Topic: Hostile Dream Manipulation.

I'm concerned I may have been 'fed on' whilst in a dream state. Last night I was having a dream where I was speaking to my sister, whom I haven't seen or spoken with for nearly 12 years due to a huge falling out. The feeling was tense as I was aware of my waking state animosity towards her, then she suddenly said the worst thing she could possibly say to me (in connection to the real life fall out) and I flipped. She wouldn't stop taunting me so I began hitting her and then held her head under the water in the kitchen sink in an attempt to scare her into shutting up. When I let her up again her face had changed to a black & slightly demonic appearance and she head-butted me (good for her some may say!). At that point I half woke up (awake and seeing but with eyes closed and not fully aware of my physical body) and I sensed a towering figure standing next to my bed and leaning slightly over me. The figure was completely black and I was gripped by a distinct sense of evil. I felt scared but luckily managed to will myself awake in what seemed like a split second.

I went back to sleep and some time later I was awoken from another dream by the sensation of having been punched in the face. There was no pain but I felt the 'wham' and 'what the hell was that?' reaction to being punched from a blindside position. This has occured a few times over the past month or so, although it was usually the sensation of having been lightly tapped on the head.

However it is the former which concerns me more. Is it possible for my dreams to be manipulated into leading me to extremes of emotion such as fear or red-mist rage, upon which the emotions can be fed off as in real life? This also happened to me a few years ago over a period of several consecutive days, although it was initially far more terrifying than last night. Looking back now it is easy to see how that situation was a definite feeding opportunity.

So, what can I do to either avoid such interence or combat it when it occurs? Perhaps it's just my negative thought patterns attracting such things, so I need to work harder on myself and upgrade?

What is interesting is that earlier in the night (last night) I woke up after having another dream with no recollection of any details except for having heard a voice give me the following advice: 'a fraction of courage can dispell fear', or something very similar.

I've heard the official line about sleep paralysis inducing hallucinations and feelings of fear, etc, but I don't buy it. It was as real as someone standing next to me right now, but that said I'm open to new ideas as to what may have happened.

Perhaps at this point I should add that I'm not prone to acts of violence either against family members or anyone else for that matter!;)

Re: Hostile Dream Manipulation.

I think the dream manipulation is not too far off.  They probably manipulate more than dreams--- anyone that is in a vulnerable position.  I've seen those shadow beings too, and they inspire pure terror.  I've also had those dreams you speak of, pummeling people senseless as they mock me and not having any effect on them.

Re: Hostile Dream Manipulation.

I have a lot of hostile dreams. But, if you can be lucid enough in them you can fight back. I've used different mantras and visualiziation of weapons in the dreams to fight the attacker off. Also the more demonic the entity the harder it is to fight them off. So I will resort to speaking a very weird language that I can only speak when I am asleep. Sort of like speaking in tongues. Whatever is coming at me will become injured and drag itself off.

hmm

Re: Hostile Dream Manipulation.

I had an entity that continually attacked me in my dreams.  It stopped when I had a lucid dream.  It came at me and I said, wait a minute, you only have as much power as I give you, so get out of here (most of the time all they can do is reflect and magnify your fear and anger).  It left immediately, upon which I woke up.  The weirdest part is, my girlfriend then suddenly began thrashing about in her sleep, in an obvious nightmare, so I woke her up.  She then described the exact same entity invading her dreams, with something to the effect of "is that what you were talking about, holy shit that was scary."

It doesn't stop there though, we stayed up talking and a minute or so later my roommate knocked on the door, and came in pale as a ghost and shaking.  Now this guy was 6'5" and solidly built, with an big "tough guy" macho mentality to match, but he described the same entity and asked if he could sleep on the floor in my room that night.  I have never before or since heard him even come close to admitting fear of anything.

btw, it didn't just come into my dreams, but for a while it would come just as I was falling asleep, and felt like it was trying to crush the air out of me (a choke ghost, they call them in Hawaii).

Re: Hostile Dream Manipulation.

Ive experienced that overwheliming sinister presence more than once GreenT, In varying degrees of hostility.

Pardon me while I try to articulate myself upon the subject.

There are so many avenues one could take to begin to dismantle the what and the why of said sensation.
Freud might say you have some depraved sexual desire repressed from childhood that is manifesting itself during your sleep cycle.
Folklore and mythology is rife with things like this... the succubus... the incubus... feeding off energy of a sleeping victim (usually sexual)
How about alien experimentation. Use your imagination with this one. Probing your brain, toying with your memories and emotions to whatever end.
Alter Dimensional Beings.... Energy Vampires....
Choose your own favorite consipracy theory involving malevolent governmental or nwo manipulation.
Religion might describe it as an encounter with a demon. An evil spirit. Voodoo... bad ju ju...
You mentioned your own negative energy, which I feel is one of the prime movers in this question... BUT... WHY... and HOW... and WHO... or WHAT...
Now I know Im not answering any of your questions, just postulating more. I honestly feel that there is no ONE CORRECT answer to this particular query, or for that matter.... anything that is even remotely related.
Regardless of the vehichle you choose to describe the phenomenon, it is all essentially the same thing. Its all negativity, and its causing you dischord.
Choose a vehichle, and follow its tracks. Study mythology... Hang a dream catcher, burn some incense, get yourself psychoanalysed, fashion yourself a tinfoil hat and don it before bed.

I dont know if there is a topical solution for what we've experienced. Because everyone will explain it in different terms, and others will respond according to their beliefs.
Search out the cause of the negative vibes, ponder the interaction with your sister.

Thanks for posting, Ashen.  I thought that you expressed some helpful ideas.

Re: Hostile Dream Manipulation.

Hi again and thanks for all the replies. Ashen: I referred to my own negative vibes due to the fact that there's a situation approaching whereby I may have to be in my sister's company and this has been playing on my mind considerably. So this may well explain the dream itself, but as to the presence I felt...well that's another matter. I agree there may not be a definitive answer as to the nature of the beast, but I'm reluctant to accept the scientific view of hallucinations etc, simply because it's the answer I've seen given on T.V/in the press and that in itself makes me suspicious.

Limukala: Your experience is something I've never come accross before and it certainly adds a new dimension to the subject. Three people seeing the same thing and under those circumstances, well that certainly suggests these things are actual entities with a purpose.

It was my first experience of these things some years ago that convinced me they are real. For anyone who is interested I'll describe what happened, because it was on a different level to what occured the other night:

I dreamt I was lying on my bed, on my front and facing towards my bedroom door, which was closed. I became aware of a big ball of white light that had begun to slowly move along the hallway outside my bedroom and as it got nearer I began to feel a little uneasy. It stopped outside my room and I could see the bright light coming under the space at the bottom of the door and the next thing I knew it had filled my room. At this point I woke up (again half sleeping with eyes shut but able to see) and I was in the same postion as in the dream whereby I was on my front with my head turned to the left. Then I realised the thing from my dream was still with me in my room, no light but an overwhelming presence of pure evil. I 'knew' it was behind and above me but when I tried to turn over and look I found I was paralysed and at this point I felt the worst fear I've ever known in my life.

My left hand was next to my face and despite all my efforts to move, the most I could manage was to slightly twitch my index finger, at which point a large greyish 'matter' for want of a better word, moved from behind me down to my side and began watching my finger intently as I struggled to break free. As it did so I felt a horrible mocking coming from this thing and I knew it was enjoying my obviously terrified state. I could just make out the basis of a face on whatever it was, but not a complete face; it was sort of blurred into the greyness but still clear enough to make out a sneer. What happened next sounds too child-like to be credible but I'll say it anyway: The face moved a tad closer to my own and then it made the kind of daft sound a kid makes when he's trying to do a comical ghost impression, sort of like 'whoooaaaaa' in a 'scary' laughing kind of way, almost like it was taking the 'P'. It then moved forward and through my door/wall space. As it did so I felt a ripple of energy that started at my toes and then travelled up my body to the top of my head, moving in time to the motion of the thing as it shifted forward. Imagine if your body was made entirely of water and someone dropped a stone into your toe area causing a ripple to travel up your body-that's how it felt. No sooner had the thing left my room and the ripple reached my head then the paralysis was broken and I was able to turn over and sit up (which as I'm sure you can imagine I did pretty damn quick!).

The following night I was sleeping on my back and I again half awoke and could feel something in the room, but there was nothing to see. I felt something grab at the duvet and lift it sharply off my upper chest. I was scared but also angry that I was being bothered again and I shouted at it in my mind to 'get the **** off me' as well as calling it something unprintable, at which point the hold broke and I woke up. The duvet hadn't moved at all in 'real-time'.

Finally, on the third night I again awoke but with only a very slight awareness of a presence in the room. I felt calm and for some reason I'm unsure of, I felt confident that if I remained calm and just quietly and patiently waited for the thing to go away, then it would. Sure enough that's what happened a short time later and there were no more occurances thereafter.

Perhaps this is an indication that these things really do feed on fear and when they are met with a controlled emotional state there is nothing to keep them there? But who knows...it could be different strokes for different folks.

Long post-hope you're still awake:)

Re: Hostile Dream Manipulation.

ok so the manipulated 'truth' of science and the media doesnt do it for you. as you said, different strokes for different blokes.

you say 'these things' and Im not discounting that the phenomena could in fact be an external manifestation, but I also cant deny that the very similar experiences Ive had and how they could be completely INternal. How powerful is our mind, to be able to synthesize from our intellect, our ego and our emotional state, any number of sinister and overwhelming scenarios.

I hope you dont think Im arguing with you here.  But I keep reading 'THEY' and 'IT' or 'THEM' without anything to crystalize these terms into something at least half solid.
I just feel that sometimes we put too little stock in our internal state of affairs, and put too much into blaming our emotional and spiritual upsets upon the external.

But I can tell your mind is made up on the topic.
I hope that whatever is causing the dreams can be mollified.

Re: Hostile Dream Manipulation.

That's fair comment Ashen. When I say convinced it's more a case of believing in something external until I find something to offer a decent counter perspective, so that's not to say I'm not open to new ideas. I find your suggestions thought provocing and I admit I hadn't previously given much consideration to the idea of internal influences being the reason for what happened. Having seen something  that seemed so 'real' it's easy to jump to a knee-jerk conclusion as to what it may have been.

The fact is until I know for sure what the cause is/was then I would be foolish to settle on any one idea, so maybe now my mind is a little more open regarding the matter.

If I have any more like-occurances I won't bother with further drawn out descriptions (I promise). Instead I'll stick to any new developments to see if they shed light on the underlying cause.

Thanks for your views, they're always welcome - arguing or not;)

Re: Hostile Dream Manipulation.

Hey no worries.
Thats why this forum is here no? a discussion. an exchange of ideas.
Dont worry about the long drawn out descriptions, its a release process. Out with the bad, in with the good.... uhhhm, wax on wax off.... wink

Re: Hostile Dream Manipulation.

GreenT, I like reading those long descriptions because it helps me to see similarities in what you've experienced with what I have.  Keep writing, and folks like me will keep reading!

BTW== I've seen something similar to your scary gray face, too.  Mine had long, wild hair and a ghastly white head with no body, large, dark eyes, and a gash for a mouth.  It scared the crap out of me on several occasions when I was a kid.

Re: Hostile Dream Manipulation.

Sometimes animals react negatively to invisible beings lurking in the room. They are more impartial as observers. Our cat often senses when something is around, and this correlates with my experiencing a sudden change in mood and energy levels.

I actively document and analyze my dreams and know the difference between meaningful ones and pointless ones. Manipulated dreams are pretty obvious because they carry no message, yet are very emotionally intense and draining. A couple times I have woken suddenly from one only to see a black funnel shape pulling back away from my face and disappearing into the ceiling.

It seems that such things are usually invisible unless we are in an altered state of consciousness, one that happens naturally in between waking and sleeping. It's the same state that often comes with sleep paralysis, but I think it's because the etheric body being dislodged from the physical during sleep prevents movement of the physical. As far as I can tell, this same etheric state causes our vision and thinking processes to shift from the purely physical to the etheric, so when deeply in this state it's possible to think nonlinearly and even see with eyes closed.

About ten times now I have experimented with taking a nap and opening my eyes suddenly when about to drift off, so that I am receiving physical visuals while partially in the twilight state. For about ten seconds I can see all sorts of interesting "things" floating about the room. They range from tissue-like floaters to transparent amoeba critters, to black raisin-like specks clustered near the ceiling. A truly hallucinogenic state should have involved less realistic stuff like floating soda bottles or upside down traffic lights.

So my guess is that while our dreams can be the result of internal issues, sometimes external feeders can also play a part, especially if other indicators like animals reacting, or perceiving dark figures while in a twilight state of consciousness, accompany such a dream.  It is true that different belief systems have different explanations, but those that are based on logical thinking and intuitive deduction   from the widest spectrum of data would be closer to the truth than the more dogmatic or superstitious ones.

Any astral/etheric feeder would maximize energy extraction by probing you for what will push your buttons, scare you, or lure you. So the exact dream will be unique to your own fears and weaknesses. I have not figured out yet how to reliably "vacuum" the room of etheric junk, but I've had success staving off negative entity encounters by confidently intending before going to sleep that the entire room be protected from such things, raising my vibes momentarily and visualizing my positive energy imprinting the room.

Re: Hostile Dream Manipulation.

I have an idea, maybe this thread could be devoted to those who interpret the "entity, demon, it, them, they" or whatever to be real or realer than we are and to also be outside ourselves.  Another thread could be devoted to those who feel that it is themself or a reflection of them in some manner.

Threads have begun as this one did only to be dead-ended with conflict on some issue and the thread then fizzles.  Since I have been dealing with these entities for many years, and I evaluate them to be outside of myself, I am interested in every morsel of how everyone that recognizes as a foreign being deals with them.

I agree 100%.
