Re: Theory on Reality
Example of a physical law: Law of gravity
Example of a metaphysical law: Law of Cause and Effect
I would say that these are not Laws. These are concrete building blocks of what we refer to as reality. The fact that refer to them as a law is merely for ease of communication. A law would be "You cannot do this or this will happen". The "Law of Gravity" cannot be broken. It is not possible. There will always be a force pulling towards the center of an object. Even flying is not breaking the "law". Flight compensates for the downward thrust, it is not breaking it, it is just creating an opposite and more powerful force. I know that you can read this and interpret it to say that Gravity is in fact a law, but please try to understand that im explaining my viewpoint as best as possible, and take it the way i mean it.
How do you know for sure? What is the basis for this perspective?
One could argue that there are no certainties in this world. You can only go off of what you have observed and felt to be true. Of course, that path of argument would eventually deteriorate to petty bickering, so i will just say that As of right now, my idea that the universe does not come with laws, or a guide, is the most reoccuring concept i have seen when it comes to who holds power, and who decides laws.
All things are connected even if you do not realise it.
There is always outside influence.
Therefore by your definition, nothing is natural.
Connection and manipulation are two different things. I will use the deer and wolf analogy again. A deer and wolf are connected, but neither intentionally manipulates the others natural evolution. A wolf chases a deer. A deer runs from a wolf. A wolf does not intentionally change the evolutionary process of the deer so it becomes slower or weaker, and a deer does not intentionally change the wolf to be less of a predator. They do influence eachother, but there is no intentionaly manipulation occuring.
Again it depends on what you mean by intelligence.
A big problem in this society is ignorance, which is a lack of intelligence.
People are educated in this society, read hundreds of books and understand hardly anything. This is programming and not intelligence.
Programming is the problem. Intelligence, which is understanding and consciousness, is the solution.
This is a very good point, and is going to be added to my theory on reality. Intelligence and programming are two different things, and i stand corrected.
Are we only accountable to ourselves?
Or maybe a collective self?
In my eyes, we are only accountable for ourselves. Life's soul purpose is the pursuit of what you want to do. Other individuals are mainly used for that goal. It is a harsh view, but as of right now i have yet to find a higher meaning in life then doing what you feel you should do.
I know many are going to argue this view, and i welcome it. I dont really enjoy having this viewpoint, but it is how i feel right now, and im hoping someone will say something to change my mind.
The level of freewill varies too much from person to person to say this absolutely. Sometimes a reptilian has more freewill, sometimes less.
Please don't take what i say so literal. I'm sure you understood what i was getting at with the reference.
when freewill cannot be outright violated, it can still be manipulated by something with lesser freewill but greater intelligence and technology.
I would say that this argument contradicts your point about a cow having less freewill then a human. What im getting from this statement is that freewill is limited by intelligence and technology, which i do not agree with. I may be misinterpreting your statement, so correct me if i am. I do not agree that there are degrees of free will. A persons free will can only be changed through some form of mind control. Free will is only limited by a persons determination, but it is still always there. So basically, i read your comment as "When free will cannot be outright violated, intelligence and technology can control your thoughts" which i do not feel is the same as manipulating free will.
Then regardless of how it used to be, there are laws now.
Im not saying that laws dont exist, im saying that they arent natural to the universe, and only exist while something with power enforces them. Any law is a way of suppressing natural life and instinct, and in my eyes it hinders the development of your true self.
