Hi tenetosce,
I know what you mean, and recently I was asking myself the same questions. In reading the Stuart Wilde and Carlos Castaneda material especially, I formulated some ideas of what the next step could possibly be. I'll pass the ideas along to you.
When you read those books, they have several things in commen, namely, the idea of existing with a foot in two worlds. One foot here in the physical, and one in the non-phyiscal "other", whatever it may be. They talk about being able to go to these other realms at will....it's something Stuart does, and it's something that Carlos was supposedly eventually able to do, without the use of halluncinogenics. Visiting other realms is something that's very "Toltec" you could say. So that's one idea.
Another is developing abilities that are beyond 3rd density to be used in your every day world. Psychic stuff (reading people, looking into the future, or across timelines, tuning into stuff, whatever it may be) reality manipulation, and everything else that would fall into that category. Develop and hone those abilities....wield them around while you're existing in the mundane world of 3D...thus transforming the mundane 3D world into something above and beyond! Basically, begin to get more "4D" while you're still here in 3D. Bring as much of 4th to you now that you can.
Which is also Toltec, now that I'm thinking about it.
So I guess what I'm saying is, one possibility is to go out there and become a Toltec Warrior Sorcerer!
I highly recommend Stuart's book "Whispering Winds of Change" if you haven't read it already. There's a chapter that pertains to you, to a T, called "The Fringe Dwellers." It's specifically about people like you who are detached from the normal aspects of 3D and looking to move beyond, with a foot in two worlds. (Kind of like morningsun's location: "In two worlds", and my title of "Fringe Dweller"...it's all related, it's all the same thing.
)
Instead of being disgruntled and impatient and disatisfied with 3D, look for ways that you can tailor 3D to be more interesting for you. "Ask not what I can do for 3D, but what 3D can do for me!" Wait...that sounds kind of STS.....
haha
Try to have fun with it, is what I'm trying to get at I guess. It's all in what you make of it. If you put out the intent that you want to move beyond, stuff should come your way and fall into your lap to make it happen. It may be subtle, so pay close attention. It may not appear like fireworks in the sky you know.
Ask, and you shall receive!
