Liver Flush & Liver Cleansing

Recently, Lyra mentioned Olive Oil in conjunction with various Healing.

The following might be of interest:

Couple years back, some cat going by “OneLove"  mentioned a book called, “The Amazing Liver Cleanse"  by Andreas  Moritz, on one of the Yahoo groups.
Looking into that facilitated “bumping"  into CureZone and all the myriad forums there.

This is very interesting.  Thanks for the links.  I may try the olive oil but will research the procedure first.

Re: Liver Flush & Liver Cleansing

I've before done a liver cleanse, although I followed the guidelines of Dr. Hulda Clark which can be found here, and elsewhere--

http://www.drclark.net/info/liver.htm

While the cleanse itself was difficult for me, I literally felt like I was getting reamed out (but I have a very touchy digestive system), in the end it was well worth the effort. I don't think any other hand to mouth healing modality has enhanced my physical energy level as did this.

www,

If you try this out make sure you have at least a good 24-36 hrs. to dedicate to yourself and the cleanse, especially if you have a touchy digestive system. As well, I don't know what the guidelines are for the Moritz cleanse (I didn't read the links SiriArc provided), but to do the parasite cleanse ahead of time, as described by Dr. Clark, would be a wise move. In fact, doing yearly, or even bi-yearly, parasite cleanses is a good idea... even an excellent idea.

I've noticed that nothing will cause a person to stick their head in the sand any faster than to suggest to them that they have parasites. I don't really understand this attitude too well, but to each their own I suppose... I'm just pretty sure that a course of "head in sand" isn't going to irradicate parasites like a course of Black Walnut tincture, garlic, or many other products that can be found in any health food store.

Just to clarify, for those who haven't seen the thread, I was relaying a story about a woman who cured her husband of appendicitis using olive oil, of all things.  Quite surprising!   Olive oil is supposed to be pretty good for you, as it's a "healthy" oil, with nutritional properties to boot.    And I've seen it mentioned in gall bladder cleanse programs for some reason, not sure how it works for that, but I always wondered about it.

I've discovered that taking dandelion and milk thistle extracts seems to work for cleansing the liver.  Very simple, and easy to purchase at a health supplement store.    Those fancier liver cleanse programs make me nervous, because I don't know what half their herbal ingredients are big_smile  but I know what dandelion and milk thistle are, so, there you go.  haha

Yes indeed, the role of parasites in many chronic diseases and even mental health problems with brain parasites is largley ignored by the medical estalishment. A timley reminder thanks.

I have been putting off doing the liver flush for years but i did do a digestive tract detox with that active oxygen powder stuff a couple of years ago which worked very well.

Its not like we are fractions of the whole but rather versions of the whole.

I didn't make it, I purchased it.  Like I mentioned, it's available in any health supplement store.  That's where I've purchased mine;  usually at Whole Foods Market.   There are bottles of herbal extracts, all kinds, and dandelion and milk thistle are two of many.

And actually, I know that many companies sell a combination of milk thistle with dandelion, either in liquid extract form or capsules, depending on what you prefer.   I like extract, only because extracts are usually more potent.  If you did a search online, you'd come up with tons of results for this on any website that sells supplements.

btw......................The liver is the only organ in the human body that can regenerate.  You can remove up to 25% of the liver, and amazingly, the body will regrow it.   How's THAT for trippy!   And milk thistle / dandelion can help facilitate liver cell growth.   Pretty kewl!   The two combined help not only to regrow and rengenerate  liver cells, but act as a cleaner to "clean out the filter."   That's why these herbs are HIGHLY recommended for people with liver problems, especially alcoholics.

This is where it gets funny.  smile   So there I was, taking my milk thistle and dandelion extract combination for a week one time back in Florida, every morning, and sometimes some at night.    All week I did it, then on Friday night I was drinking alcohol.   Wine, to be exact.

Normally, wine would hit me pretty strong, and two glasses would be enough for me and my tiny frame.   WELL....there I was, drinking away, and just BARELY feeling the effects of this stuff.   I stopped what I was doing at one point like,  Wow, how weird is this...I've totally been drinking and drinking and drinking, and BARELY FEEL IT!  What's going on here?!?   It's like, my body is processing this stuff super fast or something!

Then I remembered....all week I'd been doing my little liver cleanse.   I'd cleaned out the filter, so to speak, and it was now functioning in tip-top shape!    Normally it would be bogged down processing all the alcohol, but not anymore.  Now my body was just whipping through it like it was nothing.

I know, that's not "proof" for some people, but it is for me.  smile !

Re: Liver Flush & Liver Cleansing

A word of caution about various "cleanses":  it's easy to become obsessed with cleansing, for example, following Ms. Clark's protocols will keep you cleansing for years because you can't do a liver flush before you do a parasite flush.  And then you need to follow it with a kidney flush, and then a course of heavy metal detox.  By then you'll probably have picked up a few parasites so repeat. . . etc.

Better to do your best to give your body something good to work with every once in a while and let it "cleanse" itself.

That being said, there is definitely value to fasting, saunas, and the like.  And if you can manage to get down a daily cocktail of olive oil, lemon juice, and freshly minced garlic, well more power to ya!

A quarter cup of freshly ground flaxseed in water will probably do more to cleanse you out than most of these convoluted cleansing schemes. . and it's incredibly cheap. .and doubles as a meal.  Something to keep in mind.

It is not for us to understand love, but simply to make space for it.

IMO, and with the results I have seen with myself and other people (including ones with cancer), the Dr. Hulda Clarke protocol is right on the money, with her research and methods. Proven results for persons with serious conditions that need or want results yesterday. She has an honest protocol. It is extreme, but so is cancer which she is, for the most part, addressing. But, folks, I don't always follow the book and I hope you don't either. Sometimes there is room for modifications for the sake of circumstance, or convenience.;) I have done Dr. Clarke's liver cleanse with the epsom salts and olive oil with grapefruit juice thee times. And I did NOT do the parasite cleanse first. (I did it another time, and is a good thing) All went quite well, except the one time I awoke in the middle of the night to puke me guts out. UUUUNNNNGGGGGHHH! However, I felt terrific after it was over and went back to bed to awaken feeling vital. I have NEVER seen results like this with any other cleanse for the liver. Again, with myself or others. But, then this cleanse does do something a bit different than others, AND is designed that way. Remember that this women has done extensive research and development. Dr. Clarke's cleanse flushes the liver of not only toxins, but mainly the built up cholesterol deposits in the liver AND the gall bladder (stones)which impede the efficient removal of waste from the body. The epsom salts, in the recipe on her site, dialate the bile ducts in the liver where the cholesterol plugs are allowing for painless removal of them by the follow up of grapefruit juice and olive oil. NOTE: Bile is where the liver dumps toxins to be then excreted into the intestines to then be removed upon evacuation. Cholesterol is used by the body to protect itself from too much acid in the body, among other things. Deductive reason will tell you what this means, if you know the purpose of the liver. Clarke explains it, though. Anyway, I effectively removed more debris than I truly believed I would being mostly vegetarian for since I was 18. This stuff, the plugs, came out the size of grapes to the size of lentils. This cleanse works, and like I said does what others don't, even without doing the parasite cleanse.
I do not claim to know it all, and sorry if it sounds like that. However, I find your statements off base in some ways. I just disagree on some points. It all depends on what someone is addressing and what their body can tolerate. Absolutely, it is not necessary to become obsessive about cleansing for the average joe or jane. Can even be quite damaging. But, I am willing to bet anyone would do well from moderate, somewhat regularly, to even extreme cleanses, less regularly. I did a colon cleanse a couple of times with psyllium husks and bentonite clay alternated with a combination of specific herbs and removed 8ft of encrusted s**t from my intestines within seven days. Sorry, but in my experience, flaxseed alone will not do that. However, it is consider one of the best fibers you can ingest, and certainly it does have a mild cleansing affect. Also, it can be used everyday without detriment. Just won't have the same results, as what I mentioned.

The liver flush combo my wife and I have used for years is 2tsp. olive oil, 4tsp. lemon juice, and one clove of pressed garlic. This has been quite tolerable and beneficial for us to do regularly in the morning 1hr  before eating anything. When I have experimented, I found adding a pinch of cayenne and even a tiny bit of ground fresh ginger. This flush if you haven't already discovered, can make you very sick to your stomach. Mint tea will ease that, quickly. This flush, btw, should be followed with a tall glass of water.

Two cents..........

Holy crap!!  No pun intended!!!!

I did research into colon cleanses at the begining of 2003 and saw the websites that show the results of what you just described.   Disturbing isn't even the word for it!!     If you don't mind me asking, how exactly did you get this to work for you?   What was the procedure you used?   I've tinkered with psyllium husks and bentonite clay, but it didn't work for me.   Stuff went in, but then nothing happened, and it ended up just making me feel bloated and icky.   So I'm just curious about the procedure you did.  Did you eat any food during those 7 days?   Lots of water?   Anything else that helped the process along?   Something I missed?  smile

On a side topic, I wouldn't recommend those herbal colon cleanses, like ReNew Life in case anybody here is thinking about that.     Not to be all gross, but I did one of those (after the psyllium husk thing didn't really seem to be working) and I permanently ruined my intestines.   sad   No lie.  I'm permanently damaged.  If I don't maintain a special diet, things won't work.    But it's a miracle they can even work at all with a special diet, because for 16 months after I did the herbal cleanse NOTHING WORKED.   I literally thought I was going to die.  (actually, I was;  I was told as much during an abduction)   I had begun relying on herbal stuff to keep myself functioning after the cleanse, but I was ruining my liver apparantly, and didn't even know it.  I began having strong negative physical reactions to the herbal supplements, over time it was taking a toll.   (my skin would be on scorching on fire along with waves of chills, but my temperature would show up lower than 98.6 degrees on a thermometer, coupled with violent cramping, and other issues.)   It's a long story, and I won't bore anybody here with it.  All I can say though is beware of herbal cleanses!    You'll damage yourself.

Lyra,

You are correct.  Many "herbal" cleansers pushed in both holistic stores and others (such as GNC), have a dramatic effect on the physical body.  In essence, these "cleansing" drinks basically flush out the entire body of all vitamins, basically anything that has some chemical that doesn't belong there.  Many require you to drink A LOT of water, so that you can urinate the toxic substances out of the body...and also no food a few hours prior to drinking the substance.

A lot of people I have talked to who have taken these drinks (including myself) have stated they felt "scurvy" afterwards.  Scurvy is a little catchphrase I learned in college that just met your body was extremely vitamin deficient (usually after a weekend of binge drinking and uninhibited drug usage).

For many people, there are simply too many "toxins" and the drink is not properly formulated to handle the uniqueness of individual toxin content (ITC) contained within the body.  For this reason, it may be best to prepare your own special blend.

Energy

That's great, but, I didn't take any drinks.   ReNew Life colon cleanses are capsules.  So whatever you've just described doesn't apply.
