Would you represent a reptilian through a spider design? These are two different animal classes. So I doubt it! But I have to agree with freebird. The 13th zodiac sign in the Celtic moon cycles is the spider. Maybe there is a connection in hiding these symbols but it has to do with something else to do not with hiding the reptilian presence.

Well the eagle is symbolically linked with the scorpion, so I don't think the animal class matters.

Yes.  Stewart Swerdlow has talked about the 13 sign of the zodiac as the Dragon.  According to him falling in between scorpio & sagittarius. 
With the sign of the Spider in mind: -If we follow the year cycle progressing from the equinox point, approx 20th of mars, the Spider coming between taurus & gemini would then more naturally be the third or fourth sign or something.
I'll surf a bit and see if I can find something about Arakhne(the Spider)

The 13th sign seems to be The Serpent Bearer, Ophiuchus. So, there seems to be a connection to reptilians. Note the illustration of the Staff of Aesculapius. Regarding the staff: I've read somewhere a while ago, this symbol stands for Kundalini, The snakes are the Ida and Pingala Nadi spiraling around the spine. I don't know, maybe this explaination is a cover-up.

A 13-month calender would make much more sense to me. The months would perfectly fit to the moon cycles (28 days). The word month derives obviously from "moon" So, it is illogical to have a calendar that causes the moon-cycles to be out of sync to the month lengths. Maybe that is the reason - to get people out of sync of their natural cycles. A problem could be, 13 x 28 sums up 364.

Seems clarifying!  there's an article about ophiuchus on this website www.elysian.co.uk. (hard to put up link)
Another thing is that I would think that the new year naturally starts at the spring equinox point.  The Christian new year is in January, and the jewish in september as far as I know.  I don't know much about the latter, but have heard that it also follows the mooncycles. If anybody know more it would be interesting.

Yes, returning to the moon calendar would solve the leap year wierdness and the year would no longer be 365-1/4 days long (if  I have that number right?  But it is a number of days and a fraction with our Gregorian calendar as it is now). Maybe the shift that is said to be coming will include returning to a more moonlike perspective of time? That would be very kewl!

Perhaps Arachne is Old Grandmother Spider and Ophiuchus is?  -I don't know what.......  The leylines, the electro magnetism and what is holding it.......
