DAVID HOLMES
Ocean's Twelve (Warner Bros.)
Bigger Rat Pack sounds from Belfast DJ and producer
Matching clichéd groovers with rare '70s European tracks, David Holmes' Ocean's Twelve is a better showbiz production than the original. Using a core of New
York musicians called Boomish, Holmes' tracks recall the mad interludes of an Austin Powers movie, as well as the funky drums, boogaloo brass and day-glow
guitars straight out of Broadway musical Hair. “7/29/04 the Day Of” and “$165 Million + Interest” are drivel but no doubt fulfilled soundtrack needs.
Better are Latin-tinged tracks “The Real Story” and “Lifting the Building,” which recall edgy soundtrack composers Lalo Schifrin and Elmer Bernstein.
The songs by other artists give Ocean's Twelve true depth. Holmes has always been inspired...

Holmes has an impressive discography, yes.

Now, SEE this link ---- (here's how I got to it: googled that date of July 29, 2004, then looked at random site offerings, and looked for the number 165, and
lookee what came up??? Federal Reserve. $165 million borrowed during the week of July 7. Weird or not, I have no idea. But it certainly is COINCIDENTAL, given the names of those 2 songs from O12. Yes?)

I was debating whether or not to post this song's lyrics. Don't want to detract from the thread (which I appreciate mucho) but decided to post cuz because
the song is called "Are you in or out". From the Disney/Alladin flick. Well, here goes nuthin'...
I remember a time
When crime was sublime
There was plenty of loot in the lair
We'd plunder and pillage
And ransack a village
With nary a worry or care
Then along came this king
With his soft-hearted dream
But he ratted us out in the end,
So rally the troops!
We were meant to regroup
And return to our roots once again!
Are you in or out?
Gotta know without a doubt
I'm the one you need for a dirty deed
I'm the best, success is guaranteed
Are you men or mice?
Take a slice of my advice!
You want a fearless leader, one that's strong and stout?
Better vote for me
Are you in or out?
We used to be smart, yes,
Horrendously heartless
In ravaging raids, we were rough
We knew what we had
To be blissfully bad;
Then Cassim brought this sensitive stuff!
And we strayed from the path
Of our rigorous wrath;
Now we're taking a bath in the dust!
But we'll reclaim our winnings,
Our humble beginnings,
In turmoil and torture we trust!
Are you in or out?
Double-crossers or devout?
Put your faith in me,
Pretty soon you'll see
I'm the prince of generosity
Are you foe or friend?
Here's the path I recommend
You want a ride to fame?
I've got the fastest route;
What's it gonna be?
Are you in or out?
We'll go robbing in all the right places,
From Agrabah dunes to Bali
Imagine the fear on their faces
When we drop by for cookies and tea
Come along, boys!
Follow me!
Are you in or out?
If you're with me, give a shout (YAY!)
I'll lead you all the way,
Into the glory days
We'll begin a life of crime that pays
Are you out or in?
Make your choice now, sink or swim!
You can stick with me, or stay behind and pout
What's it gonna be?
Consider carefully.
Are you in or out?

Btw, I don't have any of these songs. Found all info on the net.
Finally, I hope that Explosive Corrosive Joseph referred to in song #12 on the O12 soundtrack is not Joseph Ratzinger, the new pope.
