Re: What's Up On Planet Earth
I think you had somethings on your mind about the subject of money and sites so you missed me.
No, not really. If there was a miscommunication then it's due to writing only one line that says this:
Don't give 'er a penny.
Step into another's shoes and see how by writing that, it can lead people to believe that you have an issue with her getting money, and with people who would be giving it to her. Possibly communicate better. It happens a lot on message board forums. People write one line, or a couple of sentences that make perfect sense to them because they're the ones writting it, but they leave stuff out...sometimes a LOT of stuff out.....so it winds up being misconstrued by others.
People get all wrapped up in their own heads that they fail to see how others will interpret their words. Personally I don't see how I, or anybody for that matter, was supposed to get this:
"So i thought a little tongue in cheek comment in all it's brevity might be my sole comment and that it might say something about what i think of Karens work not about money. I thought i might save you all a further explanation on this particular thread of all the things that i think are so wrong with Karens work. The money is actually not one of them. You know... penny for your thoughts? Don't pay the penny... don't hear the thoughts. So i am not trying to tell everyone what to with their money lyra. It was [ i thought ] a humourous way of saying... I don't believe her."
....out of:
"Don't give 'er a penny."
!
I don't think there's any way that anybody could have taken your one short sentence and understood that you meant all that instead of how it came out. ! So if the second paragraph is what you really meant, then that's what should have been written, not that one line.
But i hadn't commented here earlier and i didn't know there was a "Karen" thread until you provided the link. Had i known i might have posted my other comments here.
Not sure what's going on with this commnent. You started the paragraph talking about one idea, the idea of not having a problem with people charging for things, then suddenly you switch to talking about posting comments in this thread versus another, when that wasn't even an issue being discussed here. Nobody said anything about where you were posting your comments, least of all me. So I was left reading your words going "hanh?"
Not picking a fight, but come on now - these communication issues/hiccups seems to be on your end, probably fanned by Mercury being in retrograde or something. I make clear points, and I say what I mean, and mean what I say. I don't switch off point and suddenly mix other concepts into the middle of a paragraph like you're doing here. You seem like a nice guy, but seem very much in your own head when writing, not realizing how it reads for other people. Just take a moment to re-read your post from the vantage point of another's shoes.....did you manage to convey everything going on in your mind? If not, then you can't expect other people to be mind readers and fill in the blanks. Also, does it read coherantly, or are points jumping around, not making sense? Even worse: Are you responding to points that originated in your own mind, stuff that wasn't even said by anybody in the thread? Just things to consider.
