Re: Exercises in Ascension
Reading back over this reminded me of another tool I used back when I started out removing my programming.
Replacement.
I went about replacing the old programming with my own programming. For me this step was just natural so I guess I can say it was necessary in my case. Obviously, I've gotten rid of the new programming (for the most part) at this stage. It's been a lot easier to get rid of the ones I consciously created than the ones that were reactionary programs to my environment.
At that point, I found 3 levels of programs.
1. Original Self (OS)(who I was before I reactively added all the crap from the world)
2. Old Programming (OP)(the crap from the world)
3. New Programming (NP)(bits and pieces from things I read from other people - tied together to counteract the Old Programming)
The original self was never lost. No matter how much I added I always felt it there. I guess some call it conscience. It's just who I was. It wasn't acceptable as a child so I added on societal programs that covered it up. Then I started using all the tools mentioned in this thread to create new programming.
After I got rid of most of the OP with the NP, I set about reintegrating with my OS. Once reintegrated, I then set out to grow it with all the lessons I've learned from the experiences with the OP and NP. This was the solidification of my center. Which I'm still working on, of course. Still have remnants of the OP. Not much though. Mostly just reflections to use for further learning. Have some of the NP left as well. Still useful stuff as I grow the OS.
