Topic: Chavez calls Bush "the devil"

From the Associated Press................

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez called President Bush "the devil"in a speech to the Unitied Nations on Wednesday, making the sign of the cross in a dramatic gesture and accusing him of "talking as if he owned the world".
"Yesterday, the devil came here", Chavez said, referring to Bush's address before the U.N. General Assembly on Tuesday. "Right here. Right here. And it smells of sulfur still today, this table that I am now standing in front of".

!  I wonder if it really did, literally?  If so, that's pretty revealing.............

Whoaaa,  what an insult to the Devil....he's gonna be pretty pissed.

Re: Chavez calls Bush "the devil"

He who smelt it, dealt it... You've got to consider the source....Chavez, who's not so saintly, himself.  I'm not saying that Bush is not the devil, but I highly doubt it... The man's not smart enough, nor charismatic enough.  Besides, he's just a puppet.

Re: Chavez calls Bush "the devil"

Yep, Pinky, like I said in another post, he's not the devil, it's his handlers and
supporters.  But he's so full of himself his ego might qualify too.

They bring a port-a-potty where ever he goes so no one can find out what
kind of drugs they keep feeding him to keep him appearing normal.
Now what does THAT tell you?  They might just find some BS.

I'm not saying Chavez is wonderful, but he's telling it like it is as far as
the way the us is trying to run the world.
The Iranians wouldn't be trying to become nukies if we hadn't f*cked them
over.  Wonder why we're called The Great Satan by them?

LOL!  I use that one all the time!

But seriously, I understand that Chavez isn't a saint himself, but his people are happy.  He makes caring for the poor (and there are a lot of them there)  a top priority.  So even if he's Satan's right hand man, he's one up on our Prez when it comes to the ladder out of Hell.

But in another way, I'm tickled that another world leader is calling it like it is.  All the other countries are scared of our wannabe cowboy government.  But this guy thumbs his nose at Shrub every chance he gets.  Like that offer of oil and gas, or offer of aid after Katrina.  He may not be a saint, but I like the guy.

Re: Chavez calls Bush "the devil"

The thing that really makes my skin crawl is the fact that all these leaders and politicians are playing right into the hands of the prophesies by dragging religion into their comments.  This entire schmookle of a worldly mess has nothing to do with religion, yet there seems to be more and more of it mixed in and used as an excuse to fuel their agendas.  It's becoming a mockery, almost like they all should have bumper stickers saying "My God's gonna kick your God's ASS", and in small print, "and then we'll split up the money and oil MY way".

Bush is a dumbass for constantly making religious references in his speeches, which confuse the sheeple by making them feel like it's a Christian vs Muslim thing.  The terrorists are loving it, because such idiocy just serves to fuel their recruiting, proclaiming "Jihad", in return.  The new Pope is a dumbass for not picking a better quote (I swear John Paul II must be rolling over in his grave!).  And now Chavez is jumping on this religio-politico bandwagon, hoping to stir up people's chutzpah, and drive his campaign further, as well.  It's all leading up to replaying history in a religious battle of epic proportions.  In reality, though, the only reason religion is dragged into any political conflict is as a powerful motivator for the people they want to fight the wars for them.  Propaganda.

Re: Chavez calls Bush "the devil"

You're right on target Pinky.
Couldn'ta said it better myself.

But you gotta be still so the transporter room can get a fix on ya!

Re: Chavez calls Bush "the devil"

I have thought for a while that chavez is possibly not that bad of guy.  Even after reading the list of charges against him that Pinklyrq posted, Bush accomplishes that much tyranny in one day, our media just doesn't report it.  Face it as long as there is government people will have to do something unsavory to get in power, if you disagree then name an instance when it doesnt happen.  Chavez has done many things to show he has good ideals and is willing to risk everything to attempt to make the world a better place.  Contrast to Bush who is trying to make the world a better place for Big Oil.  Chavez has offered to host a world wide cooperative investigation into the unanswered no questions to 911.  I believe Chavez has offered the US oil at $50 a barrel, something we have repeatedly turned down while the Big oil makes record profits off $70 a barrel oil.  And yes Chavez calls the Devil, but even I do that, and I don't believe in the devil.

I believe Idealistic leaders are a hope for the future of humanity, at the same time misguided Idealist leaders could instagate the downfall of this civilization.

Re: Chavez calls Bush "the devil"

Indeed.  We are at a point in time where we are vulnerable to some charismatic leader
taking control.  But remember what happened to the Brown Shirts who helped put
Hitler into power.  Their loyalty was rewarded with SS firing squads.

I don't believe in the Devil either.  When I call someone that, it is for effect.
Just take off the D and you have the core meaning:  evil.

Re: Chavez calls Bush "the devil"

I agree, Captain smile  I'm not saying that Chavez is 'the devil' either. *has Waterboy flashback*   I actually find Chavez's comments to be rather humorous (if it weren't for all the rest of the religious references being thrown around the political arena lately).  But I also think that all the politicians and leaders live in 'glass houses' of their own design, and they should toss their stones more carefully.

That's what worries me... what methods will be used to bring about the downfall of this civilization, and what will be left.

LOL!!  Oh yeah, I forgot about that crucial detail!... No wonder I felt a little 'beside myself'! big_smile

Armageddon Politics, indeed, SiriArc!  There's always hope, though. (I hope)

Pictus, thanks for giving your perspective!  Good to hear what's really going on from the people who are directly affected by him.
