Topic: UFO's and the National Security State
"Coming Out from Hibernation"
A Personal Note from Richard Dolan
February 18, 2005
Anyone who checked my website during the last half of 2004 may have started to wonder what happened to me. Despite having a great deal on my mind, despite the momentous events in America and the world at the time, I wrote no articles. Honestly, I believe I was suffering from some sort of burnout. Not depression, just a feeling of trying to do too much in too little time.
Also, the fact is that during the past seven months I have been working fairly diligently on Volume Two of my study, UFOs and the National Security State. This will indeed take the story of the UFO phenomenon and coverup from the early 1970s to the present day. I am happy to say that research is going very well. I currently have more information organized and annotated than I did when I wrote Volume One. There is still some more work ahead, but I believe the book will be out in 2006.
Writing articles is something I genuinely love to do. But I am not a full-time writer on these matters, although I wish I could be. The fact is that I must support my family and I can only do this work when I find a way to squeeze it in. Horrible, but true. (None too subtle hint for any would-be sugar daddies).
Especially within the UFO field, and especially if you have a political-conspiratorial angle of approach to the problem, as I do, an apparent disappearance can be cause for concern. And there were a few of you who wrote to me with such concerns – for those whom I may not have answered, let me just say ‘thank you.’ One thing about this field that I will always appreciate is the large number of genuinely kind and insightful people who come to it. Far from being ‘looney’ or some such thing, I have found that people interested in this topic tend to be more perceptive and analytical, and concerned about this world, than most people.
Today, I wrote the first half of a two part article. It’s about 3,000 words, and I am certain the second part will be at least as long. Yes, I do intend to write articles occasionally – but I really need to do this ‘as the spirit moves me,’ and not on a regular basis, as I had hoped to do last year. This piece is entitled "UFO Secrecy and the Death of the American Republic." I have a lot of new things to say, matters that I believe are of grave importance.
Expect Part One to be published here on Monday, February 21.
My best regards,
Rich Dolan
(Reposted from Rich's Website.)
I enjoy Rich Dolan's writing. His Volume I of UFO's and the National Security State was monumental. He's been on numerous TV specials on Sci-Fi channel, and has been published in UFO Magazine numerous times. He's one of the view researchers who has followed the research where it led -- which includes political conspiracy.
However, over the past year I have been checking Rich's website for updates and news on his progress. Especially so, since John Mack died, I've been thinking about Dolan and the importance of his work.
His first book got through the grips of publishing house perils, with the help of Hampton Roads (after a bout with another firm I can't remember). But since his first volume, I've seen this particular publishing house decline in its level of discernment yet prosper in its wealth, scope and scale of business. It makes me wonder who's paying the bills, and who's deciding what gets published. I also know that the (at least at one time), the lead publisher of the firm was "dating" the author of Talking to Extraterrestrials, Lisette Larkins. I heard Lisette speak once in 2003. She's certainly in line with the Stephen Greer take on the ET encounter thesis -- aliens are indefinitely benign.
Anyway, why I'm sharing is because now that Rich Dolan is more or less crying out (reading between the lines) in his post, I'm moved to try and help him out. Not sure what I'm going to do yet, maybe just help him with a better website or something, but also maybe starting a campaign to raise some funds to support his research. What do you think? Any suggestions?
