Re: Knowledge? Power?

I'm thinking this is a riddle.

With all these things being the periphery, what is at the center? Consciousness? Discernment? The inner/higher Self? Intuition? Inner Knowledge? Philosopher's stone? Magnetic center? Hamlet's Mill? The eye of the I?

Acquiring fringe knowledge is like digging for diamonds in a mine field.

Re: Knowledge? Power?

You're leaving out "Holy Grail", monty.

Hmm, I shouldn't have judged it so fast. (whips himself 11 times in the back like a Jesuit-Preist).

Finding out what "They" are REALLY doing is not Power

Finding out what their doing is essential. Because it is identification and that's the first step to awareness. If it goes past identification and into speculation, then yes, it only adds to the smoke and diversion, and the end result is we lose a lot of time and effort with useless KITSCH.

This meditaion sh*t is boring though!

Those who find it boring usually have tense-heartbeats (like myself). We seem to innately be mechanized to dislike the process. Or rather not prefer it.

I've been pushing myself to practice these Qigong techniques. Extremely hard to get concentrated enough to keep the habit up, but I assure you Tora, meditation of the mind or the body (exercises/stretching) are very beneficial. Our bodies have power-centers and the strength of these zones are amplified at our will, if disciplined. When you add those who suck our energies, such discipline is very vital to our progress.

Look elsewhere!

I'm trying to look elsewhere. But where? We can look into ourselves. We can look above at the Universe. We can network and add our energies to a grande vector that may unleash universal truths and awareness. Where else can we look? The Oprah Winfrey Show?

Re: Knowledge? Power?

Look where?
Well...In the centre maybe?
I guess the word riddle applies.

These lazy brain cells can be used to experience as well as learn. Read the whole Occult Library within the course of your Life. Great Job! Have you learnt anything? Maybe. Is this a distraction from WHAT REALLY MATTERS =True knowledge? Yes...possibly.

Wasn't some weird illumined poet seeing the Universe in a grain of sand?

"I assure you Tora, meditation of the mind or the body (exercises/stretching) are very beneficial."

Well, are you meditating on a book? The Universe? Your breath? A sparkly little atom right there in the centre? Hmmm.

Ever noticed sitting in a random Cafe, what are people doing when they are on their own? Reading? Do you? Why is that? Distraction, distraction, "gotto run from that spinning thing I can't control, Let's open a paper, etc."
The other day I saw for the first time in months a guy sitting in a cafe on his own and not reading or staring outside the window nonchalantly.
A middle aged native american guy. Was he talking with Wakan Tanka? Thinking about Oprah's last show, STALKING himself maybe?
Well, the guy didn't seem odd or uncomfortable. He earnt my respect immediatelly and we silently acknoledged each other.

The idea is "The Universal Book of Enlightenment" in 25 volumes will not bring you enlightenment. It might teach you interesting stuff about it though! Won't do the nitty-gritty for you.

Our old friend Lao Tze would have agreed with me...I think  ;-)

The Power issue? Same answer.

By the way...yes it is extremely hard to concentrate. Let's See what'on the news today!

Re: Knowledge? Power?

Alright, so all the knowledge we need is already within us. That's like saying all the fish we could ever eat are in the lake. Even if we own the lake, we still have to find bait, put it on a hook, and cast it into the lake until a fish bites.

I have never seen a fish jump from the water into the fishbucket. And never during passive meditation have I accessed the knowledge within. This may be possible, but...

Only during active contemplation and introspection by asking questions and pondering ideas did the answers come to me. The questions we ask, the words we read, the opinions we hear - these are bait.

Some people are content with eating worms since they don't understand how to fish. They seek the periphery as an ends in itself. There's big business in farming worms because many people love to eat them. Look at academia - those who write empty intellectual stuff and those who gobble it up. Look at the media - those who write garbage entertainment and those who are addicted to it.

To access the knowledge within, however, this bait must be cast into the lake. A question is asked and the response is retrieved from within. You read something and it resonates the knowledge long present within you, bringing it from your subconscious into your conscious. A fish is brought from beneath the surface into open air.

So my point is, peripheries have a purpose as long as they serve as means to an ends, not ends in themselves.

Absolutely. I never said anything about burning books!

Yes, The Active-Passive concentration/meditation seems the best way.
There's a good technique by Max Heindel which consists of concentrating on the object then contemplating it, not sure dat's wat' u meant?

Tom!  When you went with this fish analogy had you read my last  post on Orbit Alert?  Is this the biggest synchronicity I've ever experienced, or not?  Naw, you had to of read it.

On a lighter, and way funny note (and not meant to desist the relativity of what you write in your post)--I was once ocean fishing and we got over a school of fish, and believe it or not they were just flying into the boat!  It was the most hilarious thing for us to see and deal with, as you may imagine, but I'm sure not so for the fish.  Now there's a big difference in size between a fish bucket and even a very  small boat, but what you wrote made me laugh and I just had to share this.

Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground.

Re: Knowledge? Power?

I know you didn't mean burn books smile My point was just to expand upon yours and clear up any potential misunderstandings others might have. For example, someone could ask "So I should never read a newspaper or book?" The answer is that it depends on what you do with it. Without the 'central' ingredient, it can be a distraction. Worms vs Fish.

I'm not familiar with that technique. Just did a search on Max Heindel and couldn't find info on the particular method he recommends. Could you please give me a link or a summary of his method?

Re: Knowledge? Power?

Booya. The fish analogy takes the cake Tom.

You HAVE to fish to EAT, to LIVE. In a lake like our little blue-marble earth, there are many fish of all sorts. We chew and learn. We discipline ourselves not to swallow that which doesn't taste right. Once we notice that there's something in the water, we realize that many people around us who are fishing are eating worms and not even fish. We try to tell them that their eating worms but they look up at us with a worm sliming into their mouths like long spaghetti and a dumbfounded look on their faces, and we sigh.

Well, are you meditating on a book? The Universe? Your breath? A sparkly little atom right there in the centre? Hmmm.

If meditation on a subject is boring, reflect. If you do not meditate your mind, then meditate your body. How? Yes, breathing. However make sure you are not breathing from your chest as commonly done in western culture. Breath from your dan-tien, which is right below your navel. It is the power-center of your entire body. Qigong is basically stretching, with focus on breathing on certain postures, and then exhaling back at regular stance to release toxins. By releasing toxins, the body alleviates and amplifies the immune system and the Qi-flow (vital energy) flows smoother.

Even if you don't get into Qigong, try to breath from your stomache instead of your chest. Long-term effects of changing this "habit" range from alleviating the "tense" qualities that many of us share to better sleep-cycles.

Why not? The link of stuart wilde that Montalk gave me (www.stuartwilde.com) refers to Yoga (stems from Qigong) as harmful in many aspects. However they bring up ideas of "ghouls" which still needs to be discussed, so be vigilant.

Re: Knowledge? Power?

Does Yoga really stems from Qigong?

Re: Knowledge? Power?

Great thread all around, I was wondering in the past few days what was the point exactly of passive meditation, it greatly helps me when I'm so agitated that I can't think about something for more than 10 seconds, but I don't see the point in extending it for longer than is necessary to recenter in the present. If I do it for too long I feel like I'm just escaping into the pleasure of no-mind.

Do you see contemplation as inner listening or as something else?

Re: Knowledge? Power?

The Heindel Concentration-Contemplation technique can be found at the Rosicrucian Fellowship website. They have many great (free) downloads. The method is in the Pamphlets, at #12.

The idea in a nutshell is to concentrate on the object, concept etc. It works better if you are able to see it as an energy-point rather than having it floating around in your mind(which is not concentration then!).
The second part is, with the same focus point, to contemplate it and look at whatever comes to your mind, not interpreting it if possible but just try to get the gist of it. He explains it a lot better actually.

Re: Knowledge? Power?

Of course, this is a good way to vector your own fine energies outside yourself.  Focus on external things, even external in your mind, is a way to feed 4D STS.

Not to throw the babe with the bath, I'll have a look at the website.  Rosicrucian's teaching meditation on a website, that should be interesting.

Re: Knowledge? Power?

Does Yoga really stems from Qigong?

I guess we'll only know for sure when I can get Ark to ask this question. Hehe. Or when I make a trillion dollars I can make it public that I'll pay a hefty reward for anyone who opens up communication with 6D STO... smile

Humour aside, yoga and tai-chi, etc are all stemmed from eastern-technology. This is very interesting as it means that it is the only thing I know of that has survived (even if fractionally) the Iron Age. No one really knows when Qigong truly started. Whatever is said is speculation and not fact. Qigong comes from Lemuria, in my opinion anyway. Qigong methodology is advanced and erases the illusion of death from disease being such a common annoyance. It's rubbish when you realize that the human-body is a power-house. A little retro-virus is going to end US? Give me a break. The day I see a Qigong practioner die from Cancer, is the day I throw in the towel. Remain vigilant people because our food is chemicalized, our milk filled with hormones (with everlasting compound residue) and from what Stuart Wilde says, we got ghouls crawling up our arses! Vigilance indeed! smile

Of course we have to keep our sense of humour.
