That would be really good to copy and distribute to help wake people up - because many people would be drawn to it since it says 'IM STUPID' at the top, people would initially want to read it to reinforce thier own superiority over others.
lol look like I fell in a tackle box. And they do!!
"Since my body didn't come with an owner's manual,
I didn't even both to try to make one up."
How true. This reminds me of when I was temping at the Baptist church earlier this year, and I was talking to the (obese) woman who was the food pantry donations volunteer worker, and so anyhoo, there she is, telling me about buying some snacks for some party thing for some little kids........and how she chose Gummi Bears as the snacks, because "they're healthier" because "they're fruit, they're one of the food groups."
And no, she was absolutely totally serious. This wasn't "ahahaha!" kidding around, like, "Aren't I clever!" No, she went on to elaborate that by eating gummi bears you were getting your daily dose of fruit.
I stared at her in all her approx. 250+ pound glory, saying that with such head nodding conviction, thinking "oh..........my............god........." I just nodded, like, "OOOOHHH-kay," and turned back to my work. At this point in the game, if she weighs 250 pounds and thinks Gummi Bears = Fruit, then forget it, I'm not even going there.
"Hi, I'm stupid!"
Stupid is her first name...
I can not imagine the last...
She got no mind! ![]()
Looks like a “good" candidate to succeed George Bush in the presidency. ![]()
Sinaptix that's freakin cool... witty!

Yeah, well, her logic was that Gummi Bears have fruit juice in them. So, they're just as good as eating fruit. But the problem is, I think most gummis are artificially flavored. Very few are actually made with real 'fruit juice' and if they are, it's so negligent it doesn't count. I think some overweight people look for excuses to justify eating bad food.
Anyway, that site is funny. It would be a good thing worth printing and distributing, it's an attention grabber. Some items on there I would modify if I did, but still, it's pretty good as is. Here's a thought though........for all those out there who haven't woken up to the things that are found on the "I'm stupid" list, do you think they can be woken up by this point? I pose this question to anybody. My experience has shown that for those who are really really asleep, and haven't yet seemed to notice the things mentioned on that list, then they're not budging. I've tried myself to "plant seeds" and make comments, both subtle and obnoxious, and nearly ALL of it has been met with blank stares, puzzled looks, or outright mocking me for questioning the mainstream. So, just curious what people believe the reaction might be by the mainstream masses when confronted by this.....
OH! And just remembered a relevent example pertaining to the list....the list mentions flu vaccines....WELL....at that same aforementioned church temp job, some woman came into the office looking for the pastor who was out sick that day. The discussion gets around then to the flu. She mentions, Oh, EVERYBODY I know has the flu, and so many people are getting the flu shot, blah blah blah, just basically promoting the "status quo" about "get the flu shot! Or else you'll get sick!"
I'm sitting there and I realize....Ha! This is my opportunity to speak up! So I did. I said, "You know, I've never gotten a flu shot - NEVER - and I don't get the flu. In fact, I'd venture as far as to say that those who get the shot actually get sick because of it, and if they didn't take it they'd be just fine."
Her response? Not what I expected, let's just put it that way. She relaxed a little and immediately agreed, "Yeah, me too. I never get it...." then went on to explain with conviction that yeah, she believes it's not healthy to take either.
So why then was she standing there just promoting it? In my opinion, she was trying to make small talk and picked a subject, and a personal stance, that she figured we would agree with....so she could chat with us, be polite, while "fitting in." I can understand that, and actually felt a little bad for her. But it made me realize....sometimes people sound like they're part of the mainstream, but they're just parotting what they think everybody else wants to hear, so they can fit in........but it's not actually what they really believe.........and all it takes is one person to speak up and disagree with them in an intelligent way for them to backpeddle and admit how they really feel!
Amazing! Makes me seriously wonder then how many others out there really don't believe the status quo and are just going along with things on the surface to fit in. Although as mentioned, I haven't had much success when I speak up and contradict, question, or point out absurdities in this world. But you never know. There just may be one or two left out there willing to listen.
i looked because i'm stupid too
...for all those out there who haven't woken up to the things that are found on the "I'm stupid" list, do you think they can be woken up by this point?
There are many people out there who generally still 'officially subscribe' to the mainstream, but inside there is a growing suspicion that something isn't right. There is a growing tension in many people, between their gut/soul/intuitive feelings -- and what the official story is which they are being sold.
The way I see it, this tension will either produce a point of crisis, which can be a very good thing, or it will subside and their souls will lose. The people who lose will do so because the mind programming methods will completely erradicate free will. The people who win will do so because they will realize the power of their will/spirit, and will retain and strengthen their free will.
A number of people I know, firmly still in the grid, are starting to respond to some 'prodding' or questions I will pose to them now... but didn't previously. The thing is, the human ego has never been so threatened, so attempts to 'prod' seem to be always more successful when it is done so without their ego feeling like it's being told it's stupid. The ego will do anything to avoid being subjugated/invalidated (or feeling like it's being subjugated/invalidated). As soon as that happens, it's maybe not game over... but it's round over. The time of hitting someone over the head with any truth is waning. But, that doesn't mean that the opportunities to wake people up are any less. Not at all.
Amazing! Makes me seriously wonder then how many others out there really don't believe the status quo and are just going along with things on the surface to fit in.
Lyra, that is an accurate perception I think. I also think it directly relates to what I'm talking about. People are sooo looking for meaning. When they don't find it anywhere else, they JUST want to fit in. "At LEAST let me find I'll find meaning in the groups/people I associate with!" - average disillusioned person. And people are so disillusioned, and many are becoming more aware of it. But that doesn't mean it's easy to just change on a dime 180 degrees, and admit they have been completely tricked by control structures -- especially with a)the ego in 'threatened' mode, and b)the powerful (perceived) need to fit in.
There just may be one or two left out there willing to listen.
In a world of say 7 Billion, there are maybe 1 or 2 Billion I'd estimate could be 'prodded' to think for themselves. (Many of the say 2 Billion prospects are already conscious.) This encouragement to think for themselves will either come from within, or from other people - in fact probably both. But first they have to realize they have the opportunity to do so, and it will be a huge help if they didn't feel threatened. Sounds illogical if not ludicrous - ie. to say that humans have to be prodded out of their programming instead of simply thinking for themselves - but it's the human being in its current conditioned state. They have to feel it is okay for them to do so... that they will be okay.
I hate to be the only dissenter here, but here's an alternative I came up with:
Hi, I'm an arrogant asshole!
I believe everyone should subscribe to the exact same counter-culture principles that I do, and enjoy feeling superior to anyone who hasn't read the same articles as I have. Spouting my philosophy to everyone who will listen makes me feel good about myself, and thanks to my purity, I have a right to be smug and self-righteous! Nevermind the fact that everyone I know thinks I'm a douche-bag and that I've alienated even those who might otherwise listen for fear that they, too will morph into a loud-mouth churl.
Seriously, folks, I doubt anyone here actually thinks that article is helpful to anyone. We're all on a learning curve here, and I believe it's better to lead by example than cram propaganda (even well-intentioned propaganda) down others' throats.

Hey... stop making fun of your other selves. I'm only joking of course, but really... if we are one then you guys are essentially making fun of yourselves.
I try to think of people as being ignorant, rather than stupid. It's hard but I don't think it does anyone any good to be treated as if they are stupid (or in need of "help") and I know if I continually think of others that way it is just going to put more distance between me and them. Uh, but maybe distance is what I want sometimes...hmmn...
Anyway I am one who doesn't really speak up about things, unless I feel that someone might be receptive to what I have to say. People really have to think for themselves. There are things I see now, that I wouldn't have believed a few years ago, but now I see things differently. But I had to see for myself.
I believe that most people I know really ARE aware that things are just not right in the world. They are just missing pieces of the bigger picture. We all have different pieces and if we all start talking and put those pieces together, maybe we can figure out what to do. But sometimes people are just not willing to listen, they are holding on to their one little piece, maybe feeling like it's the only thing they have that is safe.
With things like eating habits, what people do with their bodies, it's all a matter of personal choice anyway. Bottom line is people are not going to change unless they get really tired of being the way they are. If they are looking for other options, then it's fine to say well ok, this is what I do. But otherwise I leave it alone, because there's no need making someone feel defensive, or laying a guilt trip on them.
There are always going to be new warnings about what foods and chemicals are bad for you. It changes all the time. What is considered healthy today might be on the list of dangers tomorrow, and vice versa. I think a lot of people are so jaded by all that, they just don't pay much attention to it anymore.
But the average person, regardless of how they might try to rationalize things (like gummi bears = fruit juice, omg, hahahaha!), knows damn well that eating junk food all the time, or smoking a pack a day, or drinking a six-pack a day is really not the healthiest way to be. People generally abuse their bodies because they lack self-worth, so calling them stupid for it is probably not going to help.
You know... not much is funny in the world if you don't make fun of people... yet laughter keeps us sane... So making fun of other people makes us sane... It's all starting to make sense...
