Thanks for the tip of the site Aquarius,
Recently been looking into the side effects of statins. 2 people I know had syncope, (with loss of consciousness), muscle pain, and headaches as a result of these drugs. One of them I drove to ER, whereby their bloodpressure bottomed out to 56/38 !!!!!!!!!!
Don't usually butt in (try not to) in the ER, but this was not being handled in a triage matter, and I just yelled out "get the crash cart, we have a possible code blue in progress!" Thank goodness the doc's and seasoned nurses responded and handled the situation before things got real ugly (like throwing a clot). It took great restraint on my part dealing with a rather "snot nosed" newbie medical assistant attempting to call the shots, but that was the least of my worries during this crisis. Anyways, the patient was stabilized and spent the next day under observation.
Statins are dangerous drugs, wouldn't be surprised if they get pulled off the shelves in the future, but sadly the profits come first and foremost with many drug companies.
A side note, I noticed my cholesterol went way down after taking evening primrose oil, others have also noticed the same.
