Re: The Mystery of Jesus

Very interesting about the Bible numbers, Jezreel, thanks for sharing that.
I am a longtime student of numerology myself, and as it happens, my Life Path number is Seven, so there's another Seven for ya.

Re: The Mystery of Jesus

I think that the story of Jesus, as presented by the bible, has obviously been tampered with from several different sources (and each time for different reasons to boot) before appearing in the form that we read today. The interesting thing is that in spite of this, the essential message is still uncorrupted.

I seem to recall that a Roman historian chronicled Christ's crucifixition in his memoirs, so I am somewhat inclined to believe that Jesus wore a human body while he was here. As for the stories attributed to his deeds, these have been manipulated for various reasons, but I've found that the part of the truth that matters tends to be strongly reflexive.

I think that Jesus was the first person acknowledged who identified the underlying principles of energy and polarity and applied them to help ease the suffering of the human condition. He was also the first to show that the purpose of forgiving your enemy has almost nothing to do with them, but everything to do with yourself, as the release of negative cycles cannot be achieved by defeating them from without, since doing so usually requires you to become similar or identical to what you just defeated. From an STS perspective, the identity of an oppressor doesn't matter as long as the energy produced by the ensuing conflict is suitable. Jesus showed that the goal isn't to win this rigged game, but to transcend it, and he demonstrated how to do it.

As for the Rapture that everyone keeps talking about that's supposed to happen sometime soon, I've already had mine, so I guess that all I have to do now is be patient. In the meantime, if someone asks me if I'm a Christian, I reply to them: "Yes, but only in the Gnostic sense."

Yes, and it's also interesting that most professed Christians still have not heard and integrated that essential message.

Great explication of Jesus' philosophy of forgiveness.  And in sync with Jezreel's post about the 7 in the Bible, when asked how many times one should forgive: "Up to seven times?" Jesus said,  "Not seven times, but seventy times seven."  I once did a forgiveness exercise where I wrote "I forgive (person's name) seventy times seven and I am free."  I wrote that seventy times for seven days.

Seven is the number of spiritual perfection, so its recurrence in the Bible is significant.

As for the Rapture that everyone keeps talking about that's supposed to happen sometime soon, I've already had mine, so I guess that all I have to do now is be patient. In the meantime, if someone asks me if I'm a Christian, I reply to them: "Yes, but only in the Gnostic sense."

Do you find that you have to explain to them what that means?  If so, how do you phrase it?

I didn't know that, I don't peruse too much New Age philosophy, I think... although, given a second thought, it's kinda hard to miss it on the web. Well, wherever it originates from it's still a lovely concept wink .

No I hadn't yet seen this information. Thank you for the link. smile

The Bible does also hold some value for me, but that's severely limited by knowing that the text has been corrupted. The same goes for other ancient texts, another example being The Emerald Tablets... and also, anything that professes to reveal the Egyptian Mysteries. But I'll tell you, even given my skepticism, the 91st Psalm is one powerful and effective prayer to access in times of consciousness peril. It has worked for me a number of times as an almost instant transmuter of dark energy... for sure the passage invokes strength. cool

Could the difference be that one is an exoteric initiation, while the latter is esoteric?  From my own experience, I felt Christ, I didn't see it.  Perhaps the "breath" of Christ means blooming from the inside, instead of coming from outside with the flames.  Or is that not how the C's generally work?

Esoteric in the broader sense, and introspective at the individual level... at least this has been what I've taken away from the experience.

I was coming back on NR to edit my above post, but I'll write it here--let it be known that I don't take EVERYTHING the Cs transmitted with grant to be the "gospel" truth... there is an apx. 3 out of 10 chances this Cs info about the Pentacost is disinfo.

Also, I found myself hoping Gibble would approach these and the above questions also, and silly me, why hope when I can just ask wink ?

But gosh, anybody that can comment would be awesome for the effort... for some reason this is really an intriguing thing for me.

Auendove, I think we are all aware that the Bible has been tampered with and none of us think of it as the Ultimate Word of God smile
It does bother me that so many focus on this corruption to the extent that they are unable to see any value therein.  As GibbleTronic observed, the essence of the teaching is still intact.

I myself have not spent a whole lot of time reading the Bible, but  parts of it have had quite an impact, just as Psalm 91 has had on you.  Thanks for reminding me of that, these two lines resonate with me especially:

For he hath given his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

They shall lift thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Anyway, as I said before, I'd be interested to read whatever you feel moved to post here, and I think the forum as a whole is savvy enough to keep from going to any extremes in either Bible-bashing or Bible-thumping. smile

From what I know, there are degrees of baptism.  Water, wind, and fire.  I imagine that Jesus was the water, then the wind and fire came after he took his leave, initiating the apostles into the higher mysteries.  If you look at the Bible, you'll see that, while Jesus was around, that the apostles didn't really understand Jesus, nor were they willing to carry on his message when they thought he was dead.  Him coming back, and then having the Holy Spirit fill in for him, gave them the wisdom and drive to spread his teachings.

Also, if you look at Genesis, you'll see the order of creation had wind moving over the waters, and then the "light", or fire of creation spoken by God.  Interestingly, to be close to God is known to be testing, or "near the fire".

Re: The Mystery of Jesus

I'll offer some of my walk, absorb what you want.

Auendove, psalm 91, very profound.

My frustations in general tend to be how people view the corruptions. I personally don't know that the corruptions are corruptions or just the humanity showing through leaving the individual reading to identify it and then ask, "God what was the response you desired?" Or whatever the error you see think of an appropriate question.

I think Pentecost came about more because of their obedience...not leaving Jerusalem. Their unity of intent/purpose, doing the things God would have them do (prayer, fasting etc), showing themselves as having learned from Jesus, now they are doing what he did esp. now that he was gone.

I also try to focus more on Jesus' teachings and the psalms than much else...not that the rest doesn't have anything to offer, I'll just let myself be led there when I get led there.

I tend to think of the types of baptisms as a process of degrees.

Baptism by water is a symbol of your first awakening the first realization that your are not where you are intended to be...it is you humbling yourself and seeking that highest self so to speak.

Baptism of the Spirit is getting that God connection that divine spark...getting out of your head and into your heart.

The tongues of flame here I don't think pertains to baptism by fire. I don't think the baptism is a one-time event, the baptism by fire is just living from the center of who you are. It is figuring out what and how you are meant to be. It is the sloughing off of garbage thoughts, beliefs, attitudes, desires etc. It is the refining process.

I can't comment on when Christ is coming back, because though I look forward to it, if I'm not living right now as "I should" then it don't matter when he comes back... I can't say I'm gettin' in but if I am putting forth the effort I say I am in.

Probably not as clear as I would like but hope it's helpful. Sometime down the road my views may be somewhat different.

Peace,
Teddy

Re: The Mystery of Jesus

This is rather interesting. The following link is a sermon on the Pentacost, delivered 5-15-2005 by the senior pastor of Vineyard of Gainesville (FL) (I'm still reading through it, it's another point of view to take in)...  yikes this congregation calls themselves "Vineyardites"...  big_smile .

http://www.vineyardgainesville.org/what … pentacost/

From wikipedia is the following quote. I found it a little interesting given the Cs session excerpt I've included below--

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentacost

The name "Pentecost" comes from the Greek word Pentékosté, meaning "fiftieth", and originally referred to Shavuot, celebrated after seven full weeks on the fiftieth day after Passover (the second day of Passover, on the 16th of Nisan, is the first day of counting the Omer). The Hebrew festival was originally connected with celebrating the first-fruits of the spring grain harvest, but the Christian festival lost those associations to the new association with the descent of the Holy Spirit.
Pentecostal Christian churches, which are so named because they emphasise the Holy Spirit in each individual, celebrate Pentecost as the anniversary of the disciples' being filled with the Spirit, as described in the New Testament in Acts 2. Most Christians recognise this event as the birth of the Church.

Jen and Jezreel, the counting of Omer is a 49 day period.

From the Cs--

A: Close. Enough you must decipher from instinct through meditation.

I read Acts 1 and 2 this afternoon, and boy, was some of that a tough read! It's true, some of it was like reading Greek... well, for me it was lol .

If the Cs are right, and the Pentacost as an event wasn't an event as de-scribed and Acts is corrupted material, then that the Pentacost is noted as the event that gave birth to the Church is interesting, yes?

PSALM 91

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

The 91st Psalm is one of the greatest chapters in the Bible. Like the rest of the Scriptures, the underlying thought is developed through a series or symbols and it is by the appreciation of the values lying behind these symbols that the power of this prayer is understood.

The 91st Psalm is one of the most powerful prayers ever written. Persons have gotten themselves out of every conceivable kind of trouble by working on this prayer every day in the spiritual way. Others have turned to the Psalm in some great emergency and have overcome their difficulties.

The best way to get the most out of this Psalm is to read it through quietly, pause after each verse to consider the meaning. Prayer is thinking about God; and while working on this prayer in the study, you are praying in a spiritual way.

If in a specific trouble or fear, after reading this Psalm several times your fears will be gone. Let us think on it in detail. ............

Specifically pertaining to the passages you brought to your post, Jen--

"Because thou hast made the Lord which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation, there shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling."

This is a beautiful promise. This is one of the most definite promises in the Bible. A marvelous promise. It says that once you have made the divine Christ power your refuge by living in it regularly and knowing God to love, because of your prayers, no trouble can touch you. Could anything be more convincingly said?

By meditating regularly on the presence of God within you, and directing your life in accordance with your knowledge, you are thus protected from any kind of danger.

"For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands lest thou dash thy foot against a stone."

This is another lovely promise. Read it again and again. Nothing could be more exquisite. "He shall give His angels charge over thee." This is meant for you and me. Make this promise the subject of your thought every day for a month. Think about it. Realize it. Charge over thee. Think of this promise, "Charge over thee," and your entire life will be changed. You will be uplifted. You are in the charge of angels and will be safeguarded in all ways - health, food, clothing, all the necessities of life. Kept from fear of all kind, danger of all kind, a wonderful promise. A thought to keep one smiling, happy, well, strong, vital, young, day in and day out for the rest of your life.

When I was thinking about those two passages in particular after you made your post, I also found it to be like a promise of sorts... an offering of an invisible safety net (the so called Angelic realm) available even in the sub-awareness zone that 3D can be, or more so... was; an invisible safety net available regardless of how densely veiled consciousness may be, if only one seeks it with earnest.

Re: The Mystery of Jesus

Here is a link from a quick search.  Be sure to read the whole thing to get the entire picture.

http://www.infidels.org/library/histori … ap26.shtml

The best is to do a search with "water, wind, and fire baptisms".

And here is what Jesus says in the Bible:

"I indeed baptize you with water, but he that cometh after me shall baptize you with fire and the Holy Ghost." (Matt, iii. 11)

The previous is curious because it seperates the "Holy Ghost" from "he that cometh after me".  Interesting.

Also:

"he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost." (John xx. 22.)

* When we start identifying wisdom with our ability to comprehend its form, what wisdom is that?
* Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
