Hi everyone this site has a colin cleanse that is herbal and gentle
... colin cleanse ...
Colin was last seen hiding in the corner of the bathroom, whimpering: ":o Please, not the colin cleanse ...
I'm not that dirty..."
... Mriver, I couldn't help that pun on the misspelling!
Sorry, sorry, love me, love me (to quote Stuie Wilde)

Hi everyone this site has a colin cleanse that is herbal and gentle
....herbal and gentle....????!!!!!!... Have you seen the picture of what the "results" are?!
![]()
I can't imagine how "passing" something like that would be "gentle" by any stretch of the imagination.... looks like that herbal cleanse "throws the baby out with the bathwater" (if you'll excuse the allegory) ![]()

Pictus, you're getting your money's worth out of that one aren't you! ![]()
LMAO, Pictus!! ![]()
Hi all, hey no offence taken glad to be able to help someone laugh even if it is at my expense . Glad that we have sharp people here that can catch the mistakes and make enjoyment of it. Have grown much since found this place but still have far to go. I started out six years ago with no mind just the basic functions when was twelve I started doing drugs, any and all that was to be found drinking to, did that till was forty am glad that what is left can still grow. Any who reads this and does drugs better think about this. I thought it was not harming me ha, did not know how bad till stop doing them. Now have to right stuff down that need to remember and have to keep my life as simple as possible.
Things are much better now that can think for myself still make mistakes and have learnt that is how to grow learning by my mistakes which is rough sometimes but hey LIFE IS GOOD.
One does not know what is inside of themselves .
Hey Mriver, glad you didn't take offense. It certainly wasn't meant to be offensive, I just couldn't help but write down what I imagined - I've got a very graphic sense of humour and see cartoon-like comedy in lots of things.
(I most often keep the jokes to myself rather than offend - but after reading the post here "being nice vs being real", I thought I'd share) ![]()
On a serious note though, I found a while ago that colon cleansing (provided I didn't do too many too often/close together) was another great way to assist my body detoxify. I'd been on an anti-candida diet for several months, and it seemed like a logical next step. I found it very beneficial.
Thanks for sharing the above link. ![]()

Hi Cipher I had a good laugh to out of this especially Pictus pic. And learned how to spell colon, also to get out my WordPerfect before posting have a bad habit of spelling the way it sounds lol
that has gotten me into trouble more than once. Also have a habit of seeing the funny side of something that someone else takes real serious this has gotten me into trouble to but, hey be real!
You and all are very welcome to any enfo that I can help someone with.
If I refuse to be offended how can any one offend me.
If a person has a clean diet it would be more gentle but if a person eats a lot of junk food watch out and do not look into the toilet after a bowel movement while doing any colon cleans. Like the site says if you have a bad diet start out slowly and change your diet to.
does anyone/ has anyone done any forms of colon cleansing, that can put in some information for us others? whats the benefits versus any possible negative effects? is it worth it ? or does having a healthier diet help "cleanse" you just as well (even if you were eating unhealthy before) ?

Zonabi asked the million dollar questions! ![]()
I did one of those "Cleanse Smart" colon cleanses put out by ReNew Life in early 2003, and I would STRONGLY DISCOURAGE people to do this. In a nutshell...it "fried" out my insides, and they've never worked right since.
With Cleanse Smart you pop some pills in the morning, and then this other set of pills in the evening, each set of pills a big mish mash formulation of all these herbs and things, and it *makes you go.* Think of what GrapeCaoDizzle mentioned in his poop thread, about going 5 times a day, and his whole "This is serious, folks..." It's like that. But what's actually happening is the herbs are artiificially stimulating your intestines to go. And go go go you do. It cleans you out....not in the way that you see in the previous link that showed examples of some gastly colon cleanse extractions....but you do go go go, a lot.
Problems arise when you suddenly finish your bottle of herbal pills and are now supposed to just switch to going on your own.
After 30 days of being on the pills, being artificially stimulated, your intestines no longer want to do the job on their own. They get lazy. The muscles have been forcefully stimulated to such an extent for so long that they actually become physically weakened.
So then you find you're not going on your own anymore....and have to buy more pills to go!!
It becomes a vicious cycle. Very, very bad.
Some of these herbs, if taken long term, do liver damage, and I started going down that route. My body also began having bad reactions to the pills. I'd get a fever with simultaneous chills, and severe cramping, the kind that doubles you over. Bad, bad bad news.
I don't care what anybody says. I think this colon cleanse thing is a load of bunk.
To answer zonabi's last question - Yes, absolutely, you can help clean yourself out just by eating the right high fiber foods, and had I known that back then, I would have just done that!!! If you're not allergic to wheat, then try shredded wheat or raisin bran. Adding a bowl...or two!....of that to your diet a day will help bring about a natural of elimination that DOESN'T harm your intestines. I won't be all gross and describe why fiber works, people can just Google it and discover for themselves.
Here's a thought that's emerged due to the recent "cleansing" product fanaticism......how do we know that the products that we're taking for these cleanses, be it intestinal, gall bladder, etc. and so on, aren't creating the very same icky by-products that we see being expelled when we go???? Now there's a thought. I'm not going to claim to have come up with it though, it's something that I read on the 'net and it really gave me some pause.
I don't know about anybody else, but there's no way in hell you could get me to go on one of these really hardcore intestinal cleansing/detox programs that result in the elimination of what you see in that aforementioned link that somebody posted. That is fricking SCARY. Not to be crude, but that looks like somebody seriously shitted out their own intestines in those photos. That's not right.
I think the trick to proper colon care is: Eat the right foods. Don't eat system gunkers. And add lots of fiber and water to your diet. A proper diet, in conjunction with a steady stream of fiber and water will help anybody get rid of the excess stuff that's stagnating in their colon area, and prevent future gunk from building up.
Okay, that's my 2 cents of grossness for the week. ![]()

Zonabi, I went to a lady (called herself the 'colon angel'). She had a set up at her house. Basically, I lay on a bed and she 'hooked me up' to a hose that she used to feed warm water into the colon. It was a strange feeling!
She did a little colon massage in between water/emptying. The funny part was that when she turned off the water and let the water out, you could watch the waste pour away through a little window in the wall, where the effluent passed through. The even funnier part was, she could identify what was recent pooh and what was old stuff that had come from the pockets in the colon!
I felt a bit rumbly in the tummy for a day afterwards but did feel lighter. I did the colon cleanse about three times over a month. Haven't felt the need to do it again though.
As to the diet, I have found (personally) that staying off wheat products (and I love bread - and sugar - has made me feel lighter, less stodgy, has helped me lose weight (was getting quite portly) and has helped me feel a lot clearer in the head. I have found that after a few days of bingeing on bread and sugary products, I can't think clearly and I feel bad-tempered and like I've swallowed a brick!
At the time of the colon cleanse, I was a strict vegetarian and did a lot of walking and meditation, which was good for me. Now I eat meat and fish, which my body seems to need more of but, as I said, hardly any bread/sugar.
I personally think if you're going to do a cleanse, that if you've been consuming a lot of junk food, to slowly replace that with a healthy diet (protein/veg/fruit plus more water) before the cleanse. You'll be assisting the process and will possibly prevent a huge outflowing of toxins in one hit, that could make you feel sick and give you a headache.
Hope that helps.

Enzymes are virtually mandatory these days. More specifically, amylase for carbohydrate digestion. If I consume wheat products, I make sure I take a full spectrum enzyme supplement that has amylase in it. Cellulase is a good one too. It breaks down the cellulose in food products.
Actizyme from Nature's Plus is what I use (http://vitanetonline.com/description/NP … ZYME--180/). It assists in the broadest spectrum of digestion, in my opinion (even lactose intolerance).
Most food produced today has been hybridized or engineered to remove as much enzymes and phytonutrients as possible, all for the sake of shelf life (hence profits). My motto is: The longer the shelf life, the crappier the food.
When I was a teen, I used to suffer for anywhere from 8 to 14 hours of excruciating pain in my intestines. Pizza was a huge no-no. My mom took me to the "premier gastroenterologist" at the IU medical center. They ran all kinds of tests, "to no avail" . . .
The food wasn't being digested. It was literally putrifying in my intestines, and causing a blockage.
Years later I had a hair analysis done, and found out that I wasn't assimilating the expensive vitamins and minerals I was taking. The healthfood store owner recommended enzymes, and ever since that epiphany I can pretty much eat whatever I want. I wanted to go back to that hospital and choke the sh*t out of that doctor for his innate incompetence!

Be careful with processed cereals. To quote from the WAP foundation:
Dry breakfast cereals are produced by a process called extrusion. Cereal makers first create a slurry of the grains and then put them in a machine called an extruder. The grains are forced out of a little hole at high temperature and pressure. Depending on the shape of the hole, the grains are made into little o's, flakes, animal shapes, or shreds (as in Shredded Wheat or Triscuits), or they are puffed (as in puffed rice). A blade slices off each little flake or shape, which is then carried past a nozzle and sprayed with a coating of oil and sugar to seal off the cereal from the ravages of milk and to give it crunch.
In his book Fighting the Food Giants, Paul Stitt has tells us that the extrusion process used for these cereals destroys most of the nutrients in the grains. It destroys the fatty acids; it even destroys the chemical vitamins that are added at the end. The amino acids are rendered very toxic by this process. The amino acid lysine, a crucial nutrient, is especially denatured by extrusion. This is how all the boxed cereals are made, even the ones sold in the health food stores. They are all made in the same way and mostly in the same factories. All dry cereals that come in boxes are extruded cereals.
The only advances made in the extrusion process are those that will cut cost regardless of how these will alter the nutrient content of the product. Cereals are a multi-billion dollar business, one that has created huge fortunes.
With so many people eating breakfast cereals, you might expect to find some studies on the effect of extruded cereals on animals or humans. Yet, there are no published studies at all in the scientific literature.
The Rat Experiments
Let me tell you about two studies which were not published. The first was described by Paul Stitt who wrote about an experiment conducted by a cereal company in which four sets of rats were given special diets. One group received plain whole wheat, water and synthetic vitamins and minerals. A second group received puffed wheat (an extruded cereal), water and the same nutrient solution. A third set was given only water. A fourth set was given nothing but water and chemical nutrients. The rats that received the whole wheat lived over a year on this diet. The rats that got nothing but water and vitamins lived about two months. The animals on water alone lived about a month. But the company's own laboratory study showed that the rats given the vitamins, water and all the puffed wheat they wanted died within two weeks---they died before the rats that got no food at all. It wasn't a matter of the rats dying of malnutrition. Autopsy revealed dysfunction of the pancreas, liver and kidneys and degeneration of the nerves of the spine, all signs of insulin shock. Results like these suggested that there was something actually very toxic in the puffed wheat itself! Proteins are very similar to certain toxins in molecular structure, and the pressure of the puffing process may produce chemical changes, which turn a nutritious grain into a poisonous substance.
Another unpublished experiment was carried out in the 1960s. Researchers at Ann Arbor University were given 18 laboratory rats. They were divided into three groups: one group received corn flakes and water; a second group was given the cardboard box that the corn flakes came in and water; the control group received rat chow and water. The rats in the control group remained in good health throughout the experiment. The rats eating the box became lethargic and eventually died of malnutrition. But the rats receiving the corn flakes and water died before the rats that were eating the box! (The last corn flake rat died the day the first box rat died.) But before death, the corn flake rats developed schizophrenic behavior, threw fits, bit each other and finally went into convulsions. The startling conclusion of this study is that there was more nourishment in the box than there was in the corn flakes.
This experiment was actually designed as a joke, but the results were far from funny. The results were never published and similar studies have not been conducted.
Most of America eats this kind of cereal. In fact, the USDA is gloating over the fact that children today get the vast majority of their important nutrients from the nutrients added to these boxed cereals.
Cereals sold in the health food stores are made by the same method. It may come as a shock to you, but these whole grain extruded cereals are probably more dangerous than those sold in the supermarket, because they are higher in protein and it is the proteins in these cereals that are so denatured by this type of processing.
There are no published studies on the effects of these extruded grains on animals or humans, but I did find one study in a literature search that described the microscopic effects of extrusion on the proteins. "Zeins," which comprise the majority of proteins in corn, are located in spherical organelles called protein bodies. During extrusion, these protein bodies are completely disrupted and deformed. The extrusion process breaks down the organelles, disperses the proteins and the proteins become toxic. When they are disrupted in this way, you have absolute chaos in your food, and it can result in a disruption of the nervous system.
Old-Fashioned Porridge
So what are you going to have for breakfast? We need to go back to the old fashioned porridges, as I explain in Nourishing Traditions. These porridges should be soaked overnight in an acid medium to get rid of the anti-nutrients. Soaking will neutralize the tannins, complex proteins, enzyme inhibitors and phytic acid. You soak the grains in warm water with one tablespoon of something acidic like whey, yoghurt, lemon juice or vinegar. The next morning, the porridge cooks in about a minute. Of course, you eat your porridge with butter or cream like our grandparents did. The nutrients in the fats are needed to absorb the nutrients in the grains. That was one of the great lessons of Weston Price, that without the vitamins present in animal fats (vitamins A and D), you cannot assimilate minerals and other vitamins. You can be taking mineral supplements, drinking green juices or eating organic food until it comes out your ears, but you cannot absorb the minerals in your food without vitamins A and D that are exclusively found in the animal fats.
You can make your own cheap high-fiber cereal from grains scooped from bulk bins, mixed together like Swiss muesli.
Example:
4 cups rolled oats
2 cups rolled rye
1/3 cup organic raisins
1/4 cup raw pumpkin seeds
No wheat, high in minerals, tastes great with a little sprinkle of stevia powder and drop of vanilla extract, plus cold water or milk if you can tolerate dairy. Eat too much and it becomes a colon cleanse due to the high fiber and magnesium content. Makes a good hot cereal too.
