Exactly! I'm proficient at being left-brained when it's required (which, in this world, it has been most of the time! School, work, etc.) but my natural preference is right-brained. So I went to the site you listed, lyra, and sure enough, it's confirmed. LOL!
Same here. For instance, with these questions:
- Are you usually running late for class or other appointments?
No, I'm the person who always shows up early for appointments and interviews. But after awhile at my jobs, it's all I can do to make sure I arrive on time. I start running later and later every morning, begrudgingly forcing myself to trot off to work.
- When making decisions
You go with your gut feeling—what I feel is right?
You carefully weigh each option
I carefully weigh all the options, always......then always allow intuition to have the final say. It's completely a 50/50 process.
- When relating an event to a friend
You go straight to the main point and then fill in details
You tell many details before telling the conclusion
I'm exactly both. I'm totally a "to the point, on with the program" sort of person, and have zero patience for people who go on and on and on and on, taking forever to get to the point, but my stories are always filled with detail. So you could say I tell a detailed story but in a to-the-point way. !!
- Do you have a place for everything and everything in a place?
My computer desktop is methodically organized with all those electronic folders, same with my email Inbox, and I have files for my personal paperwork and important stuff, and everything does have its place.......but when I change my clothes I leave the clothes where they drop on the floor. Purse and bags get dropped anywhere. Etc.
So it's another 50/50 mix.
- Your work style is like this
You concentrate on one task at a time until it is complete.
You usually juggle several things at once.
I do both, depending on how the day is going. I typically work one thing at a time, but I can flip switches and turn into a juggling multi-tasker if need be, and do so with ease. That's why I could do office work and waitressing/hotel front desk equally well. Total 50/50, all the way. Some people can only do one or the other, can either only keep busy and never sit still, or can only sit still and work methodically. Not me.
- What is your desk, work area, or laundry area like?
Neat and organized
Cluttered with stuff I might need
Both. See above bit about "everything in its place."
I'll leave clothes in the dryer for days and just pluck what I need out of there instead of just putting the clothes away. Totally lazy. I'll pluck dishes out of the dish rack for days instead of putting them away. Clothes dropped on the floor wherever they fall. God, and knitting stuff and books all OVER the damn place!!! My computer desk gets buried in yarn, papers, stacks of books falling every which way, needles and crochet hooks sticking out and rolling around every which way, DVD boxes, mugs for tea and other drinks that have been sitting out for days, you name it. But see, I know where everything is! It's organized madness. And with other stuff I'm anally organized, especially my work area at my jobs. So it all just depends......
- Do you do your best thinking sitting at your desk or walking around or lying down?
I write while sitting down, but I've had fantastic phone conversations while pacing round and round and round in circles......
So yeah, definitely a mix, with different life situations calling for different ways of being..........
