Sounds weird, but try this:

I ignored that thread for the longest time, didn't tug at me or interest me, but then I really read it and thought Huh...interesting. Couldn't hurt to try, so I bought some sunflower oil and did it. Nothing noticeable happened that I could see, good or bad, and then I eventually got lazy and stopped doing it.
Later on I began experiencing an issue with one of my teeth. I still have a baby tooth in my mouth, because it never had an adult tooth underneath it, and coincidentally it was the one tooth out of the bunch to get a cavity when I was five.
Go figure. So it has a mercury filling in it. Since it's a baby tooth, the gum has disintegrated a bit around it. It's never had any real problems though, but then one day it was hurting. This went on for over two days, and I realized it wasn't going to go away. Something needed to be done, I don't have insurance, I don't believe in doctors anyway, they usually cause more problems than good, so, try the oil swish. It worked for others, and I got the intuitive nudge that it would work.
So I tried it, did the oil swish a couple of days in a row, and amazingly the pain in that tooth immediately went away.
I have no idea what the issue had been or why oil swishing worked, but the problem hasn't returned with that tooth, luckily. I don't know if the oil swish will help with a cavity, but it helps with teeth in general as well as mouth stuff and overall health, from what I'm hearing. Couldn't hurt for people to try it out. May prevent future problems from developing. If anybody does it though, go for high grade organic sunflower oil since it's probably cleaner and better.
