What I'm curious about is what people are looking for when they talk of intending for "abundance" and "manifesting money." How much money are we talking about here? How do you define "abundance" ? Does it mean to not only have all your needs met financially, but to have boatloads of money left over....ie, being "rich" ? Being able to afford material things? That sort of thing? That's the first thing I thought of as I read through this thread...............what exactly is it that people are looking for / hoping for when they request abundance with money?
With that said, I'll share this, and what reality has shown me over the years:
- Back in 1999 the carburator of the Nissan Sentra I was driving at the time crapped out on me. It cost $230 to repair, and at that time I didn't have spare cash floating around really, so it was a tight squeeze. Also, "coincidentally" at work the same exact week we received our monthly bonus checks, which were never more than $50 apiece after being divied up amongst us admin girls. But that's not the amazing part. My supervisor pulls me aside and sits me down to tell me that there's a slight problem with my check. Corporate in New York made a mistake with mine, a BIG mistake, and for some reason my bonus check was for $230 when it should have only been for about 50 something dollars. However...they were going to just let me keep it and say forget it. And don't tell my coworkers. It's not going to go over well at all if people find out that I basically got almost an entire second paycheck, and they didn't.
Sounds utterly unbelievable, but trust me, it's absolutely fricking true. At that time, I wasn't as perceptive as I am now, totally not aware on many levels about most things, and so I was just like wow....huh....and acknowledged the weird "coincidence", but wasn't as floored by it as I should have been. I look back on it now though and I'm like HOLY SHIT. Seriously. HOLY SHIT!
So, how did this happen? That's the big question. It happened because I had this intense....but fleeting....thought that "Wow, I can't really afford this $230 now. It would be nice if I didn't have this right now!!"
Then I put it out of my head.
There were no expectations, no anxiety, no "gimme gimme gimme I want I want I want." No greed. No money hunger. It was a simple, straight forward, well intentioned, non-greedy, pointed thought that shot out there into the program of reality, then was forgotten two seconds after the fact, as I went back about my business. But even though I was off to other things, reality was already at work, alligning things to get that money reimbursed to me.
There are other stories, but I can't remember them right now, but that's the best one I can share.
With that said, that segues back onto my original question of what exactly is it that people are looking for when they talk about "material abundance" and "manifesting money" ? Because to be honest, in our western society, "material abundance" usually translates to greed. They're not happy with their needs being met and a little leftover. Nope. Parents gotta have the huge house with the back breaking mortgage, their sophisticated techno gadgets in every room, the latest upgraded car(S) that they saw advertised on t.v., etc. Everything has to be shiny and new, the latest version of this and that. Buy it up, barely use it before tossing it aside and buying more more more. Kids gotta have their video gaming systems, huge wardrobe and cell phones.
If only people could learn to live modestly and below their means......and not fall victim to society's programming that this is a bad thing......if only they could learn to curb their spending and stop being materialistic consumers that are never happy and want more, more, more.
It's so cliche, but it needs to be said: You can't take it with you. If only society could realize that. You can't take the flashy cars and techno gadgets and sizable wardrobe and "the lifestyle" with you. And it won't make you happy. Learn to be happy in a sparsely decorated room with nothing but books. (and a plant or two! and a pet! haha) There you go!
But so many people can't.
There's such a chase for money in society. I don't get it.
Oh yeah.......when I worked last year at "The Illuminati Hotel"
as I called it, I was alone at the front desk one day when this dude in a tux strolls by. Tall, big, arrogant, there for a wedding that was going on that weekend. Asks me a question, I answer him, and he starts to walk away, and as an afterthought he pulls out a twenty.........and tosses it onto the counter and says something about how it's because everybody there's been helpful. (?? I politely answered a yes/no question....not really deserving of a twenty I don't think. So, he's doing this to "show off" and act like he's Mr. Big for being able to whip out money and throw it at people.)
I glance up and see this twenty that's just been tossed onto the counter, for me, and I see him walking off...and then turn back slightly to see if I'm diving for it or not. !!! And a slight look of surprised puzzlement because I'm not. This guy seriously expected me to go diving for this twenty like it's gold! Why?? Because most people would. That's how far gone this society has gotten. People think they can LITERALLY toss money out there into the air, and whoever is around will drop what they're doing like a conditioned Pavlovian DOG and go diving for it, drooling and tripping over their own legs to lunge for a f*cking piece of paper. It's sad.
I went back to my typing on the computer - assigning rooms to incoming reservations - and left the twenty on the counter, and actually forgot about it til two of my coworkers wandered back up front and were like, "Who's twenty is this??" Long story short, I told them where it came from and how I didn't want it, and their eyes got huge, like, You gotta be kidding!! They split it, ten each. They needed it more than me anyway. And I don't tell this story to be all like, "OH LYRA IS JUST **SOOOOOOOO** ABOVE MONEY" No, it's not like that. I need money, I admit it. I have rent and utilities to pay, I need to eat, I need to keep gas in my car and keep up on repairs as needed, and I have a cat that relies on me to take care of her. But all I ask for in life is that my needs are met, with a little left over. This money hungry thing where life revolves around "How can I get more money?!?!!!!" (insert panting and drooling here...) is just mind boggling to me. People throwing f*cking twenty dollars bills at me and expecting me to dive for it.....?? Please. And the fact that MOST people WOULD dive for it......?!?! Wow. Just...wow.
And I'm not speaking for anybody here on this forum when I spout my random thoughts here either. Everybody's got their own situation going on. It's just my views on money in general, inspired by reading this. I wish people would rebel against money chasing. It's a weird paradox though. On the one hand, the Powers That Be want us all to be chasing materialism and act like good little consumers, coveting everything they wave in our faces. They want us "striving high" and preoccupying ourselves with getting rich so we can buy more shit and make THEM more rich in turn. On the other hand....they also want to simultaneously "keep us down." They love it when people are poor and live in trailers and ghettos and tiny little houses and apartments. Create a huge divisive gap between the rich and the poor. So yes, we have a paradox. Two polar opposites, yet the thing they have in common is an obsession with money. You're either a money hungry, panting and drooling materialistic consumer who can afford to buy lots of "things", and does so, frequently, or, you're a downtrodden poor person who covets having more money and wishes they could have "things."
What's a person to do then? What should we be ideally striving for then?
This is just my opinion, and it doesn't mean I say everybody "needs" to do this, or be like me, but I'm thinking we need to go for that third option. The one where we eliminate the obsession with money. Strive to earn what you need to survive, with some leftover, and be happy with that, and meanwhile, live modestly below your means, don't chase material possessions, and trust that reality will work out for you. Know that you will be taken care of when an unexpected expense pops up. Just KNOW it. It WILL work out. In that way, you eliminate the "Conditioned Pavlovian Dog" mentality, you're no longer the obedient trained consumer pet of TPTB, you're making what you need, you're taken care of, your life is simple and uncomplicated, and most importantly, you've removed the obsession about money thing from the equation, and are living in a way that relies on higher concepts. You're not playing by 3rd density rules anymore. You've removed yourself from the way the average person out there is living. The average trapped 3rd density person chases money like a panting dog, always looking for ways to get more, obsessing about it, feeling this **need** for it. Somebody who's striving for something higher knows they don't have to worry about it. Life WILL work out.
This is how reality is for those in higher realms. Think about that. If we can read about this in metaphysical / new age books, why can't we live it?? Why do we read about something and think, Wow, that's great!.....then turn around and keep living the way we're living, with old hang ups and restrictions?? What, because we're "just" 3rd density? It doesn't apply to us? X! We're 3rd, and moving beyond. Most here on this forum are moving beyond and straddling life in two planes half the time.
Be willing to meet reality half way and do what you have to do, but trust that reality will cover the rest, your needs WILL be met, things WILL work out, and you won't need to worry about trying to get more, more, more! money...because you can't take it with you anyway, so what's the point? Things will all fall into place and work out for you. Because we're not "just" 3rd, we're 3rd, moving beyond.
Just my thoughts..............
