Topic: Fringe Knowledge for Beginners - book by Montalk

So I wrote a book...

It is called Fringe Knowledge for Beginners.

        6" x 9" and 120 pages.

Because this text is an introductory primer on alternative subjects, I purposely simplified the language. Later in 2007 I might publish a far heavier book that focuses on detail and completeness rather than simplicity and brevity. But since there was a need for something simple and concise, this is good for now. Enjoy!

Congratulations Tom -- what a welcomed Christmas present.  Thank  you for including the free download, which I promptly did, as I eagerly wait for my hardcopy to arrive from "Lulu" --

Wouldn't it be nice to see this book on the bookshelves at Borders etc?  I'm making that one of my New Years wishes!!

Warm regards,
Christine

Re: Fringe Knowledge for Beginners - book by Montalk

Thanks for creating that book, Montalk!  I can't wait to dive in.

Just got through the first few pages and was really struck by your description of us being characters in a video game.  I've had that same thought and taken it as far as I could go with it mentally, and it holds up well.

Even think of how we all have strengths and weaknesses that we can build on, but can't completely change.  If you're extremely mental, it's going to be at the expense of some other attribute, like strength, charm, or dexterity even.  smile  When you begin a role playing game, the first thing you do is decide what race and type your character will be, whether he or she will be a thief (dexterity, sneaking, charm), a warrior (strength, constitution), or a mage (wisdom, intelligence, charm) etc.

Kind of makes you wonder whether we do that as souls before we come in.  "Well, I need more points to bump up my wisdom.  Hmmm... maybe I'll take a couple out of dexterity and one out of strength."

I'm planning to forward this link to a few of my mates because it might just give them a nudge in the right direction.

When my bank account has recovered from it's annual Xmas time beating, I'll get round to ordering a hardcopy.

Thanks a lot!

Re: Fringe Knowledge for Beginners - book by Montalk

I've been thinking for a while that the world needed a nice introduction to fringe topics like this.  And I thought that Montalk would be the perfect person to write it.  Congratulations on its completion, I will get right to reading it.
