Hi folks,
I've been a lurker on this board for a little while, and I honestly can't remember if I'd posted anything before now (if not, then let me just say, great board, I've learned a whole lot from you fine folks).
However, tonight I felt I absolutely had to post here to thank Lono for some of the information he posted in this thread, about manipulating time nodes. I read this information last night (the idea of visualizing a node in the future and pushing/pulling it to manipulate the time available before that node), and I remember distinctly feeling a strong sense of "this is important... I must remember this... it will be very valuable soon."
Little did I know just how soon. That information saved my wife and I and probably many other people a lot of trouble yesterday.
My wife and I were flying out of Dulles Airport early Monday morning. We arrived about 1 hr 45 minutes before our departure, which we figured would be plenty of time. But that assumption was shattered when we got to the airport, and saw an enormous line at the ticket counter, but more significantly a massive security line ten times longer than any I had ever seen before. By the time we got through check-in and started in the security line, there was only an hour before take-off, and unlike the airline checkin counters, the security people don't care if your flight is only a few minutes from now. At first glance I was thinking there was no way we'd get through that line in two hours, let alone the 45 minutes we probably had remaining to get on the plane before they closed the doors.
My immediate first thought was that we were utterly screwed, and plenty of other people around me (some of whom I saw at the ticket counter checking in for the same flight) were openly panicking. They'd ask the security people "do you think there's any way I'm going to make a flight that's an hour from now" and the security people's responses ranged from "probably not" to "not a chance". I started getting a bit freaked at this point, because if we didn't make it on this flight, there was a high likelyhood we wouldn't make it back to our house today, and because of our dog and a number of other contingencies, this would have been VERY VERY bad if we had not made it home.
But then, before I could really begin to panic, my wife started to calm me down. She was one of the few people in line who seemed calm, and I noticed the distinction immediately. She said something to the effect of "relax, we've done all we can do, it's time we calm down and let things happen as they'll happen. We've done all we can."
And that's when Lono's information popped back into my mind, and my highest intuition told me "This is why you learned this when you did. You still have a chance. Make it happen."
And so while standing in this long and very slow moving line, with all the mental and spiritual strength I could muster, I closed my eyes. I envisioned the time node of our plane taking off. I think reached out with my ethereal light presence to all the other souls in line, summoning their strength. If I had been greedy and merely wanted us to make it to our flight, this effort would have failed. Instead, I needed to do what I did for the benefit of all of us in line desperate to get where we needed to get to. I envisioned everyone in line, and all the dependencies that others had on them being where they needed to be. And for those in the same boat as us, I reached out to their souls to get them to silently join my efforts. And then with that, using our own flight not as the specific target but rather as a symbolic node of departing flights very near in the future, I kept my eyes closed, and focused on the time node, looking at the time line before it. Then I reached my ethereal arms, all six of them (normally I keep two of my ethereal arms upright together in a prayer mudra, two in a meditation mudra holding the light, and two outstretched to spread light to all around me... but occasionally, when I really need them, I can use them for other purposes like this one). And I took these arms and light caressed this time node, and then gathered strength, and more strength, and more strength.
And then I pushed, and pushed, and pushed. I didn't tell me wife I was doing this, but the expression on my face gave me away, she could tell I was heavily into something right now, and even other people around me in the line started to look my way.
And then I closed my eyes again, and kept pushing. And at a certain critical point, the resistance would suddenly let up, and for lack of a better term, the time node started "rolling away" down the time track for a short distance before coming back to a stop again.
The effect was immediate. The very instant this "rolling" happened, there was a massive amount of movement in the security line. An entire section would suddenly move forward in the blink of an eye.
And so I gathered more strength, once again my wife could tell I was doing something, but I wouldn't tell her exactly what, for fear that the "ego trap of personal recognition" would destroy what I was trying to accomplish. So I stayed quiet; this wasn't about me, it was about all of us who had to get where we were going.
And I pressed the time node again, and pushed as hard as I could, until it rolled again. And once again the security line leaped forward.
I repeated this probably a couple dozen times, and by the time we finally got to the head of the security line, I was mentally, emotionally, and spiritually drained. But I had to continue the effort for a bit longer, to make sure that we got on the inter-terminal bus (which we reached just in time) and to our gate (which we ran to), somehow both my wife and I had enough strength left to run the length of the terminal even after my harrowing ordeal.
We got to the gate with less than two minutes to spare. Other people in the security line around the same time as me who were on the same flight did the same thing, and I could overhear people boarding the plane talking about how it was a miracle they made it in time. I said nothing, and just smiled in relief.
Once we got on the plane, I finally looked at the clock and compared it with the last time I had checked in, near the far back of the security line. By all conventional estimates (and posted signs), it should have taken at least 45 minutes to an hour to get through security from where we were then, and then another 20 minutes minimum to take the inter-terminal bus and get to a gate.
We did the whole thing in approximately 30 minutes.
Thank you, Lono. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
