I know it doesn't make a lot of sense in the thread, but the idea of mechanisation tending to chaos and destruction reminded me of the album Mechanical Animals, the song Last Day on Earth, which is one of my favorites on the album. Mike claims the Garmonbozia is his, so Bob takes it out of the killer's heart and drops it on the ground of the black lodge, so that it nourishes the black lodge, Mike the magician, and the red dwarf.

All through the series, you can follow the phases of the moon and see its troubling effects on humans psyche, as transfers of garmonbozia or hate/fear/egoism energy to the black lodge.

What bob wanted most is to BECOME Laura, to live through her, to taste through her mouth, etc. She sometimes gets possessed by Bob and changes radically. Bob says he wansts to be her or he will kill her. She refused, so Bob killed her, using his own crazy homicidal and incestuous father as a puppet.

Steiner said that people who do not develop themselves enough morally and spiritually will become elementals in the next stage of earth evolution.

Our present earth evolution comes fomr an ancient cosmos of wisdom and beauty. So fallen elementals are intelligent but can be very ugly.

in the same way, the mission of our present earht evolution is to develop Love and Freedom. So the ex-humans who will have failed this goal will turn into elementals beings gifted with morality, but acting immorally, in PARASITICAL NEED OF LOVE. Needing love and needing to be loved. It will be the first time elementals will be gifted with morality.

Some elementals, mostly of the salamander kind, Fire beings (undine=water, gnome=earth, elves=air). Fire beings look very much human, sometimes with wings. some fire beings are from the animal realm. animal group-soul are from this level.

when humans crossthe threshold of death, sometimes they are very much fragmented in their inner being, so these frasgmented pieces of Self are torn apart and go their own way: they become fire beings and exist among animals group-soul and other elementals. the elementals who ordinate nature and plants are mostly healthbringers. But the elementals who co-exists in the astral world of man and animals are retarded and they do not belong to the inner space of evolved beings like animals and humans. They have a regressive influence on this astral world. Bottom line, elementals who live in the inner world of animals and humans are dangerous, and parasitical. When they have an action on plants, they cause poisonous plants (toxic, or psychoactive...) to come to existence. 

What i wanted to point out here is: elementals who have become parasitically in NEED of us will eventually disappear because they cannot evolve spiritually this way, by feeding parasitically upon other forms of life, they do not develop the Spirit. However, this sort of elementals will disappear, yet another type of elemental will come to existence: ex-humans who will have lost their soul-spirit and become parasites in need of LOVE.

So when I listen the Song 'Just Can't Get Enough', I wonder if Dave Gahan talks about drugs or his significant other. But anyway, it points to this dreadful future when most humans will have failed their spiritual mission and regress to the stage of parasitic elemental beings.
