I advise you look around a bit before being so close minded.

Hi Margaret.
There's a quite a few websites/forums where you can post your photos for "expert analysis" and one of the best IMO is http://ghoststudy.com/types.html (the same one Pictus linked to before). You can get some constructive feedback and see a ton of examples there if you really want to get into it. Great group of people there, just watch out for the inevitable trolls.
I do agree that the vast majority of photographic anomalies are "false positives" or fakes, tho. Once upon a time I thought a few of mine were of an other-worldly origin but these days I tend to think otherwise. For example:
Possible orbs (probable moisture)
Possible ecto (probable exhaust)
Possible orb (probable dust)
This one still has me wondering
And BTW, if you think orbs are fun and interesting you should try checking out some ITCs. This is a pretty good website to get you started with that if you want http://home.comcast.net/~sizzorfite/. Anyway, hope you keep enjoying your research.
wow
fixed in photo shop??? I wouldn't have a clue how to do that sorry
believe it or not these did appear at random
this is all making me a sleuth at finding out what orbs are!
just gonna keep snapping
hey lilmomma
those are good!
i wouldnt write them off yet
i have one like that one you say is probable exhaust...but mine wasn't--have to see if I can find it
this photo i am posting was a completely clear night i took others that have no orbs so....go figure!

here is another one from Natural Bridge in Virginia--inside the cave--we took a lot of photos and the orbs were not always there

The following two pics contain fake orbs. I wanted to see how lint particles floating near the camera lens would look.

Lint source was some wool that I squeezed in front above the camera. Flash was on, like most orb photos. So with these here definitely being fake, photos of real orbs would probably have unique characteristics that cannot be plausibly duplicated using dust or lint or water droplets. Also, if orbs are etheric energy balls, then it might be possible to make a psi ball and photograph it between the hands in a dim room with flash on (there are a couple iffy pics at psipog.net but they don't look like orbs).
OK I was just about to ask about your evperiments Montalk!
Hmmm
lint particles possible
popping my bubble
still I will experiment
just something is still eluding me....not even sure what it is....
this is intriguing
not convinced yet
here is another one from Natural Bridge, VA
cold clear March night no dust no moisture nobody around

Ok now these ARE dust particles from fireworks

OK another one...possible ecto--not exhaust--smoke maybe but there was another clear as day

just noticed the orb on top of our special little lighthouse--thats just too strange
Hello again, Margaret (do you prefer Margaret do you ever go by Peg or Meg or Maggie?)
If I'm not mistaken, you can tell if a digital picture's been photoshopped by checking its EXIF data, not that I know how to do it myself but I'm fairly certain that it can be done.
Anyway, something else to consider about outdoor orbs is the possibility that they could be pollen or even flying insects. I hate being a bubble-burster so to reiterate, IMHO just because MOST caps aren't real doesn't necessarily mean that ALL caps aren't real (as Montalk's signature implies). I say if you're having fun and learning stuff along the way then, hey, might as well keep searching...there are real ones out there, just try not to spend too much time on ones that are most-likely something that can be easily explained away.
And ya, cigarette smoke is another notorious culprit but I do hear what you're saying about how one pic is normal and then the next one isn't. Same thing happened with that exhaust pic up there. I'm not sure what to make of that...windy perhaps? *shrugs*
Like for instance, I happened to come across this earlier today:
http://www.longleaf.net/mandala/
In all of those pics I only see three orbs. The most striking one is hovering above the mandala and was taken before they started the ceremony, then another on the shoulder of the monk carrying its remains and then the last one hovering above the empty backboard. I find that rather odd.
Not sure if you've seen this before so, for kicks, here's another gallery with an interesting variety of pix:

Bye for now ![]()
Again i wasn't trying to discredit anyones honesty... I just know what's possible in Photoshop
A lot of the pictures could be just dust particles and/or moisture, but I will admit that some of them look to be pretty real..
That Youtube video about the orbs was fascinating, though I still say it's possible to have been manipulated.
