Topic: Reality Was Expanded-Did Not Recognize 3-D World

Has this ever happened to anyone else in here?

Yes,  usually,  when I first wake up from sleeping it takes a few seconds or maybe up to a minute to realize who, what and where I am. But I am usually not afraid.

However, once, when I was young, probably a teenager or adolescent I awoke and did not recognize anything. EVERYTHING was totally unfamiliar and I was very afraid. I was "wide awake" and had no idea about anything around me at all. Like I had no frame of reference for it (like my life as a physical person, a human on earth???). Then I heard something and saw this very hideous looking creature nearby, all corporeal and I was horrified and it was making loud noises. Then I heard another noise on top of that, loud, piercing...and the creature began to make even louder noises...then its sounds began to diminish and became less threatening and I just stared at it while the other loud noise continued....then everything began to sort of shrink into a more familiar context and the creature began to say words I understood eventually as being my name and the command to "STOP SCREAMING!!" repeatedly. Then I recognized that it was me shrieking at the top of my lungs in the middle of the night and the creature then morphed into the person I recognized as my mother. She was standing in the doorway to my bedroom telling me to stop screaming and when I did I just stared at her. It was so wierd.  How would I have not recognized her or my environment for such a, relatively, extended period of time???

Reminds me of an episode of one of the newer Star Trek episodes that I saw years  after this event had taken place: The crew had arrived on a new planet and during their activities there they had unwittingly disturbed a lifeform that was expressed as these beautiful motes of bright white light.  Like stardust because there were so many of them. They were highly intelligent and when communication was established they spoke in unsion and described the human crew as being made of, "ugly bags of mostly water." Really great episode. There were a few of those shows,  especially,  that were, to me, very consiousness raising.

My mother had come into my room in the middle of the night to tell me that my grandfather had to be taken to the hospital emergency room. Can't recall why, at this time,  since I was pretty young.  But that was one of the wierdest experiences of my life. I can only imagine that I must have been way past the astral planes while my physical body slept. And being "awakened" suddenly like that-my being just  responded to it while in that state. Freaky!

Re: Reality Was Expanded-Did Not Recognize 3-D World

This might be closer to the daily phenomena you described, but one time I woke up and nothing in my visual field made any sense. I was seeing light, shadow, and shapes, but they meant nothing. Then meaning started to seep in, and I slowly recognized the window, the wall, the curtains, etc. I was quite aware of what was happening as it happened. It was a cruder experience than the one you related. I probably wouldn't have even recognized a person as a corporeal being at all, just another shape among shapes. There wasn't any fear. I just felt like a malfunctioning robot.

This sounds like the brain's centers which organize sensory data into meaningful information were shut down and you were experiencing a raw, unfiltered "data stream" through your eyes.  After awhile, the brain realized the eyes are open and adjusts its vibrational states to that of normal waking consciousness, at which point "reality" seems to reappear.

Hi Iriana,

Czyx's experience and Morningsun's thoughts add good food for thought to the puzzle. If I may throw in some thoughts:  I think you feeling that you were jolted out of an astral experience seems a high probablity possibility. Of course with such phenomena, one can't be 100% sure in a "yes" "no" fashion.  My thought was that you perhaps merged your dream experience into your 3d reality, as in the moments when one is trying to re-focus after awaking. Usually the blink of an eye is enough to snap us back to the 3d experience, but sometimes the "moment" is longer, as in the dream realms time has less, or no relevance.  The fact that you saw something frightening to you could be related to your age at the time, or you were perhaps getting a "bleedthrough" of 4th density energies due to the heightened awareness that one has on the bridge between sleep and dreaming.

Another thing to possibly muse on might be that you were emerging out of a parallel life existence, where you are a different form altogether. Interesting the form you saw changed into your mum. This vision would be "horrible" to your 3d self, but could just be another aspect of yourself in another reality. As Morningsun mentions, it is linked to vibrational awareness whatever the actual case in this example.

Interestingly, as I was reading L/L transcripts of Q'uo meditations and channeling, I came across this question which may be of asssitance to you as you consider your memory of this experience. As with all channeling, just take that which resonates with you and leave the rest.  This excerpt is from:Sunday Meditation

Reading) For years now I’ve been experiencing moments and time periods of a fuzziness of perception which slightly blurs the boundaries between dream and reality. As I’ve heard many others speak of this same experience, it feels as if the solidity of what was formerly a well-defined reality dissolves and all of a sudden everything in waking consciousness feels literally like a dream. There have been a few incidents of late in which I was seriously not sure if I actually said or did something in the “real world”  or whether that same memory was the property of a nightly dream. Is this type of fuzziness the result of the incoming fourth-density energies and the resultant change in consciousness that they bring? Or perhaps, as was cautioned against in the Law of One series, these are symptoms of an over-hasty polarization and the twilight state that accompanies such an impatient drive for progress?

We are those of Q’uo, and are aware of your query, my brother. We cannot give you one single answer, yes or no, because, as we gaze into your pattern, we would say that perhaps two-thirds of those experiences are an artifact of your personality type. You, in common with this instrument, have a certain absent-minded quality that can create this feeling without there being any resonance or meaning to the happenstance. It simply is a time when you are scattered. There are other times, my brother, when there has been a significant shift in your perceptive web because of the intensity of your devotion. In the first instance, two-thirds of the experience, that is, there is no meaning involved, it is simply an artifact of personality. In the remainder of the cases there is great material that is there and it can usefully be mined. So we would suggest that you look for the kind of peculiar resonance that does attend such a shift in consciousness due to devotion.

The third possibility, which you suggested, was that you were experiencing basically a mistake, that you had rushed too much and so forth. And we would ease your mind in that regard, for it is not in either case an artifact of rushing or of trying too hard. Rather, it is a matter of the way that your particular personality has shaped up and the way it handles experiences that it cannot quite encompass with rational thought.

The truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

Yes this happens to me every morning when I wake up, ha.

Just kidding but I often do get mini versions of this type of experience especially when I awake in a dark room or unfamilliar place. When I used to do a lot of travelling I would sometimes go through a process of having to remember who I was, how old I was by tracing memories, and finally where I was and what I was supposed to be doing there. It probably only took 10 -20 seconds or so but seemed a lot longer as it was an intense feeling of being lost, then I'd go...oh yeah and continue about my day.

Thank your for your responses, Stephen, Vuyiswa, morningsun76 and czyx. I appreciate your time.
This particiular response rung very true when I read it:

I sense this, too. Some other version of myself where I "mostly" was at that moment and then I tried to "devolve" back into here or maybe simply shift awareness back to this 3-D world experience.

Perhaps, when we are sleeping, we are given the gift of being more in our expanded selves, so to say, but then when that part of us allotted to the 3-D experience of this version of life on Terra Earth wakes up again into this 3-D time line, we are,  in a way, forced back into this world in a conscious manner that may be uncomfortable or frightneing if the transition happens too quickly. I suspect it is meant to happen gradually and in a peaceful and effective way most of the time.  But maybe these little strangenesses occur occasionally so we may get an glimpse of at least part of what more we are that we can bring it back with us into this awareness.

[I did save the link info above for further review.]

Another aspect I have been experiencing is some events of short term memory loss, one full day of missing time/memories (I may have mentioned that awhile back in another post) and also an inability to be too concerned with certain aspects of my responsibilities in this reality. That part I am not proud of and it is puzzling.....but even today someone was talking to me about some financial data and explaining a tax schedule related to the fiscal year -  all I could think about was , "what does this have to do with?" and "is this stuff really important and real?" So I feel I need to be a tad more grounded. It's like monkeywrench has been thrown into the chainmail of my perceptions - and If I am caught off guard,  I slide into the mire of it all. This past week has been example of this.

Then today, while I was driving I was listing things that were concerning me...a questionable decision I'd made related to deciding to spend time with my ex-boyfrened, family stresses, etc...and I asked myself why I seemed to sometimes fastrack myself into certain dramas after experiencing many days of peace (or increased peace). Then I heard someone/a voice/me saying, "If you did it to yourself you can forgive yourself."

I contemplated this and realized that is was a very powerful statement. Whether that particluar "myself" was **me** or another aspect of me, as in the form of another person or being. And it reminded me of a somewhat more traditional religious saying that I will paraphrase:

~~~
If you have trouble loving yourself  (and an easier time loving  that which appears to be outside of  who and what you are) then you can trick your awareness into doing it anyway. By loving God with all your heart and being-ness. And since you are a part of God, you will be loving youself, in kind.
~~~

Kind of corny - but sweet, I think,  nonetheless (o;

Want to flow  with this more but nothing additional is coming out via writing at this moment.....thinking about many things today.........Iriana
