Re: Astral Projection

"I have to agree with Lyra and Montalk, astral travelling is like driving a Porsche 911 without brakes, and this is a soft statement."

I was just wondering if you have ever actually astrally travelled? Because speaking from my personal experience, and not the experiences of other through books, I have found astral travelling quite the contrary.

Robert Bruce, whose website you can find on the links page of www.montalk.net, has several published books about astral projection and astral phenomena. I found his books to be the most forward-thinking on the subject, and I my own findings concur with his own. The reason you are in no danger when you astrally project is, you do not actually leave your body. Simply separating from your body would not require the enormous amount of energy that astrally projecting does. However, what does happen is a holographic reflection of your consciousness is reflected into a newly-made astral body as a temporary vessel. When this vessel leaves your body to go fool around on the astral, having a blast, your body is not left unattended; the real you is still in bed, only THAT consciousness is wondering why all the lead-up and then no projection. The truth is that that person did project, but that projection is an action taken by a reflected consciousness.

When we later remember our astral journeys, or don't remember them for that matter, the thing to keep in mind is that only one set of memories can be recorded for a given amount of time in the brain. Which set gets recorded, the one from the reflection or the original, is left fairly up to chance, though Bruce suggests several ways to significantly increase the chance of the travelling body's memories to shine through.

I say with certainty, next time you project, stay near your body for a time. You will see both of yourself and experience dual consciousness, which will blow your mind at the time, though the sensation cannot be recaptured when in one's physical body. It distressed me quite a bit, and that projection ended there. But if you truly project, you will find this to be so, and then realize that worrying about your body is unnecessary and simply serves to ruin your experiences. I have never heard any personal stories of anyone being outright attacked or destroyed on the astral, but if it does happen, it will not hurt you, it was simply a dim reflection to begin with, and now your consciousness is simply reverted back to a single, unbroken stream. I assume that if your body is destroyed in the astral, you simply will think you had a failed projection attempt, as the memories are burned in the re-integration process.

Please read Robert Bruce's "Astral Dynamics" if you'd like an objective viewpoint floating in today's sea of metaphysical gibberish/subjectivity.

I guess I disagree then, and I felt that it was necessary to come on here and be the one who posts the first "words of caution" on the subject.   All I can say is, there's nothing worse than a thread where somebody puts out an idea about something either risky or controversial, then, everybody proceeds to only post that which agrees with it, and no alterate opinions or p.o.v's are presented for consideration.   There are two sides to every coin, multiple ways to view everthing, pros and cons in any situation....and astral projection is no exception to that.   Nothing can be 100% positive, with no drawbacks or risks.

To say that there is "no danger", making it sound so absolute is simply ludicrous.   Of course there is danger in astral projection.......................................... there is danger in ANYTHING of that magnitude.   Astral projection isn't like getting up to go get a snack from the fridge in the next room you know.   It's a major, serious big deal, and with anything of that magnitude there will be risks.   Again, nothing can be 100% positive, with no drawbacks or risks.

I can appreciate and understand what you're saying...even if I disagree and don't believe this to be the case.

Again, I can appreciate what you're saying, but I DEFINITELY disagree with you here.

It's all subjectivity....even Robert Bruce.   No one person or source is the definitive Know All on any topic.   We're all just people, writing our opinions based on personal bias, Mr. Bruce included.

Atlantis, the thing u DON ´T know is that u are SPONSORING that astral attack with your energetic message.

I know, I acknowledge; I'm using the internet with PCs connected to; besides the use of PC-electronics, an internet forum opens/invites astral energetic entities.

In thay astral terrain, thought is the weapon. So i ask u to reconsider ur suggestion.

yes, I know, that's why every forum participant has to protect her/himself psychically just before intense posting on forum topics.

Thanks for your reminder.

Racsouran, your comment is very clear and important.

BTW: A forum community does have it's astral mirroring which can be used/tapped of for negative purposes.

It's difficult to be aware of this, even if people on this forum are posting with the best intensions, there still exists astral "polution" caused by every forum user (passive or active).

Re: Astral Projection

I also agree with Lyra, Montalk and Atlantis.  I've never astral traveled, although while on various hallucinogens in the 60's, I might have.  Certainly I felt disconnected and into someother realm.

While studying with Theun Mares he was very opposed to astral traveling techniques and occasionally gave advice to some of the members who were or had experienced involuntary astral or OBE while about to fall asleep ... what I remember, and this is from memory as I don't believe he mentions it in his books ...  the danger was once one started to astral or have involuntary OBE is was VERY hard to control.  Could happen often or too often.

And this would lead to an inablity to causatively move or shift the assemblage point. That things just got really screwed up.

In any case, I was glad to see this thread ... to see Lyra's willingness to not agree with a subject that seems so accepted and "new age" and speak her mind ... Montalks and Atlantis agreeing as well.

As to those who might disagree with our mutual disagreement.  No problem ... but somethings don't feel right to me intuitively so I'm sticking with my story.

No amount of ... oh, it's fun, it's an adventure, it's good for you, come on try it ... will change my mind. smile

I think other worlds CAN be accessed BUT you've really really got to have your s**t together; otherwise, you become part of the graveyard of sorcerers who went where they should never have gone ... lost.  And I just must admit that I don't have my act together enough to take a chance!!

hi

this is to wynderer:

the theory of one 'creating their own reality' does not exclude other's free will and definetely does not infer that we are alone. it is not meant as a rock solid truth, but rather a reminder of the power of our own minds.

Re: Astral Projection

I see in the general public a sense of "being proud of" doing astral projections. After reading his experiences, i see no reason for that. Well, they tell nothing important or interesting.

The same happens with lucid dreaming, i haven ´t seen more than one lucid dream who is woth of read. In that dream, some kind of black people (absolutely nothing realted to those infamous "men-in-black") told the dreamer: "we see you in your dreams", the dreamer asked: "in my dreams", they respond: "yes, in your dreams".

Re: Astral Projection

I hate that sense of "wow how cool" (stupid fashion) that normal people give to astral projection, lucid dreaming and the recognize of having some "psychic powers" (more stupid also fashion), they normally feel more person than others that don´t have that habilities. aggh i hate it. Because they appear to be so inmature and infantile...

Re: Astral Projection

Well I do appreciate a word of caution and I do take it in. I have been doing a lot of reading on astral projection and yes, i was aware of the dangers involved. The thing that these demons/evil entities feed off of is our fear emotion, it is not possible to project in the astral if you are afraid or fear of it which keeps you in the physical/ very low vibration. If we are just going to be scared and kept in a fearful mindset we will not be powerful enough to handle them they will control and manipulate us and we will not be able to resonate into the higher vibrational realms of existence.  Angelic/divine assistance is highly needed. We do possess the power and the demons obey divine commands. I think if anyone wants info on astral projection, astralpulse.com would be a good site to visit its a web forum. Also astralvoyage.com is a very good site
