I think you had somethings on your mind about the subject of money and sites so you missed me.

No, not really.  If there was a miscommunication then it's due to writing only one line that says this:

nexus wrote:

Don't give 'er a penny.

Step into another's shoes and see how by writing that, it can lead people to believe that you have an issue with her getting money, and with people who would be giving it to her.  Possibly communicate better.  It happens a lot on message board forums.  People write one line, or a couple of sentences that make perfect sense to them because they're the ones writting it, but they leave stuff out...sometimes a LOT of stuff out.....so it winds up being misconstrued by others.

People get all wrapped up in their own heads that they fail to see how others will interpret their words.  Personally I don't see how I, or anybody for that matter, was supposed to get this:

"So i thought a little tongue in cheek comment in all it's brevity might be my sole comment and that it might say something about what i think of Karens work not about money.   I thought i might save you all a further explanation on this particular thread of all the things that i think are so wrong with Karens work.  The money is actually not one of them.  You know... penny for your thoughts?  Don't pay the penny... don't hear the thoughts.  So i am not trying to tell everyone what to with their money lyra.  It was [ i thought ] a humourous way of saying... I don't believe her."

....out of:

"Don't give 'er a penny."

!

I don't think there's any way that anybody could have taken your one short sentence and understood that you meant all that instead of how it came out.  !  So if the second paragraph is what you really meant, then that's what should have been written, not that one line.

nexus wrote:

But i hadn't commented here earlier and i didn't know there was a "Karen" thread until you provided the link.  Had i known i might have posted my other comments here.

Not sure what's going on with this commnent.  You started the paragraph talking about one idea, the idea of not having a problem with people charging for things, then suddenly you switch to talking about posting comments in this thread versus another, when that wasn't even an issue being discussed here.  Nobody said anything about where you were posting your comments, least of all me.  So I was left reading your words going "hanh?"

Not picking a fight, but come on now - these communication issues/hiccups seems to be on your end, probably fanned by Mercury being in retrograde or something.  I make clear points, and I say what I mean, and mean what I say.  I don't switch off point and suddenly mix other concepts into the middle of a paragraph like you're doing here.  You seem like a nice guy, but seem very much in your own head when writing, not realizing how it reads for other people.  Just take a moment to re-read your post from the vantage point of another's shoes.....did you manage to convey everything going on in your mind?  If not, then you can't expect other people to be mind readers and fill in the blanks.   Also, does it read coherantly, or are points jumping around, not making sense?   Even worse:  Are you responding to points that originated in your own mind, stuff that wasn't even said by anybody in the thread?  Just things to consider.

. . . My frustration and health dose of scepticism has always been with sites - not specifically Karens's - that have a lot of sound beliefs, but also have very specific predictions that read like astrological charts and could potentially resonate with a portion of the public at all times.

I don't believe that the predictions that are being forcast right now are to be taken too literally as we are in a process of rapid acceleration where everything becomes more elastic (twisting in opposite directions at times) and is basically being manifested in the now according to how well we are dealing with the higher vibrations. I am focusing my reality on the positive but I think you have to be aware of the negative energies as they are manifesting more openly also and must be dealt with.

FS.

For me, some of Karen's "very specific predictions" do resonate because they provide a mirror that reflects that at least one other is -- at times -- experiencing energy fluctuations very similarly to the way I'm experiencing them.  As Lyra says, " . . . she doesn't come across like she's trying to scam people and take advantage of their hopeful naivete.  You can tell she sincerely believes what she's writing."

Energies ARE shifting rapidly. One's ability to incorporate these new frequencies can be helped when an outside perspective closely mirroring one's own appears seemingly out of the blue from someone one's never met yet appears to be on a journey closely paralleling one's own. That's primarily the value I get from reading her alerts.  Another value is timing; there is no set time for their arrival.  They emerge when she has something to say and not on some forced time-line, which -- in my opinion -- provides additional credibility to her effort to explicate changes as these emerge in her awareness.

Re: What's Up On Planet Earth

Hi Lyra

My point about the other thread is valid if you understand what it means.  Simply that what i had to say about Karen is written elsewhere and so i was [unnecessarily in your view] brief in my [ humourous i thought ] one liner.

If i thought there was 'no way' anyone could get where i was coming from lyra i wouldn't have been [humourously here] so brief.  You are insisting i speak for myself when it comes to money while you are speaking for everyone when it comes to my humour.

I even clipped the "her" with an " 'er' to get myself across.    I thought i was conveying far more with extreme brevity than 2 pages could have.     Look,  i promise not to 'try' humour with a deeper message in future.  I will be sure to always use the 'appropriate' emoticon.  Alright?  neutral

gcg I hear what you are saying and I get the same mirror effect from various other sites and writers that are very skilled in verbalising what one is feeling in isolation, and it does have an amplifying effect when realising our connectedness. I have never really questioned Karen's sincerety and don't think of her readers as being naive but have instead reacted according to my human condition and impulse. I first found her site a while back and looked at her bio, with a few things sticking in my memory ---- With an educational background in psychology, counseling, and law.
In 1998 she completed psychic training at Edgar Cayce's ARE in Virginia Beach

The psychology and law background bothers me for obvious reasons (there I go offending a few more NR members probably), and also I have known some gifted people and that has not been the usual chosen pathway - usually more in an artistic, creative or service to others field. The Cayce psychic training is also a bit of a negative for me. If the world was a loving, giving, sharing, just place I would have very different thoughts.

Yes I am being very judgemental and it's easy to judge as opposed to building a site, but if we all agreed on everything then there would be no need for this forum. Just the very first post ...with thousands of replies of ..'my words exactly'.

Lastly I also found her site a bit too new agey (in contradiction with Lyra) but on reflection Lyra is right about the selling of books not really being an issue. I guess we can't live on love alone .....yet.
I still won't be giving 'er a penny though, for her thoughts or otherwise and I don't think she will be too upset at the loss of my readership. Anyway enough of my thoughts. No doubt as things sometimes work out I will look at her next update and it will resonate with me like nothing ever before and I will go strangely silent as I rethink my world.

Thanks for sharing this. I never took the time to read her bio. The fact that she put that out there certainly suggests these are important aspects of her development in her own mind.  Though I never had any training at the Cayce center in VA. Beach, I spent a good deal of time there in the late 70's reading the Cayce material.  Of course in those days they were NOT what they are now, and the experience proved most enjoyable.  Cayce's son had much to do with turning that into the megabucks operation it now is and I doubt I'd recognize the place (or the energy) were I to visit at this time.

I'm not all that troubled about the psych and law backgrounds. I certainly got sidetracked into fields of study that helped shape my mind but not my soul.  It seems to me she's evolved quite nicely beyond these rather limited parameters over the course of a lifetime.

Loved this!  And you're absolutely right it would be exceedingly boring if we all agreed with all content all the time.

Here we're in complete agreement!  For me it seems as soon as I decide that THIS is the way (the truth and the light) something or other comes along that bursts the bubble and reminds me it is indeed all illusion.

Hey, join the club, apparently I do all the time.  big_smile   At this point I can no longer worry about who wants to get offended by my words or rubbed the wrong way.   They choose to be extremely sensitive, they choose to be offended, they choose to take things personally.  They could choose to be detached, but they don't.  So don't worry about it.  There's nothing wrong with what you said here and it's a shame that there are so many sensitive people who like to manipulate others with oversensitive offense, to the point where they're basically censoring everybody around them making it so that everybody has to cater to them and what they'd like to hear and what they feel is "acceptable." It's one thing when people disagree and want to debate an issue, it's another when they choose to get offended and throw whiny tantrums, trying to manipulate the other person into altering their personality in order to appease them.  That's bunk.  So rock on with your opinions.  Nothing wrong with that.

To clarify - I found it refreshing that Karen dresses in regular clothes and uses her regular name and not some foofooy new age alter ego character name while dressed in what essentially amounts to a costume wink but, I too find it to be too new agey for my liking.........hence the reason I said that it's "not enough on my wavelength" for me to recommend to people.  It's far too soft for my liking, it doesn't tackle the dark stuff going on in this reality and the gritty stuff, looking for ways to wield the sword and rise up and find solutions.  Material like that appeals to me, new age stuff doesn't.

Buckle your seat belts, it's a full moon period and it looks like it's already begun as it only can on a message board.

I noticed that it was a full moon right before you said that Lyra. It is getting a bit crazy here at home...

I most vigorously agree with that!  big_smile

The only fault I find with Karen is that her approach seems to be that of acceptance of ALL, a passive sort of sitting back and waiting for the negative things to pass on by.   I prefer to confront error and/or negativity when I can, as those confrontations bring my most valued learning experiences.

I say it's a fault, but maybe it's more just a difference in style.  Certainly there are some nuggets of solid wisdom to be found in her material, and I appreciate what she does.

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great and would suffice.  ~Robert Frost

Nexus made a comment. I got it. You did'nt. Nexus perceived this and clarified himself directly to you in post #15. Any "misunderstanding " on your part could and should have ended there.

Instead you chose to respond in #16 with a 30+ line critique about him and his posting style etc etc etc.

Re: What's Up On Planet Earth

I loved it when she posted about how her sick cat's star family was helping her to get better. I mean if you are going to be out there might as well do it the whole way. I think she's good at being sensitive to energy shifts that are always and forever going on but that's as far as I'll go with her.

Are you still going on about this?  !    Interesting that you waited til two days later to respond, when I've seen you logged onto the forum during those past two days.

Sorry bud, but it's a full moon period and your motives are quite transparent.  wink    At this point you're acting like a mosquito, buzzing around, trying to get a feed.   It's literally like you're stoking dying fire embers.   If Nexus isn't even commenting on it all anymore and everybody else in the thread has quite obviously moved on, then take your cue.
