Topic: Reality Was Expanded-Did Not Recognize 3-D World
Has this ever happened to anyone else in here?
Yes, usually, when I first wake up from sleeping it takes a few seconds or maybe up to a minute to realize who, what and where I am. But I am usually not afraid.
However, once, when I was young, probably a teenager or adolescent I awoke and did not recognize anything. EVERYTHING was totally unfamiliar and I was very afraid. I was "wide awake" and had no idea about anything around me at all. Like I had no frame of reference for it (like my life as a physical person, a human on earth???). Then I heard something and saw this very hideous looking creature nearby, all corporeal and I was horrified and it was making loud noises. Then I heard another noise on top of that, loud, piercing...and the creature began to make even louder noises...then its sounds began to diminish and became less threatening and I just stared at it while the other loud noise continued....then everything began to sort of shrink into a more familiar context and the creature began to say words I understood eventually as being my name and the command to "STOP SCREAMING!!" repeatedly. Then I recognized that it was me shrieking at the top of my lungs in the middle of the night and the creature then morphed into the person I recognized as my mother. She was standing in the doorway to my bedroom telling me to stop screaming and when I did I just stared at her. It was so wierd. How would I have not recognized her or my environment for such a, relatively, extended period of time???
Reminds me of an episode of one of the newer Star Trek episodes that I saw years after this event had taken place: The crew had arrived on a new planet and during their activities there they had unwittingly disturbed a lifeform that was expressed as these beautiful motes of bright white light. Like stardust because there were so many of them. They were highly intelligent and when communication was established they spoke in unsion and described the human crew as being made of, "ugly bags of mostly water." Really great episode. There were a few of those shows, especially, that were, to me, very consiousness raising.
My mother had come into my room in the middle of the night to tell me that my grandfather had to be taken to the hospital emergency room. Can't recall why, at this time, since I was pretty young. But that was one of the wierdest experiences of my life. I can only imagine that I must have been way past the astral planes while my physical body slept. And being "awakened" suddenly like that-my being just responded to it while in that state. Freaky!
