Topic: NR'ers: The Outsiders
This will be a kind of summary of NR’s several threads. In fact I could easily add this to several threads, but it will be better to start a new topic. I began to read Frank DeMarco’s book Muddy Tracks recently. DeMarco is an attendee of Monroe Istitute OBE studies for over 5 years and he writes his experiences in this book. It goes really good, but I’d like to quote from the Foreword written by Colin Wilson. His foreword includes some topics we’ve been talking on NR lately.
Colin Wilson wrote
… My own work had played a part in his (DeMarco’s) development, which is how I come to be writing this introduction. It helped to crystallize his own feeling that there is something oddly wrong with “this life” and there has to be some alternative , some other way. I had experienced the same odd sense of suffocation during my own teens and for me it crystallized in T.S. Elliot’s phrase “Where is the life we have lost in living?” I began to collect material about what I called “Outsiders”, misfits who had experienced this same sense of not really belonging to our down-to-earth reality. The romantics of the 19th century felt the same, and often committed suicide, or died of a kind of self-induced despair at the thought that there is no alternative.
What fascinated me so much were these glimpses of overwhelming delight and affirmation, the kind of thing that led Van Gogh to paint “Starry Night” and made Nijinsky write in his diary: “I am God, I am God”. Were they sheer illusion – as Van Gogh believed when he committed suicide? In states of depression and fatigue, it was easy to believe this. But then there were other moments, states of immense happiness and confidence, in which it was obvious that human beings are far stronger than they realize.
It was this question that led me to write my first book, The Outsider, in 1955… the question that I later dramatized in the science-fiction novel The Mind Parasites…
… what continues to obsess me is the notion that human beings are on the verge of a new step in their evolution and that it is in the process of occuring at this moment. It seems clear to me that for well over three thousand years, human conscioussness has been trapped by survival needs in a narrow “left brain” vision and that it is now virtually cul-de-sac. Research into a book on the so-called alien abduction phenomena has convinced me that something very strange is happening and that we are on the verge of some great change. It seems to me that there is much evidence that the “aliens” – or some of them – are attempting to “midwife” the human race to a new stage of conscioussness.
Why do I feel that Monroe’s insights are so important to the present time? I can illustrate the answer by pointing to a recent book called The Threat by my fellow researcher David Jacobs, who is convinced that the human race is about to be taken over by the aliens, who will overrun us as the Nazis once hoped to overrun the world. His book left me worried, for thirty years of research have certainly taught him more about UFO’s than I shall never now. Then I thought about Frank DeMarco and his book and suddenly became aware that Jacobs is leaving out of account what Monroe knew and what DeMarco knows: that in this strange “multiverse” there are powerful forces for good as well as evil and that if we remain trapped “downstairs”, in a kind of worm’s eye view of reality, we shall inevitably take a pessimistic view of the future.
Colin Wilson’s conclusion is very important for me. ‘Cause the opposite question was on my mind for long time, I wrote that on Loosh production thread or on Michael Newton’s studies – why haven’t they mention about the potential dangers? This is really a point of view. M. Newton or DeMarco or Monroe did not concentrate on dark side. This is not something good or bad. This is their choice. But mine is different. Of course I will not begin a crusade upon Dark side – which would put us in same line – but I’d like to learn about their ways/strategy. Because they probably know about my possible reactions very well. I observe this planet is full of “problems” which may trigger some exact “reactions” in me and someone will always be ready to offer me a “solution” which fits his agenda. As ignorance endangers, it’s good to know. Or as Tom once wrote, this is like three little pig story. Once the house is strong, wolf can not come in. It’s a matter of openness to manipulation afterwards (of course again it comes to ignorance).
By the way, DeMarco writes about Ancient Egypt priests who said “I of my knowledge tell you that this is the truth”. Their formula was not “This is what I have been taught” or “This is what I heard”. Again we recently spoke on this in several threads. And Tom’s latest article gives great info on intuitive ways to gather knowledge. In today’s world, it’s not so logical – also not possible – to find everything by oneself. Of course we’ll learn, read, search, consider other’s opinions and knowledge but our OWN spice to the meal comes from intuition. What do new knowledge mean to you – not only to left hemispehere, but also to right hemisphere, to your heart and even to your stomach? Remember gut feeling? Yep, we have same biologoic receptors in our gastrointestinals as our brain. It’s wise to pay attention to stomach!
So, my fellow Outsider NR’ers, it’s good to know there are some restless people who seriously FEEL there’s something wrong around, who has that “splinter in the brain”. And more than that, who knows we are far more POWERFUL than we’ve believed till now. As SiriArc always reminds; Transmute, Transform, Transcend.
We’re on the way.
P.S: I, of my own experience suggest you to read these while listening to Peter Gabriel’s Genesis’ wonderful music. Particularly The Cinema Show from 1973 Selling England By the Pound album and especially Carpet Crawlers from 1974 The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway album. Somehow we got in and now it’s time to get out:
Carpet Crawlers
There is lambswool under my naked feet.
The wool is soft and warm,
- gives off some kind of heat.
A salamander scurries into flame to be destroyed.
Imaginary creatures are trapped in birth on celluloid.
The fleas cling to the golden fleece,
Hoping they'll find peace.
Each thought and gesture are caught in celluloid.
Theres no hiding in my memory.
Theres no room to avoid. The crawlers cover the floor in the red ochre corridor.
For my second sight of people, they've more lifeblood than before.
Theyre moving in time to a heavy wooden door,
Where the needles eye is winking, closing in on the poor. The carpet crawlers heed their callers:
Weve got to get in to get out
Weve got to get in to get out
Weve got to get in to get out.Theres only one direction in the faces that I see;
Its upward to the ceiling, where the chambers said to be.
Like the forest fight for sunlight, that takes root in every tree.
They are pulled up by the magnet, believing theyre free. The carpet crawlers heed their callers:
Weve got to get in to get out
Weve got to get in to get out
Weve got to get in to get out.Mild mannered supermen are held in kryptonite,
And the wise and foolish virgins giggle with their bodies glowing Bright.
Through a door a harvest feast is lit by candlelight;
Its the bottom of a staircase that spirals out of sight. The carpet crawlers heed their callers:
Weve got to get in to get out
Weve got to get in to get out
Weve got to get in to get out.The porcelain mannikin with shattered skin fears attack.
The eager pack lift up their pitchers - they carry all they lack.
The liquid has congealed, which has seeped out through the crack,
And the tickler takes his stickleback. The carpet crawlers heed their callers:
Weve got to get in to get out
Weve got to get in to get out
Weve got to get in to get out.
P.S II: If some of you believe today’s popular pop-rap-pure crap is “music”, your favourite Rock DJ Feritciva suggests to think again.
