i read somewhere that gary cooper had no idea what the hell rand was trying to say, especially during the big speech scene, he just read the lines and acted.

The "what should be" never did exist, but people keep trying to live up to it. There is no "what should be," there is only what is.

Ive never watched an old Movie like this but i was surprised how soft the english was to understand. These days its hard to understand American English for me.
