I have two good stories, although for sure they were no doubt more hilarious in the moment--
The first is a Monster-kitty story. As I've said before, Monster has the name Monster for good reason. She's hard to get to know, she's extremely territorial, and acts horribly jealous when someone else has my attention or affection... like my son! She had to be put outside the other night because she was just growling and spitting at him, and wouldn't behave. She's such a little bruiser, and she's not beyond jumping someone... I know this from personal experience
, so out she went before the blood letting began
. While she and I are now best buddies, she used to despise me. The turn around in our relationship came with a funny story--
She used to hate it, get jealous, when my man-critter and I would lay close together, she would shove her way in between us and get nasty with me. One time she walked up onto my chest and stuck her little kitty mouth up to my nose and proceeded to start sucking the air out of me!!! The little stinker! Well, for me, after having been viciously attacked by this cat a number of times, this was the straw that broke the camel's back.
I grabbed her, pinned her down, stuck my mouth to her nose, and started sucking HER air! HA!!! Do unto others... eh?
She finally got away from me, bouncing on her paws to the end of the bed, and landed spread eagle down on all fours,
looking a me like I was some psycho-bitch from hell...
, and she wasn't the only one shocked by what I did, my man-critter's eyes were huge. But you know what? She's not attacked me since... well, she has, but these days she's just of playing. If only she'd learn to play with her claws retracted... the little stinker.
The second story has to do with my man-critter. One night we were BBQing, drinking brewskis, and that was all good and fine, for awhile. Apparently he had had a rough week at work and started to get bitchey... and, oh-man, I hate that kwap. He was like following me around, on my freaking heels, "wah, wah, wah.... blah, blah, blah", complaining about his boss and job. Now, when I have a few beers I like to have fun, to listen to music, maybe dance a little, maybe do some art or write some "spirited" poetry (which usually ends up being plain ole "huh?" poetry
)... just basically let my hair down and relax. Well, "wah, wah" and "blah, blah" are NOT conducive to fun I'll have you know.
I managed to get myself in the kitchen, alone, and had picked up a water cracker to have a smoked oyster, and in he came to the kitchen, complaining--and what I'm going to tell you happened swiftly and without ANY planning or forethought on my part, this making it very strange--as he was walking towards me I palmed the water cracker, lifted my arm up to the level of his head, and he walked right into the palmed cracker... right onto his third eye (which I wasn't necessarily aiming for), right as I quite spontaneously announced "Body of Christ!" I said this right as he walked into the cracker! OMG!!! Still to this day I wonder where that came from.
Well,
, this stopped him dead in his tracks, his mouth dropped wide open... though now blissfully silenced
, and the cracker fell to pieces down the front of his face, got snagged in his eyelashes, and
there was one piece hanging on the end of his nose. We were both jaw dropped for a few moments, you could've heard a pin drop, and then we began laughing so hard for so long our faces were literally soaked with tears of the happy kind. We couldn't stop laughing about it for near a whole half hour. The rest of the evening went rather well I might add.
Heehehe... <sniff> one way or the other, I will have my way, and fun.
.... and pretty amazing is that power of Christ, hmmmmmm? Little did I know "he" has a sense of humor!
Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground.

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we might as well dance.

If you spin around on your chair really fast, things around here will make a lot more sense.
