Just watched this clip....definitely very funny, had us laughing. I'm not taking sides, like either pro-Michael Moore or anti, but it was fun to watch him going off on CNN. Whether it was real and he actually had emotion behind his words or if it was staged and he was amping himself up and pretending to be all in tizzy for attention, I don't know, but it was amusing, that's for sure. The guy at the very end though, as the clip cuts out...annoying snarky pod guy all the way,
whoever that was.
Michael Moore never did address the point that Wolf made though about why he hasn't been on the show in 3 years. Michael was kind of making it seem as if he hadn't been invited, like he's sort of the outcast that they don't want to risk having on their show, while Wolf pointed out that they've invited him on numerous times and he's declined every time...until now. (coincidentally when MM's promoting his new movie.) Notice MM goes silent and then deflects attention off of that by harumphing about what they would have been talking to him about had they had him on, what, would they have apologized to him for what they said about Fahrenheit 9/11 and all the rest? No, of course not. Harumph!
But that's not the point. The point wasn't what they would or wouldn't have been talking about. The point was whether they would have had him on the show, period, and the fact that they did invite him, but he declined, and is now skewing things by making it seem as if he hasn't been invited.
I hate when people can't just admit that they've been busted skewing something and admit to it, and be all "My bad! I'm wrong! You're right! You did invite me on and I did decline! Whoops!" and instead get backed into a corner and then hem and haw and harumph and change the subject and deflect. It's embarrassing to watch.
But other than that, it was damn funny. He came across as a bit unhinged, but again, how real was it, I don't know. My guess is that it was an attention seeking performance more than anything, born out of MM no longer having to worry about $$$ (if you've read the stories about this, he arranged to pocket something like 50%? of the profits from "Sicko," and as a result has made a BOAT LOAD of money. He'll never have to worry about where his financing is coming from again, and is free to say whatever he wants to whomever he wants wherever he wants, because he's a multi-gagillionaire and no longer answers to anybody. He knows his movies WILL get made now, his way, and because he's established himself his audience is guaranteed.
