The Pope steps in it...

This isn't the first time Pope Benedict has stuck his foot (and more) in his mouth.  It's almost as if both he and George dub-ya have the same speech advisors!  It really is pathetic... this guy's going to undo all the efforts of  Pope John Paul II and any/all the progress he'd made.  At this rate, I can see how Nostradamus' prediction (of Rome being nuked) can be true.  Somebody ought to tell the Pope to take a closer look at the 3rd part of the Fatima prophecy.

No kidding!  I'd love to see that happen, as well.  Wouldn't it just be a kick in the ass if there were alien relics down there too!

But I do not believe in its religions, even most of its principles.  Common sense was the backbone of Jesus' teachings, that and I hear he did some far out shit.  The funny thing about the Cardinals electing this particular man to the most powerful office in religion is that he actually looks evil.  Have you seen a picture of him smiling?  I have, it's kind of a half smile...like he forced it.  And this was a scripted picture reserved exclusively for a Catholic environment (Catholic high school).  Of course, the Cardinals are all too familiar with the alleged prophecies of St. Malachy.  Whether genuine or forgery, these writings have purposefully shaped the decisions of Cardinals each and every time they vote for hundreds of years.  If the Cardinals put weight into it, then I'm willing to learn towards the genuine side.  These people may have a shaky spiritual foundation, but they are intelligent people for the most part. 

And if the prophecies are true, then most of the Cardinals are buying into the whole end of the world scenario.  No surprise there.........

     This is a fantastic and somewhat reassuring incident. Twenty years ago there would have been little reaction to this effort to rewrite history. The numbers are down for Papal parades and the discontent particularly amongst priests gives the indiginous people of South America a chance at reconnecting to what has been stripped from them. The thought of the Pope getting slammed in any South American country is shocking. I'm always a little skeptical when the home of 'measured tones' overstep it's bounds. The arrogance may stem from the assummed ownership they thought they still had in South America.
