Tom = Timeless Legend.

Any way for us to keep in touch? Anyone got another forum for people to use or anyone using msn?

Hi Everbright, blue, one of the posters here at NR has set up a new forum, a spin-off of Noble Realms, called Noble Dreams.  The setup is pretty much the same as this one, with the addition of a couple of new topics.  It's awesome, I really like it so far!  You really should check it out!  The link for it is: http://www.nobledreams.co.uk/punbb/pun/upload/index.php

The same moral code that applies here, also applies there too.  big_smile

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for initiating and maintaining this forum.  The integrity of it has impressed over the years -- I don't believe I've encountered anything else like it.  But, yes, the time for private networking is here.

When I heard the announcement my first thought was to post this video…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErD45_Xy … re=related
…but it didn’t seem quite right.  Close, but not quite.  Then I thought about posting this one…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vou4qUu5YY
…but it didn’t seem quite right either.  Again it was close, but not quite.

Then a couple nights ago I read this…

J.R.R. Tolkien wrote:

In all the days of the Third Age, after the fall of Gil-galad, Master Elrond abode in Imladris, and he gathered there many Elves, and other folk of wisdom and power from among all the kindreds of Middle-earth, and he preserved through many lives of Men the memory of all that had been fair; and the house of Elrond was a refuge for the weary and the oppressed, and a treasury of good counsel and wise lore.  In that house were harboured the Heirs of Isildur, in childhood and old age, because of the kinship of their blood with Elrond himself, and because he knew in his wisdom that one should come of their line to whom a great part was appointed in the last deeds of that Age.  And until that time came the shards of Elendil’s sword were given into the keeping of Elrond, when the days of the Dunedain darkened and they became a wandering people.

…and it feels right.  So I’m posting it.

Noble Realms was a godsend for me as I’m sure it has been for many, many people through the years.  In my most humble estimation, it has served (and will continue to serve) as a shining example of STO manifest in the highest order.  To anyone whom these words appear aggrandizing, I assure you they are not.  In fact, to my mind they are sorely lacking.  It has been both an honour and a privilege to have played a role, however small, in this fine “experiment”.  A thousand thank you’s plus one could not fully convey the extent of my gratitude but hopefully this will suffice…

I only had time to be a member here for a short while but thank you all so much!! I feel we should all the same keep in contact as long as we can because I fear that this year might bring such enormous changes globally that I fear there might not be a possibility to communicate via Internet after some time or only occasionally if we're lucky. If someone knows of an IRC network and channel where we could communicate, I'd be grateful.

With much love and appreciation,

Solan,

Something about February...

I hoped that the strange staleness I felt would pass, but Tom is right. The season this forum bloomed in is long past.

The mark of a great moderator is discernment, patience, and wisdom. A good moderator allows the forum to seem as if it doesn't need a moderator at all. Tom, thank you for inviting us to participate in this experiment, this discussion, this realm you've created. You have done a great service, and I thank you deeply for your discernment.

The mark of a great enterprise is knowing when to move on.

So Long and Thanks

Thanks also to everyone who ever contributed something positive to this forum. You were the reason people continued to return.

Zenden, thank you for posting this. Fascinating, as always, and also gave me an idea. What if NobleRealms was just one stage of the Lesson? Would you really want to keep returning back to "8th grade" or would you want to graduate to the "University"?

And z3n3rg, I am eternally grateful for the music that you shared with me in the IRC chat. You introduced me to so much great music, all of which I still have and listen to, not the least of which is The Flaming Lips. I can't find it right now, but thanks to whoever posted the "Do You Realize??" video to this thread. Just beautiful. And z3n3rg, I hope to exchange music with you again sometime. My library is always open. smile

And wandering1, thank you very much for those links!

Montalk

I've got a book to write, physical networks to form, website to overhaul, and some other tricks up my sleeve. The decision was made on one condition, that whatever is lost by closing the forum will be more than doubly compensated for everyone, in the big picture and long run, by whatever comes next. You'll just have to hang in there and see.

And we all eagerly await that!
I hope this includes the ability to comment on articles posted at Montalk.net. smile

Tom, on Feb 23, could you turn on postcount so we can really see how many posts everyone really had? It would be an interesting treat for everyone.

I wonder if you really did sit at the foot of Plato...

Thank you
Thank you
Thank you all.

I know I'll see you all later.

Re: Announcement: NR Forum Closing on Feb 22nd, 2008

The night before Tom's announcement to close NR  i 'met' him and CC in a dream.  It was warm and gracious and Tom spoke to me, it seemed, in a strong accent.  I forget everything he said except....... "42".   On awakening it was a symbol i couldn't work out except that i had once read, in the "Hitch hikers guide to the galaxy" that the 'meaning of life' is 42.  They were being silly of course.

After reading your hearty post LightningEye, i can think of one other interpretation for 42.  In the "Book of Revelation" it speaks of a time of tribulation being "a time, times and half a time".  This symbol is also found in the Ritual of the Tomb in the Great Pyramid (Kings Chamber).  The initiate lies in the tomb while the other participants of the ritual circumambulate the tomb three and a half times. (a time, times and half a time).  This represents what the soul has been through in materiality.  It is a resurrection initiation and (if i remember correctly) the initiate is left in the tomb for three and a half days. (The initiate enters the tomb as man and emerges MORE than man).  One interpretation of  the "time, times and half a time" in Revelation (and the ancient Resurrection Ritual which Revelation is derived from) is that it symbolises a collosal period of time (counted in manvantaras) which our souls have been 'trapped' in the tomb of matter.  That exile from the higher realms has been "a time of tribulation".  The "womb" of mother--matter--has become a "tomb" for the soul because it is vibrationally trapped in the "dead karmic body" of lower- selfhood.  The resurrection of the energies of the lower- self allow the soul unfettered freedom to rise from all attachment to materiality (rebirth) and soon ascend into the light of spirit.

42 months = 3.5 years = a time, times and half a time.

For so many, NR has been a revelation and a celebration of who we are, where we have been, and where we are going.... a preparation (if you will have my christic terms) for the resurrection and the ascension.

Re: Announcement: NR Forum Closing on Feb 22nd, 2008

For loud number sychs, see the time of my last post.  And see the time of my edit.

And speaking of "time" i feel that NR has brought souls together from past associations where many of us have known each other for ages.  Not just the tens of thousands of years on Atlantis and Lemuria, but ages before that.  This forum has been an opportunity to distill the truth and falsehood of our "tribulation"...... our sojourn in matter since the beginning, as time is counted..... since our "time" of troubles began..... And to share them her at NR during a much tighter cycle of tribulation. Cycles within cycles of time, accelerating the karmic resolution within ourselves and between us here at the Noble Realms.  We will meet in higher realms more noble.  If you get there before me, don't forget me.  If i get ther first, i won't forget you.

We    = Soul

Shall  = Shell

Over  = Raise and transmute the shell

Come = Home to Spirit

ps:  Just saw your post Titmouse.  Recheck your numbers my good man.  If you will check your numbers i will check mine.

BECAUSE MINE ARE WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ISH

I didn't stop to calculate the Dec 03 birthdate of Noble Realms, even though LighteningEye clearly wrote 4 YEARS and 2 months.  It seems i had the 42 "trapped" in my head and, when reading L Eye's post, i immediately thought of my dream...... then i got mixed and blended with [the 2 distinctly different concepts of] months and years, and 'decided' it was 42 months  big_smile

Anyway, when interpreting numbers, you're allowed to play with them to see how they resonate with cosmic truth.  Although in different year / month combinations, the "4" and the "2" were still relevant and 'asking' to be played with.  They just could have fitted more perfectly, that's all.
