That's kind of disturbing. !
On a completely unrelated sidenote, I had theorized that wearing makeup does something funky to the face, thus causing the need for more makeup to remedy the situation. Maybe others have noticed how makeup-less women who normally wear makeup have skin that looks "raw"? I don't wear that level of makeup, yet my skin doesn't have a raw, washed out look to it. I'm thinking that if I started up with the makeup then eventually my skin would get that way too. Anyway, it's just a theory I have. Best to not get started with the makeup in the first place, as it seems to create a vicious cycle of needing more.
I can only help you in the Photoshop phase ![]()
I do not know or understand much about 'RAW face'.
I only know that cigar lower the vitamin C in the body and vitamin C
is essential for the collagen, so people who smoke got the old look very fast.
Maybe the chemical in some makeup deplete the skin nutrients ?

I suspect that women who normally wear a lot of make-up are often times covering up that "raw" look, but I could be wrong. I don't wear much myself, because I want people to recognize me when I don't! But I've seen lots of women who look so much different without make-up, they look wrong when going natural. I think that's just because we're not used to seeing them that way.
But I do know that women who have bad skin are just making things worse when they cover it up instead of treating it. When I was in high school, there was a girl who re-applied her make-up in every class. She had it layered on so thick you could have cracked it with a hammer. One day, she was lamenting her latest break-out. I matter-of-factly said, "Maybe you wouldn't have so many skin problems if you didn't wear so much make-up." The look she gave me could have peeled paint off the wall (or the paint on her face). But hey-- it was just a suggestion. ![]()
Ah yes, the age of the extreme makeover, let's all spackle our faces so we can attract even more superficial types.
I'll go with the 'before', before they made her unnaturally pale, stretched her neck and bulged her eyes.
We all have imperfections, those who are willing to let it show regardless of the consequences are much more likely to be "real" in other aspects.
It's beyond sad we have girls growing up who are so obsessed with their appearance that they'll literally have panic attacks about the smallest blemish.
I also don't believe for a second that all of a sudden Dove cares. Either way.
When I see little girls trying to emulate
their favorite pop/porn stars, I hafta wonder if the parents have any soul at all.
Same goes for the boys wanting to grow up and be Steroid Sports Superstars, both are definetely pod characteristics.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Shame so many of the beholders are attracted to cookie-cutter images....

I hate wearing make-up, it feels like a mask on my face. Besides, Im always wondering what women REALLY look like underneath their makeup. Do they think they are fooling everybody that thats what they really look like without all that goop on their faces?
Matrix V, which was full of a lot of female-bashing mysoginistic mentalities, pointed out that women painting their eyes with mascara, that is making dark black circles around the eyes, was a Reptilian motif to make a victim focused on the predator's hypnotic gaze just before the kill. Observe how many jeans and fashion adds have a heroin-chic, "strange" looking woman with extremely "dark" eyes gazing into your soul. Yikes! Even since a young age, I found makeup to be much more bizarre than attractive... and I always thought about how women would have to wash it all off at the end of the day, what a pain... like too much hair gel in your hair or something..

I tried to find a link to an article I saw a few months ago about a Chinese fashion show for children... there was a photo of a girl who could not have been more than 8, and she was posed in the most *seductive* body posture (hips jutting out to the side, slumped shoulder, sassy pout, dark eyes) with sparkly pole-dancer-lookin' clothes on... and apparently this was a hot new fashion for pre-teens in China! It looked like soft child porn, and it was a Yahoo news article! The picture was worth a 1000 words, but you know what I mean I'm sure..

Hey, Th33tim3- you keep talking about Matrix V, and I really want to read it. Unfortunately it's just so darned expensive. Do you have any links to a download version? Even if I had to pay for the download, it would probably be less expensive than the hard copy. If not, and if you're done reading your copy, I will buy it from you. I can even send a postage-paid label if you know the approximate weight of it.
Now, back to our regularly scheduled program: I once heard another theory that the red lips and darkened eyes was supposed to mimic a woman who had been beaten up, and that men found that attractive on an animal level. I have no idea if it's true, but that would be almost as creepy as the Reptilian gaze theory.
But regarding China: both China and Japan have a serious pedophelia thing going on. It's almost publicly sanctioned that adults should find children attractive in a sexual way.

I thought these transformations were quite shocking:

"This photo was taken at a competition in June.
The competition was between 9 women who had to have makeovers,
They had every possible beauty treatment available to them over a period of time.
Look at the before and after photos...top to bottom.
Conclusion - there are no homely women, only poor women......
if you only have the money...."

Wow, do I feel beautiful all of a sudden!!
Seriously, I quit wearing makeup years ago when I dediced that if someone didn't like me based on the way I look, then I didn't want to be around that person anyways. I wore a small amount when I was younger, to try and fit it. But alas, not even the makeup would be enough to make me part of the clicks... I've even given up on the fro action. I don't know when the last time was that I curled my hair. I do blow dry it during the winter so my head won't freeze.
Course now I'm hugely grateful that I never fit in with the rest of them, and now I also know why!!
Momma always said, "Beauty is only skin deep". She always told me that whenever I was feeling down about not being as pretty as these models. Now I see that they look just as rugged as me in the morning--if not more. At least people know who I am from the moment I wake up until I lay my head down for more beauty sleep ![]()
Thanks for the lift!! (pun intended)
