Hey, everyone!! Tom updated his music track list!! My favorite new one is 'Shine by Edenbridge' IMO.

You're right, I didn't need that 'IMO'. Tom's site talks to me, I'm serious.. It's written so well that it actually seems like it knows me.. Creepy and metaphysically awesome.

`Wish Tom didn't use fileden's host though.. It lags in loading and sometimes cut off from the track.

Ooh nooo!!! I just found this forum, and it ends- like a shutting door in my face. Like finding a great party and it ends and everyone is going home.:(
Well i´m not going to sit down and cry, there is still plenty of more material to read and montalk.net is still around.
Thanks Tom, you´ve been a great guide to fringe knowledge.

For you Scandinavians (and of course others)there is ashtarcommand.net, i´m there under the same name.

I hope that montalk, and lyra, and many others will join in the discussions at the new NobleDreams.

Re: Announcement: NR Forum Closing on Feb 22nd, 2008

Hi there.

I´m pretty new to this forum, but not to the subjects discussed. I think it´s sad that its closing down, now that I just got signed up.

I also signed up to the Noble dreams forum. After doing that I started thinking about some of the posts ive read on some of the threads here.
I strongly feel that moving on is a good thing for you who has been involved deep into this. There is no way that the new forum can be as good as this one, it will merely be a bleak copy.
Surely it´s a good thing to have somewhere to exchange thoughts and keep up with each others progress, but trying to create an artificial substitute will not gain anything for anyone.

You are like birds leaving the nest for the first time, Metaphorically speaking ( but way stronger)
Accept it and go on.

Im not writing this to attempt anyone from not joining Noble dreams. I did it myself and will probaly check it out from time to time. But I felt it was important to share my views about this.

Re: Announcement: NR Forum Closing on Feb 22nd, 2008

I definitely get your point, Metaphor. My thought upon reading your post was that many of the regular (long time) contributors in here, might be better off "leaving the nest" as you put it, while maybe the Noble Dreams forum can be an excellent opportunity for people who never got the opportunity to take part in this community, to get their 'shot' at creating a new one (tho it depends on certain variables).

It's already been touched upon in another post I saw in NR, forgot where I read it or who posted it, but this guy wrote that he was slightly uncomfortable in contributing (posting here), due to his perspective or feeling that he had "less valuable" input than many of the other regular contributors. A sort of variation of a "lack of self confidence" or that ones knowledge does not hold up, compared to many of the "high flying" members of this forum. I'm aware that this got a lot to do with personal perspective, but I must admit I've had some of the same feelings myself. It's not that my input is less valuable... It's more about not having a 100% overview over whats been discussed before, and really not feeling 100% part of the group in a manner -- not aware of the M.O. of posting here, sort of. Almost like I'm afraid of starting to talk about something which would be akin to having a propagandized speech for capitalism in Soviet Moscow, or something... Of course, most of us have moved faaaar past the typical "whats politically correct" mentality, but unfortunately I percieved *hints* of the same, limiting attitudes that's behind the justification of P.C. thinking in here - it's a little hard to describe, and this aspect of NR is NOT very noticeable really. It's not a HUGE concern for me, but I'm just pointing out I've gotten "hints" of that feeling during my time here.

I haven't really contributed with my (free flowing) spiritual thoughts and theories in this forum, as much as commenting others' posts and threads. The reason of course being much the same as the one i described (as well as not being able to express parts of my thoughts 100% in english, or at least with clear cut language).

This is not to put down Noble Realms, I value both it, and several of the regular posters quite highly. The purpose of posting this is just to point out that both newcomers, as well as several others who never really shared their thoughts freely here (at all times), will have a new chance to do so with this ND forum. It's also a chance to build a new 'version' of this community, so comparing it *directly* to NR probably isn't right, even despite it copying a lot of the NR look, etc.

IOW, it's a "homage" to NR that will still be its own creation, in time, I think. All this only valid if the ND forum achieves a minimum level of activity though. I'll be sure to check it out and also become a member after NR goes, but haven't done so yet.

Re: Announcement: NR Forum Closing on Feb 22nd, 2008

I just look at Noble Dreams as a continuation of time with kindred folks that still have a lot to say to each other. No its not going to be the same, and its shouldnt.  We're just kinda hanging at that big bar at the end of the galaxy!

Re: Announcement: NR Forum Closing on Feb 22nd, 2008

Thanks for getting my point "ontrack24". I´m also glad you evolved it a little, your feeling really matches up to mine.
Yes it´s true that it´s time for us "newcommers"/ "silent ones" to get going, perhaps in another direction/ version than in the past NR forum, when we hit the ND forum (or elsewhere). Ashtarcommand.net is an excellent choice for us Scandinavians to network in. I can be found under the same name there.

The future is indeed very exciting...
