Well, since I participated, and continue to participate in the topics of those threads (I distinctly recall making a comment on the hotness of Gemma Ward, for example), then I am "slamming" myself just as much as anybody else.

As a point of logic, how is it that I'm simultaneously slamming "any and all people" as well as certain people in particular?  Seems like a contradiction to me.

lyra wrote:

Sure, but this is a public messageboard with almost 1000 registered users with varied interests.  We can't all be only discussing SHAFTA and topics that you deem important in lieu of everything else.  Besides, by putting the focus on hybrids and channeling you make it seem like that's the typical norm for what's discussed around here.  It's not.  I'll take it upon myself though to apologize on behalf of the entire NR forum that there aren't more angry current events topics being discussed around here.  wink

I think the statistics on "replies" and "views" for various posts speak for themselves as to which are the most popular topics on NR, and of course it's obvious that the range of topics discussed here is very broad. I used the topics of hybrids and channeling because they are both topics that I very heavily participate in, and that I also happen to believe are closely connected to the topics of politics and economics.

lyra wrote:

I'm not quite sure what you are getting at here, however it seems to me that you are making assumptions about my intentions and personal judgments which are incorrect.

lyra wrote:

But why lash out at people for the fact that it wasn't brought up before you decided to talk about it?

I'm not lashing out at people for not bringing up the subject.  Where did you get that from?

I'm lashing out at the prevalent belief that people are powerless against TPTBs and that having global fascist agendas shoved down our throats is just something we have to accept as the way things are.

I'm expressing frustration that otherwise intelligent, powerful, and spiritual people can't seem to move beyond living paycheck to paycheck and don't see, or refuse to look at, the connection between their financial affairs and their spiritual affairs.

I'm not saying that you, or anybody else on this forum is one of those people, since I don't know anybody from this forum personally.

What, exactly, is it that you think I am presuming?

I happen to believe that the posters on this forum are at the forefront of investigation of that concept, when it applies, and how to apply it effectively.

lyra wrote:

Also, you're snidely attacking people on NR for "create your own reality", hybrids, channeling discussions, etc. (implying that we're lala land new agers, and that's all that's ever discussed around here, which is not true) as if we're the problem here.  We're not.  You're lashing out at the very group of people that are supposed to be on your side.

Seriously, if I believed that the people here were all "lala land new agers", I wouldn't continue to post on NR.  I think we're having a major incongruence of perception here.  I'm not sure what else to say.  I feel like I'm defending myself against a counterattack against something which was perceived as a personal attack, when it wasn't.  If that makes any sense.

I dunno Lyra, I just went on a rant maybe cause I'm short on sleep and in a cranky mood.  It was an outburst of negative emotion.  Perhaps unwarranted and misplaced, but again, not directed towards anybody in particular, but toward things and people in general.  I apologize for any misperception, and have half a mind to go back and delete the post if it was really that offensive.

Um?  I don't believe I have ever advocated or insinuated that I believe violent opposition and militancy are the solution to anything.  Or were you speaking in a more metaphorical sense?

If anything I would like to motivate a call to awareness, and to promote the idea that we (humanity in general) are not as helpless as we have been led to believe.

I did present the issue, and I even started another thread for people in the E.U. to comment about how adding another level of government has affected their lives.  I thought perhaps it would be better to learn what other people might propose as solutions.  So far, nobody has taken advantage of the opportunity.

Which tells me that either people don't really find the topic important, they don't feel they have anything to contribute to it, or worse, are scared to even talk about it.

Or perhaps you are right, and people are just starting to avoid my posts because I come off as a pompous ass who does nothing more than launch attacks at people while thinly disguising them as open discussion.

Re: SHAFTA

tenetnosce, I understand your frustration on this subject, because I fully share it.

People feel like they have no choice but to acquiesce, because the game is indeed fixed.

Solutions cannot be forthcoming immediately, as the issue is new to us all, and must be debated in order to reach good conclusions.

All us westerners have to go on are examples we have seen globally, and things we have been taught.

These are the only 'warnings' we have.

BTW I hope some folks DO respond to your thread about life in the EU, I hope the lack of response is not due to fear.

I am quite interested in hearing what they have been living with the last decade or so.

The real contradiction here is that we have all been fed myths, about "allegiance", about God and Country, and the hand on heart bullshit.

Then when we see our "patriotism" for what it really is, we get mad 'cuz they lied ABOUT the lies!

This is what I call a Catch 44, damned if ya don't...don't.

As much as I hate propaganda, I must also recognize how effective it is.

10 years ago, I wouldn't have cared a lick what my gov't was morphing into, now I can't seem to escape reality.

I WANT to do SOMETHING!

Knowing how the system is rigged, I will refrain from any of the usual tactics, this one must be approached with extreme caution.

That don't mean I feel powerless, it only means I will strategize far in advance of acting.

As far as that goes, people have their own ideas, and most of them are intelligent enough to know that at times they cannot share them openly.

I have no solutions, however I do have a suggestion.

That is, YOU need to decide how much God and Country matters to you, yourself, how many of those fairy tales, even though they are total crap, still hold true.

This is one of those few examples where I do need to ask the heart.

Logic will take a backseat on this one in my case.

Getting too heated about our situation will only augment the divide and conquer tactics which already work against us.

I am guilty of my own past transgressions, I'll do it no more.

Patriotism :  Tribalism.  A reflection of the 2nd imprint (anal/territorial imprint) in psycology.  Top dog/bottom
dog.  Nationalism inspired by the alpha males and females at the top of the totem pole.  Usually
invoked by the top dogs to incite the masses in doing something that is really wrong or benefits
their pockets.  Sometimes used to justify injustices or cover up hideous acts like ignoring all the
warnings concerning a japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, perhaps blowing up the Maine in Havana,
Cuba, covert operations in Vietnam, lying about WMD in Iraq, etc...

Do not allow "patriotism" dictate what your ideas are concerning SHAFTA.  In my view it is the wrong reason for antagonizing this agreement.  Real reasons to be considered would be economics, jurisdiccion and legislative issues and so on. Patriotism means nothing.

Re: SHAFTA

From same topic discussion at another forum:

I found out today that I-66, which is a main "corridor" coming through KY to link with the new international highway is under construction, and has been for some months now. For those who live in Ky, this corridor went right through the middle of Renfro Valley.

gosh, I feel like such an idiot not to have known about this. Several people I asked weren't aware either. They just thought it was another new road.

Over on the homesteading forum, they recently discussed this international highway. Some said they had known about it for 10 years now.

A friend of mine said she had purchased a new atlas and couldn't figure out what all the new road construction was that was indicated going on out in the middle of the US.

Now maybe that's how they do things under our noses.  They just start building or whatever and by the time WTP and Congress find out it's too late, to0 much invested.  I don't know, but I do know that asking if we approve, if we want it, just isn't going to happen.  And Congress will sell us out, because they 1) are paid by the people who'd want this, 2) will miss it when it's sneaked into some innocent sounding legislation, 3) are clueless to what's really going on or pretend to be.

Re: SHAFTA

I found the other analysis I was looking for, it has disappeared from the site, but google still had it cached:

". . . in a grand move that will cement our future as a

third-world pseudo-republic, Bush and Company are

moving forward with their grand dream of globalism:

The NAFTA Super-Highway.

What will this multi-gazillion dollar 10-lane highway do

to America?

It’ll allow imports from all over the world to bypass

American ports by making landfall in Mexico. The

American section of the NAFTA Super-Highway will

stretch from our southern border at Laredo, TX all the

way to Canada along the I-35 and (new) I-69 corridors.

There will be only the most superficial security

measures in place, and low-wage Mexican truckers will

stream unimpeded across our border. Left out in the

cold will be American trucking and logistics companies,

especially union shops. In bypassing union ports and

truck lines, the Bush Administration will effectively

remove the clout of the Teamsters and Longshoremen

unions.

By wrecking the (labor) unions’ ability to exercise a bit

of control over U.S. shipping, the Bush Administration

will fling open the door to lower wages for all workers,

both union and non-union.

Now some of you may be thinking, "but how are they going to get the fuel and energy to make this thing work during energy descent?" Well I suppose one way they can cut costs on everything else (such as labor) they can offset the higher cost of fuel. Another possibility is that billions of dollars and quadrillion of BTUs will just be pissed away and this thing will never get completed. Well actually, "pissed away" may not be the best of terms as the money will actually be lining the pockets of mega-construction firms (like Halliburton?) to build the thing."

Re: SHAFTA

I hate to say it, but unless I'm missing something, these sorts of things are just playing out according to plan, more or less.  At least that's how I'm seeing it.  They may be running a little behind schedule on their planned American Union, but I don't see it being stopped.

Why?  Well, for one, who is talking about these kinds of things in your immediate everyday world?  For me, it's a person here, a person there, MAYBE.  And that's a stretch.  How many even know enough about NAFTA and GATT and the IMF and the World Bank and all the other elite controlled organizations that play into this, to have a conversation about it in the first place?

By and large, I'm sorry to say, I find most are in "la la land" when it comes to these issues, and that's an understatement.  At least, that's what I see.  And I don't think it's much different for many, if not most, that post on this board.  In fact, this is the ONLY place that I see these kinds of things being discussed and written about by others...by that I mean in "Internet land."   Not by people in my everyday world...hardly.

And I, for the most part, have stopped trying to discuss topics like the planned American Union, chemtrails, vaccines, the AIDS scam, the bird flu hoax, UN depopulation (Agenda 21), the Bilderbergers, the Federal Reserve, and on and on.  It's exhausting,  energy-draining, and the glazed over and blank looks you get from most just says it all.  And I don't have a solution.  At least not in the conventional sense.  Just to get to to the awareness stage seems a huge enough hurdle.

Another example that is related -- they have been chemtrailing here so heavily where I live lately, it's just ridiculous.  And yet no one looks up...they're completely and totally oblivious, or so it seems anyway.  It's so obvious, and not ONE single person in my everyday world seemingly has a clue.  Why?  BECAUSE IF IT'S NOT BEING DISCUSSED ON THEIR TV, IT JUST DOESN'T EXIST.  I bring it up with friends, and they just give me a funny look.  Or, just nod their head or whatever, and change the subject.  What? Ha? Chemtrails? What?...

It's really like living in the Twilight Zone.  That's what I liken it to..." doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo"...Rod Serling...he must have known something.  He was a genius or an insider or both.

I keep coming back to the fact that if they can pull off a 9/11, such an obvious inside job, and one so easily exposed and refuted, they can do anything.  And they have and are.

Another example...I see them working on the roads and highways here CONSTANTLY...it seems never-ending....always widening them, more and more.    And I can't help thinking to myself, that's for the military transports they're planning when things really go down.  Now picture trying to explain that one to anyone.  "What? Have you gone mad? Oh, get off it. Come on."

Same with this topic.  NAFTA Superhighway?  American Union?  Do you mean American Idol?  (Now there's something that will spark a long and intricate conversation)!  Like I said...Twilight Zone.

That being said, I do like what limukala wrote here:

limukala wrote:

The problem with political action is that the problems we are dealing with our systemic, rather than superficial problems.  The system IS the problem, so action within the system is always ultimately futile.  This includes tearing it down and replacing it with whatever other utopian form of government you like.  The sad fact is that unless people as a whole change drastically, it is simply impossible to have large societies without large control structures, and large control structures mean hierarchies and the inevitable abuse of power that comes with it.

I definitely agree that the problem is the system itself, though I would suggest that any change of that system, for better or worse, would come through action simultaneously taken from within and without the system.

As far as replacing it with a utopian form of government, I think that it's the illusion of utopia, "heaven on earth" which is exactly the kind of false belief that brings faulty forms of government into existence.

I don't know what a better system would be, but I do know that not many people are really talking about it, and it's been that way for a while.  People seem to have lost sight that government evolves, just like religion or any other social institution.  And it doesn't always evolve for the better, either.

However, everything else aside I think we can safely say two things:

1.  There must be some form of governing society which actually works in all respects.

2.  No form of government that we currently know about seems to fit that description.

The big question is, does humanity have the wherewithal to come up with one on its own?  I really don't know the answer to that.  I've had some great experiences with people which would lead me to say yes, then again ignorance has become so fashionable I wonder if "critical mass" can conceivable be achieved anytime in the near future.  As you said, people would have to change quite drastically.

What concerns me even more is that our "space brothers" may reappear to welcome us into the "Galactic Federation" and that whole bit. . .

limukala wrote:

To kind of bring it back on point, I know it is cliche and cheesy, but we can't deal with TPTB on their turf.

That depends on what you consider their "turf".  I agree with you that "The physical world-politics, military force, etc- is undeniably in "their" control" but I would add that politicians and world-leaders are the servants and not the masters.  The true Powers That Be are not operating from the physical level, hence as you say, we need to take them on the spiritual level.

But what does that really mean?  Is "loving awareness" really the solution? Or is it the result of a more fundamental solution?  It's really hard to have "loving awareness" in a world where it is exceedingly difficult to do what you love.

I would propose to start with simple awareness, and from there to acceptance.  Chances are that I'm not going to wake up tomorrow totally in love with myself and the world forevermore.  But what I can do is go to sleep tonight accepting myself and the experiences I've had today.

limukala wrote:

limukala wrote:

First of all, do I even need to say that this "land of freedom" has never been free, and was created by systemically annihiliting a whole continent of diverse cultures, many of which were FAR FAR more free than ours has ever been.  Second, while the soldiers in the wars may have believed they were dying for noble causes, wars, ALL WARS, are ALWAYS about resources, but almost always cloaked in the cloth of religious or moral or cultural ethics, etc.  IE, contrary to popular legend (ala public schools) the civil war had a lot more to do with the south having a fraction of the ecomonic activity and wealth of the north, yet paying the vast majority of federal taxes.  If anyone was fighting for freedom, it was the southerners (though once again, not really, just fighting for a bigger piece of the pie).  Same story with the revolutionary war.

Or were you thinking of the Mexican American war where we invaded and conquered half of Mexico with no provocation (and kept it to this day).  The indian wars?  Vietnam?  Iraq?  OK, so now your going to say WW2 right, but would we have actually fought Hitler if he hadn't threatened us directly?  Of course not, look how cozy our government is and has been with all sorts or  evil dictatorships.  Maybe none of them killed quite as many people as the nazis but that is only because the weren't as powerful.  Civilization is inherently repressive and controlling, regardless of the outer trappings.

You are correct.  You're not going to hear me defend the government's motives for any of those wars.

What I will say is that I think a distinction needs to be made between "The People" and "The Government".  Governments are invested with power by The People.  They don't have any power in and of themselves.

I think people, and especially Americans, sorely need to be reminded that they are not the government.  "The United States of America" is a federation of states, while "America" is a nation.of people.

The federal government has fought many bloody and horrific wars, and continues to do so.  But only a small portion of the people are physically fighting those wars.  Most people are doing the best they can to go about their business and stay out of the line of fire.

They don't see what is going on.  Even most people in the military don't know what exactly they are fighting for.  People may believe it's for "freedom" and "justice", and you are right, it's not.

Those people do still believe that "freedom" and "justice" are noble causes.  They just have allowed themselves to be lied to about the way to go about pursuing those causes.

So you know, some of our ancestors did fight for "freedom" and "justice" whether or not the fighting actually did much to advance those causes in fact.  And while, as a U.S. citizen, I hardly consider myself free, I do acknowledge that I live in a place and time where I have a lot more freedom than many others.

And people did give their lives for that.  Many of them essentially good, but grossly misled, people who knew nothing about the agendas of the Bank of England, the IRS, the U.S. Treasury, and the entities that control them.

So all they may have won was a few crumbs of freedom to pass on to the next generation, but the least that we can do is value what crumbs we have, rather than throw them away because we don't like the factory that produced it.

There are mechanisms in place within the structure of U.S. law which, if properly understood and used, would result in a much greater degree of freedom for the average American then they currently have.  The problem is that these mechanisms are highly obfuscated, and even the "experts" barely know how to use them correctly.

Nevertheless, they are available to any American who wants to use them.  Sadly, you can't say the same for your average Nigerian, for example.

But the key to using them is money, and unfortunately as wildly popular as the subject is and the incredible amount of time spent pursuing it, most people never bother to find out what money is and how it is used.

Money is, of course, a medium of exchange among people, but it is the only medium of exchange between a person and the government.  Money is all that a government can really acknowledge, and hence a governments actions are representative of where the money is, and not the other way around.

If you don't have money the government does not recognize you, and hence you can have no ability to effect actions taken by the government for you, or to offset actions taken by the government against you.

For most people, money is simply something that you get in exchange for working which you use to acquire goods and services.  This is a narrow definition of money that more closely resembles the term currency.

Money in the broadest sense is anything that is used as a physical representation of value.  Hence, the people with the most money are the ones who place the most value in the physical world.

Now some people value the physical world at the expense of the spiritual world, and there's examples of them all over the place.

There are also a lot of people who value the spiritual world at the expense of the physical.  While usually very lovely people, they tend not to have very much money.  Which is a shame because if they did the world would probably be a much nicer place to live.

Then there are those who use the exchange of money as a means of physically expressing their spiritual values. . . and those are the ones that TPTBs have a hard time getting a handle on.

So to bring it back to the point, the possibility of a new form of money (and a new form of government to go along with it) is a subject which I think is of prime importance to anybody regardless of what they find value in.

Can you or I stop it from happening?  Likely not.  But we can take steps now to reduce, or even eliminate, our need to use it in the future.

It is not for us to understand love, but simply to make space for it.

Re: SHAFTA

It actually could be really simple.  Do I know of a better way of governing?  Sure.  I'm certain that if everyone thought about it they would come up with something as well.  The problem with thinking about it is there seems to be no point.  If you can't put those thoughts into action then it just ends up as frustration and finally resignation.

The system could be turned around in very short order.  Release the black-op technology into the public sphere.  Some zero-point device that can power your home.  Or instructions for changing your gas engine to a water engine.  With the technology that is on this planet right now we could cure all disease, feed everyone, clear all the pollution, dissolve the financial system, and well basically cure all.  I can visualize it.  I can see the steps.  But ultimately, I can't think of anyway to personally bring it to a point of that release of information/technology.  And as was stated several times, the rest of humanity can't be bothered with ending their own suffering.  I can't really argue with billions when I only interact with a few.  They want to continue to suffer and I choose to share this reality.  A match made in hell.

As for government, they would all be dissolved for something profoundly more simple.  Councils.  Representative councils that cannot change the laws that govern them.  There would be an ever growing panel of x-council members that would make up an overseeing group.  In short order, the overseeing group would be bigger than any particular council which would give it leverage to ensure the proper decisions for all are always made.  They would have the ability to veto and suggest.  That's all.  The councils would make the decisions.  And really, there aren't that many laws that need to be made.

When there is no one on the planet that is in need of anything then crime will all but vanish.  Any disagreements would be brought before a council.  Local, regional, national or world level.

A form of socialism would replace the current economic models.  However, it would not be centralized control of resources by the government.  The resources would be owned by all but distributed wisely.  Instead of jobs people would work on projects that benefit the whole.  Their best talents would be used to help everyone.

I could fill in all the little gaps upon further thinking but back to the original point.  There is currently no point.

"You’ve gotta fight...... For your right.......To party." - The Beastie Boys

In this case, "the fight" is the party. So by partying, you are fighting for your right to party. But you are not really fighting, since you are partying. Therefore you already do have the right to party. So by fighting for your right to party, you are winning the fight by fighting because you ARE partying, in which case you are not really fighting at all. All along you had the right to party, but were afraid it wouldn't be worth exercising said right without fighting for it. The most logical way to perform this fight is through resistance (i.e. partying), so you come to realize there was really no reason to fight in the first place.

Just party and forget the fighting.

I used to think free energy would be great, but when you look at the situation, it would actually only hasten the destruction of the planet.  For one thing, it would mean our population could be that much bigger, and therefore that much more of a burden on the planet.  Look at what we've done with the energy we have, used it to make war and rape the earth.  What makes you think free energy would be any different?  All it would do is allow our profoundly sick civilization to prolong its inevitable demise, and make the consequences that much more severe as a result.  There are several times in the past when global civilization was on the verge of collapse.  If that had happened, it would have meant millions of deaths.  Every time some new resource base was discovered just in time, which allowed civilizaiton to expand and develop that much more, and as a result, billions will most likely die when it all crashes (along with at least 50% of the species on the planet).  If we find free energy, without a corresponding MASSIVE shift in collective consciousness, all it would mean is that trillions would die, or even all of humanity, along with the vast majority of species on the planet.  If we manage to colonize other planets, then yeah, we get to destroy and rape the whole universe.  I for one think that sounds like a bad idea, or do you want to be like the aliens in Independence Day?

I don't see humanity in such a way.  Limited choice is what I see to be the biggest cause.  Only a relatively small amount of the population really desires to have power over others to the extent of destroying the planet to get it.  The rest only wish for a life free of misery and lack of choice.  Many humans are still looking for something to guide them.  And if the current cabal is out of the scene then it would be a very simple matter of reversing the psychosis we currently see.  Sure, it will take time.  But not as long as many might think.  The human spirit will rise very quickly when released from this slavery.  Like holding a basketball underwater.  The harder you push it down the higher it will jump above the surface when released.

When in a social situation appropriate to our nature, i.e., small, egalitarian bands, then yes, humans are great.  The problem (and I am going to give the quick and dirty explanation here) is that humans are literally incapable (perhaps at the neurological level, but regardless of why, it is a well documented fact) of convieving of more that around 150 individuals as real human beings (called Dunbar's number, look it up in an anthropology text, or better yet, check out http://anthropik.com/2005/09/thesis-7-h … nd-life/).

I don't want to get into a long winded explanation here, but the long and short of it is that when large groups of people get together (i.e. cities) they are NOT well behaved, regardless of the "cabal" of rulers.  That is why government of some sort is necessary.  Put us out in nature in small groups and of course we all get along lovingly, and the occasional ass is easily dealt with, usually pleasantly.
