. Were you fair or cruel, kind or mean, warm or cold? Coldness is silent hatred. It is a terrible blot on your soul from which you will never escape unless you agree to let go and warm up.
