Topic: Frozen Light

Hello All - I'm a new this forum (first post) -

Thought I'd start off sharing an interesting article I saw linked on slashdot this morning : http://www.physorg.com/news3679.html

"Scientists at Harvard University have shown how ultra-cold atoms can be used to freeze and control light to form the "core" – or central processing unit – of an optical computer."

It caught my eye, as I remember reading in various esoteric sources about theories claiming all matter/energy/consciousness is "frozen light".

Perhaps its unrelated, but I just found it interesting. Any thoughts?

Very interesting.

I believe the theories concerning the concept of matter/energy/consciousness being made from 'frozen light' as right. So using light as an information carrier/storage space is a great idea IMO, only emulating the best here.
