He's gone? Oh well...
I realize what the matrix control system is and I have learned other things from montalk and various sources which would lead me to consider myself awake.
Well, to end all of this confusion, please define 'awake' so that we can all gain a better understanding.
Now once again I don't consider this the end-all, as I am still dealing with numerous problems, but just knowing this information is valuable for my quest of spiritual advancement.
Yes - I agree.
Perhaps instead of focusing on telling me that I'm awake yet, you could accept that I know what I'm talking about and give advice on how I can achieve full awakenness.
I never disputed that you know what you're talking about. We talk all of the time, hoping to gain understanding in the listener.
Again, the following quotation will assist with the point I'm making:
"People imagine that they often, if not always, understand one another, or that they can, at any rate, understand one another if they try or want to. [...] As a matter of fact, no one understands anyone else. Two men can say the same thing with profound conviction but call it by different names." [Ouspensky/Gurdjieff, ISOTM]
Also, to use the word "know", you have to define it. Knowledge is relative. To say you "know" something, is to assume that there is no extra that can add to this knowledge. That it is complete. Is this even possible? Personally, I don't think so.
As for giving you advice on achieving "full awakeness" (I thought you were already awake, so this is a contradiction), I did. Advice is subjective as you are aware of. If you sincerely wanted my advice, in any form that it came, then you would have accepted my first post. This was advice. I advised you to not make assumptions.
But of course, my advice didn't appeal to you - why? Because, from my perspective, it cracked the illusion of being 'awake' by implying that you may just not be.
You even admit this yourself. You say one thing ("I have awakened") and then say another ("...how I can achieve full awakenness").
Which is it to be? If you would like me to understand, then please define 'awakened' and 'know'. Then, and only then, will I consider 'believing you' or 'trusting you'.
Craig
Craig doesn't even post here anymore. Guess everybody missed his post where he said he was leaving. People keep posting stuff to him as if he's still around responding.
It would appear that Craig's not gone. Hooray! ![]()
Also, to use the word "know", you have to define it. Knowledge is relative. To say you "know" something, is to assume that there is no extra that can add to this knowledge.
Not so. To say that you "know" something is to say that you have had sufficient evidential verification of a "thing" to have obtained proof of its nature or existence. People often use the word "know" incorrectly. How many times do you hear Christians say things like, "I know Jesus loves you," or, "I know God will judge your soul when you die"? But they don't KNOW this, rather they BELIEVE it. Knowing has little to do with how much you know; rather, it is true only if what you say you know has been proven to you through your own direct experience and observation.
I advised you to not make assumptions.
Then this would be a case of, "do thou as I say, and not as I do." Your first post on this thread made an assumption that Will didn't know what he was talking about when he said he had been awakened. If, as you agreed, awakening is "relative and subjective," then you have no basis whatsoever to say that Will is merely given over to wishful thinking in this regard.
You even admit this yourself. You say one thing ("I have awakened") and then say another ("...how I can achieve full awakenness").
True: One is either awake or one is not. "Full awakeness" is not a very helpful term in this regard. I can't answer for him, but I will make an assumption (go me!) that he was indirectly referring to the three step process I mentioned earlier: awakening, remembering, and reunifying. Being fully awake implies being fully aware, and this can only come about when you KNOW who you are and why you are here. Knowing the ins-and-outs of the Matrix Control System means diddly if you don't have any idea of your own reason for being within it in the first place.
Which is it to be? If you would like me to understand, then please define 'awakened' and 'know'. Then, and only then, will I consider 'believing you' or 'trusting you'.
Perhaps you should consider why you have such a need to believe or trust him at all. What should it matter to you whether he truly is awakened or not? Makes no difference to you ![]()
Craig,
If you really are genuine then I agree with Lyra, I'm sorry you've gotten off on the wrong foot around here. However, just like Christine did, I found most of your early posts to be extremely patronising.
Christine had an agenda. She thought I was BlackBox and this was the stimulus for her post.
Nobody here has to pass any 'tests' to be accepted by the people of Noble Realms. We're a very friendly bunch of people who are keen to learn from one another regardless of our current level of knowledge or background.
I don't recall saying that anybody had to pass any tests. As for wanting to learn from one another - I now have to disagree. Perhaps, in general this is the case. With Will however, he just wanted "advice" that suited his agenda and illusions, OSIT. So really, he didn't want to sincerely learn.
However, I doubt any of us here take too kindly to a complete stranger turning up out of the blue telling us whether we are 'awakened' or not. If you really do want to be a part of Noble Realms then I suggest you get to know people a little bit better before you start patronising them!
I never told multiple people whether they were awakened or not, so your use of the plural pronouns, "us" and "we" is manipulative. It is gathering people up on the board to oppose me; binary oppositions, i.e. us versus you.
Craig you keep talking about people thinking of themselves as Self Important or full of Pride - so i think that best represents YOU.
Again, this is manipulation. I never said that anybody was "full of pride", I said that your, "im not female" comment was probably made out of 'male pride', but that's it. Usually, when we write something with or in a certain context, we place our priorities at the top, based on importance. I just thought it was funny that you didn't place it at the bottom as a note or "P.S."; maybe I'm looking into it too much.
It would appear that Craig's not gone. Hooray!

Thanks NeoMatrix. Although, would you say that this definition applies to what Will is saying - that he has "awakened"? I suppose to be safer, we must await his own definition of the word.
Miminikelo said: ...being 'awake' is an integral part of the awakening.
Can somebody explain this to me? I still think it is paradoxical. IMO, I don't think using the word 'awake' is valid in this sense.
Let's apply it to the actual process of physical sleep. We are not "awake" when we are in the process of 'waking up'. It is an entirely different state of mind. So, in fact, Will isn't AWAKE because he is still in the process of 'waking up' - which he acknowledges.
This probably isn't 'correct', but I'd say that Will has increased his awareness and only having complete awareness constitutes 'awake'. But again, I'm not sure.
I don't recall saying that anybody had to pass any tests.
How about: "Which is it to be? If you would like me to understand, then please define 'awakened' and 'know'. Then, and only then, will I consider 'believing you' or 'trusting you'." This is a test.

You just made another assumption (about his sincerity). I would agree though, that his backing down and asking you how to be "fully awakened" shows that perhaps he still has some ways to go in his process. "Tell me what to think," which appears to be the essence of what Will said, is *generally* the hallmark of one still undergoing awakening.
I never told multiple people whether they were awakened or not, so your use of the plural pronouns, "us" and "we" is manipulative. It is gathering people up on the board to oppose me; binary oppositions, i.e. us versus you.
Agreed: herd mentality is not needed here. Personally speaking, I enjoy a good debate with those of differing opinions

Yep! I was expanding and editing my post above, and I pretty much said the same thing, and adding my own "assumption" of what he might mean.
Can somebody explain this to me? I still think it is paradoxical. IMO, I don't think using the word 'awake' is valid in this sense.
It is paradoxical. Being awake is the natural state of being that would follow the process of awakening. It is not really a part of the awakening process itself, but rather is the result.
Let's apply it to the actual process of physical sleep. We are not "awake" when we are in the process of 'waking up'. It is an entirely different state of mind. This probably isn't 'correct', but I'd say that Will has increased his awareness and only having complete awareness constitutes 'awake'. But again, I'm not sure.
Without a more concrete definition of what Will would view as being "awake", it is impossible to say. Needless to say however, that one cannot be both awake and awakening at the same time.
Thank you! ![]()
Please Will, just put me out of my misery, already!
Goodnight.
Can we ever "awaken"? If so, where do we set the bar for what constitutes an awakened state? Or do we admit that "awakened" only has meaning when relative to a lower stage of awareness from which one has passed?
Be careful not to confuse objective with absolute, or subjective with relative.
In order for there to be an absolute definition, the bar would be set as high as possible. If not, then there would be something higher than that bar to which the "awakened" state is just another form of sleep. So we'd have to raise the bar to the level of Creator-hood itself. Even if we grew to the level of oversoul or sixth density entity, being an individualized entity implies non-unity, still something within the illusion and thus sleep.
So I think looking for an "objective" (meaning, absolute) standard of "awake" becomes absurd since only the Creator would be awake and everything else would be asleep...but since the Creator is by definition everything, well...
Therefore the definition has to be relative. There is no absolute "awake" point - just states called "awake" relative to the lesser state of awareness, which is "awake" relative to the lesser state of awareness, etc...
The problem comes when you say "I am awake" and claim that you have jumped the bar, that there is no farther you can go. You can claim your view is objective since lesser views are clearly subjective and fallacious. But thinking your view is also absolute means you then start defending your worldview against new information instead of expanding it.
And I think this would be yet another danger of subscribing to an absolute definition of awakeness -- by defining the bar at a certain height, you lock yourself into it. Why not just say "I am awake relative to where I was before, but will be even more awake in the future"? There's no more semantic paradox here than in the Preamble to the Constitution saying "in order to form a more perfect Union".
"Awake" can be relative without being subjective.
[p.s Welcome back, Craig.]
This is becoming a very interesting thread ![]()

Awakening could be classed as that state in which we have dropped all illusions about our external reality, refusing to allow it to define us, as we start seeking answers from within. However, awakening itself can happen on more than one level. The "Matrix within a Matrix" concept still applies here. The only point at which we could truly be considered awake is when reunified with the Whole from which we came. At any other point, we are still living within an illusory dream world and not really "awake" by the most objective definition of the term.
In order for there to be an absolute definition, the bar would be set as high as possible. If not, then there would be something higher than that bar to which the "awakened" state is just another form of sleep. So we'd have to raise the bar to the level of Creator-hood itself. Even if we grew to the level of oversoul or sixth density entity, being functionally separated from other entities of that level implies non-unity, still something within the illusion and thus sleep.
Yep, exactly.
So I think looking for an "objective" (meaning, absolute) standard of "awake" becomes absurd since only the Creator would be awake and everything else would be asleep...but since the Creator is by definition everything, well...
The only true objective definiton of "awake" would be the level of consciousness that the Creator itself has. If and when we ever get back to that level, when we truly go back Home, then--and only then--will we know what that is.
Therefore the definition has to be relative. There is no absolute "awake" point - just states called "awake" relative to the lesser state of awareness, which is "awake" relative to the lesser state of awareness, etc...
Well, *our* definition has to be relative. The absolute "awake" point is the Creator/Source/Whole/God/Bruce Almighty/whatever. The capstone of the pyramid, so to speak. Anything beneath that is subject to a relative "awakeness" that applies only to that level.
And I think this would be yet another danger of sticking to a singular definition of awakeness -- by defining the bar at a certain height, you lock yourself into it. Why not just say "I am awake relative to where I was before, but will be even more awake in the future"? There's no more semantic paradox here than in the Preamble to the Constitution saying "in order to form a more perfect Union".
As a point of convenience, it doesn't hurt to define a certain level or point as being "awake" within this reality. Here in third density, that means recognizing the MCS and its sundry illusions, and recognizing the existence of levels of reality beyond this one. Those who are asleep are those who are still locked into the MCS-conditioned mentality, and accept this physical reality as "all there is". It doesn't matter much to me right now what other levels of "awake" or "awakeness" there may be beyond that particular point, because it isn't something I will likely experience whilst still incarnated here.
"You even admit this yourself. You say one thing ("I have awakened") and then say another ("...how I can achieve full awakenness")."
No, I wasn't contridicting myself. I was putting you on the spot to tell me how you think I can be fully awakened since you don't believe I am. Let me define how I consider myself awake: I consider that I am awake to the MCS and its agents and I realize the way I was living my life before this wasn't in the path of spirtualness. I used to be a slave to the matrix system and it cause me a lot of unhappyness. Now that I know about it and its agenda, I consider myself awake in that regard. Now if we were going by Neomatrix's system, I probably still am at step two right now.
Now if we were going by Neomatrix's system, I probably still am at step two right now.
Cool! I have my own system! LOL. "Your three step course to spiritual union in the infinite realms of the one true creator. This single CD set can be exclusively yours for only $9 ... 99 ... 9 ... 999."
Hey come on spiritual union is not just for the rich ![]()

Agreed. But don't let TPTB hear you saying such things! ![]()

Makes sense to me. There has to be a maximum "awakeness" level an individual can achieve within the given the limits of his present body and life circumstance. I guess that would mean fulfilling the top extent of one's current potentiality in third density. This point is probably unique to each individual, but there are some general commonalities as described in esoteric systems like hermeticism, Sufism, Fourth Way, etc... I'm guessing this is what Craig has in mind. (right, Craig?)
Max awakening would involve remembering who you are for starters, and a complete mind-merge with your Higher Self. Something like Christ Consciousness activation, full activation of the higher centers/chakras. In that sense, awakening to the fact that our corporate and social system is a control system is a good step, but far from the last.
Definitely a matter of degree, though. Like what Don Harkins wrote in his article "Slavery and the Eight Veils"
Behind the first veil: There are over six billion people on the planet. Most of them live and die without having seriously contemplated anything other than what it takes to keep their lives together. Ninety percent of all humanity will live and die without having pierced the first veil.
The first veil: Ten percent of us will pierce the first veil and find the world of politics. We will vote, be active and have an opinion. Our opinions are shaped by the physical world around us; we have a tendency to accept that government officials, network media personalities and other "experts" are voices of authority. Ninety percent of the people in this group will live and die without having pierced the second veil.
The second veil: Ten percent of us will pierce the second veil to explore the world of history, the relationship between man and government and the meaning of self-government through constitutional and common law. Ninety percent of the people in this group will live and die without having pierced the third veil.
The third veil: Ten percent of us will pierce the third veil to find that the resources of the world, including people, are controlled by extremely wealthy and powerful families whose incorporated old world assets have, with modern extortion strategies, become the foundation upon which the world's economy is currently indebted. Ninety percent of the people in this group will live and die without having pierced the fourth veil.
The fourth veil: Ten percent of us will pierce the fourth veil to discover the Illuminati, Freemasonry and the other secret societies. These societies use symbols and perform ceremonies that perpetuate the generational transfers of arcane knowledge that is used to keep the ordinary people in political, economic and spiritual bondage to the oldest bloodlines on earth. Ninety percent of the people in this group will live and die without having pierced the fifth veil.
The fifth veil: Ten percent of us will pierce the fifth veil to learn that the secret societies are so far advanced technologically that time travel and interstellar communications have no boundaries and controlling the actions of people is what their members do as offhandedly as we tell our children when they must go to bed. Ninety percent of the people in this group will live and die without having pierced the sixth veil.
The sixth veil: Ten percent of us will pierce the sixth veil where the dragons and lizards and aliens we thought were the fictional monsters of childhood literature are real and are the controlling forces behind the secret societies. Ninety percent of the people in this group will live and die without piercing the seventh veil.
The seventh veil: I do not know what is behind the seventh veil. I think it is where your soul is evolved to the point you can exist on earth and be the man Ghandi was, or the woman Peace Pilgrim was-people so enlightened they brighten the world around them no matter what.
The eighth veil? Piercing the eighth veil probably reveals God and the pure energy that is the life force in all living things-which are, I think, one and the same.
