Topic: More Discoveries on Biorhythems

Hi all,

Some of you may remember the link I posted awhile back in the links section for the (free!) Applet program that can chart your personal biorhthems cycle.  Well...I've just discovered some more amazing finds on this subject, which I wanted to pass along in case anybody here is interested in seeing if this applies to themselves as well.   First, here's the link before I get into anything else. It's a fantastic program, and so far is the best (free!) one that I've been able to find on the 'net:

http://www.biorhythm.ca/winapplet.html

And for those here that are unfamiliar with what biorhythems are, I highly recommend researching this, and the above link provides ample explanation and background into it.  To sum it up in a nutshell, decades back scientist/researchers (can't remember their names offhand - we have a book on it at home which gives the history, but I do know one of them was German) discovered that the human body has cycles that it goes through for its emotions, phsyical condition, intuition and intellectual capabilities.  These cycles flow along as a sine wave, with peaks and troughs, each one with a different frequency, beginning most likely at the moment of birth. (maybe sooner! I always wondered....)  Many times the waves will converge together in the cycle, creating very interesting occurances in one's life.  I mentioned in that other thread how I've noticed a correlation between my biorhthems cycles and when "strange and unusual" things happen to me in life.

Well.........I've discovered even more, and taken it further.  Before, I only researched this a little, enough to notice a correlation, but I didn't go much further with it and let it slip to the wayside. Too lazy, basically.  wink   But I recently printed out my biorhythems cycle charts for each month of 2004 and really dug into it and started making cross comparisons with my log book.  (My log book is where I document all my de ja vus, ear ringings, number sightings, and strange happenings in general, as well as keep any "photographic evidence".  I have it divided up into sections for each topic, and everything is in date order.)

First, I went through each biorhythem chart for each month, using a highlighter to make little highlight marks on every peak, every trough, every time the cycle was at "zero point",  and every instance where one wave crosses over another in the cycle.  So lots of little highlight dashes bringing attention to all critical moments in each cycle.

Next, I hauled out the ol' log book and went through each section one by one, cross correlating everything month by month.  Every ear ringing I checked the chart for whatever month it happened to see if it corresponded to one of the highlighted critical moments.  Every de ja vu, every number sighting, and so on and so forth.

What I found was basically a 98% correlation.  Maybe 1 or 2 incidents at the most for each topic didn't correlate to a highlighted mark.  Meaning: 98% of the other incidents DID land on a critical moment in the cycle - Either when the cycle was at its top most peak, or bottom most trough, or at the exact zero point, or crossing/converging with another cycle.  Nearly every one, every single time, over and over again!!   Those are astronomical odds, and ones that can't be ignored!    And just to give you a comparison - if you were to do your own charts you'll see that there are definitely plenty of "ho hum" moments in everybody's cycles where the waves aren't crossing over anything or peaking or bottoming out.   So, just to give you an idea of the odds on this.

But wait...............there's more!   big_smile

So I discovered that more than 98% of all my incidents correlated to a critical moment in my biorhythem cycles.  Now, were there patterns to be found within that?

The answer:   Yes!

More than 95% percent of every de ja vu I've had this year happened when 2 or more cycles were crossed/converging over each other on the chart, quite a few times when cycles criss crossed over the zero point.  They didn't usually occur during any peaks or troughs, only during criss crossing. The more cycles converging, the stronger the de ja vus.   I always assumed my de ja vus were random, and this was one thing I never bothered to look into, but I was wrong.  In fact, the de ja vus are just as "organized" as anything else.

The ear ringings happen 95% of the time when my physical biorhythem is either at it's top most peak, or bottomed out.

The number sightings happen I'd say probably 90% of the time in correlation to my intuition / intelligence cycles peaking or bottoming out.  It's usually a mix of intuition and intelligence, sometimes with the physical thrown in as well.

The more cycles coming together at the same time in a peak or a trough or zero point, the more "weird things" happening is what I discovered when combing back through my log book and cross comparing to my charts.

And interestingly, the biggest tone/gong I've had in 2 years, which was back in August, just so happened when ALL FOUR CYCLES were criss crossed over each other.  When it happened at the time I felt like I'd been "Gonged" by a tuning fork.  It was crazy. I was literally siting there holding my head squinting in pain like "AHHHHHHH!"  big_smile And when it was over I went from feeling lethargic and sick and out of it to being sharp as a bell, wide awake and focused.  Whatever it was it set me straight.   Needless to say I was pretty shocked to see what my biorhythem chart looked like for that day, and to see that there was indeed something to be found in it.

Another interesting point is that on the day when I began experiencing the "heart chakra palpatations", (which I've written about in another thread) it was the day when my emotional cycle was at its top most cyclical peak that month!  Coincidence??

I'm still reeling over this discovery, almost a week later, so much that I wanted to share it with everybody and really encourage looking into this.  There's really something to this.  Between this, and the "Moon Cycle" chart that Montalk devised using Excel, which proves without a shadow of a  doubt that people's crazy behavior and other things correlate to the new and full moon cycles, I feel like we're over here deciphering the construct of reality!  big_smile   Seeing the man behind the curtain, the program construct or something, whatever you want to call it.  It's pretty cool!

It's like the lab rats suddenly "getting smart" and instead of running amok in the maze all over the place with no direction, they begin taking over the damn maze and transcending it with their newfound knowledge.  wink

Re: More Discoveries on Biorhythems

Intruiging find.

Skepdic mentions:
There have been some three dozen studies supporting biorhythm theory but all of them have suffered from methodological and statistical errors (Hines, 1998). An examination of some 134 biorhythm studies found that the theory is not valid (Hines, 1998).

But I am not sure if they also take into account these qualitative experiences like deja vu. ear ringing and number sightings (is that some kind of synchronicity alert?), a interesting angle.

The 98% correlation would suggest that either the biorythms cause it, or there is some sort of underlying cause, suggesting that ear ringing, number sightings and deja vu are not dependent on other factors - but only a biorythm related one... which seems a bit odd to me.

I would be interested if you could put a table (perhaps in ascii) in a forum post or online like this:
date, type of event (de ja vus, ear ringings, number sightings), biorythm physical bio score, emotional bio score, intellectual bio score (and perhaps also intuitive bio score and perhaps secondary biorythm scores).

Can someone answer what and if biorythm *theory* has to do with the moon cylcle? They are in the same ballpark (amount of days).
But the moon cycle is not exactly 29 days and is not locked to the earth orbit of 24 hours, like the biorythms are...

edit: there is also the curious 5 day interval between the various rhythms. Why 5 and not four? (23, 28, 33).
Could there also be some connection with the distinction body, mind, soul? Or in lieu of this: the chakra's? Any pointers to somekind of physical theory?

Re: More Discoveries on Biorhythems

lyra that's amazing. Thanks for sharing this. It's funny that you mention the heart chakra palpitations and your emotional peak. I was just wondering if maybe each biorhythm is actually related to the energy of our chakras or centers. After all these energy fluctuations have to emanate from somewhere don't they? If that's the case then there's probably 7 cycles in total, one for each chakra.

Hi bumblebee.  Well, just because skepdic says it, doesn't make it so. wink   I've discovered more about the biorhythems thing besides what I've already talked about, and I'll get into that in just a second, but do keep in mind this everybody:   The biorhythems thing, as far as I can tell, is definitely a big piece of the puzzle.  Also, TPTB would prefer that we really do continue being lab rats running amok, chasing our tails, totally clueless about not only ourselves but reality as well.  We are better controlled that way.  But I'm actually really glad that you were able to find that link and post it, because for me that better illustrates the point about the attempt to squelch valuable material that would help us.

Now, the other stuff I discovered........

Back in May at my last job in Florida I had a "bad week" you could say.  EVERYBODY was being stupid, couldn't work the office equipment and kept coming to me, the lowley little temp, all angry or freaking out about the equipment with tons of questions there was no way I would ever have the answer to.  My boss was being crazy, there was a female coworker of mine who was acting like a total...um, you know, not a nice chick, I mean, we couldn't speak two words to each other without her getting snippy and mean, the customers coming in to lookat boats were being obnoxious, and it was like everything was hitting the fan.  I almost walked out in fact.  I came ***this close*** to going off on some people and then getting up and walking out by Thursday afternoon, I was just so aggravated and annoyed at everybody and everything.  But, I didn't do that.  Instead, I took a deep breath, bit my tongue and decided to "sleep on it' over the course of the weekend.   Then miraculously, everything did a 180 the very next day, Friday, even my snippy coworker did an about face.   So it was a good thing I hung in there patiently.  Now, how this relates to biorhythems...............Months later I looked back at that week on my chart and wouldn't you know it...........3 out of 4 of my cycles were totally bottoming out during that week.   !   So....either one of two things were happening..............Either my bottomed out cycles caused me to be a little more "sensitive" then I normally might be, or, "unseen forces" took advantage of what could be called a vulnerability in my cycle.   Either way, one can't deny the major coincidence.  And actually, I tend to think it's the "unseen forces" idea, only because after I chose to *not* respond, (or, "not doing" as the Toltecs call it) everything just stopped instantly.  Boom.  Overnight.  In fact the very next day I was offered the position full time with a 2 dollar an hour raise.  It was BIZARRE.

So I think something was trying to "interfere" and got people around me to act like crazy nuts, taking advantage of my biorhythem cycle which naturally had 3 cycles bottomed out.  I would have overreacted and shot myself in the foot, losing the opportunity.  See, because I stayed and took the job full time I was able to save mass amounts of money and therefore, leave Florida for better horizons.   I think something could have been trying to exploit a weak point and derail that.   Just an idea, as nuts as it might sound.

Either the biorhythems cause it...which honestly I don't necessarily believe, or......"something", those unseen forces that I just mentioned, may be exploiting an individual's cycle, and manipulating their personal reality around the cycles.   !!!    You know, looking for times when the cycles are peaking, or when they're bottoming out and most vulnerable; then manipulating them during those times, abducting them during those times, etc. etc.

The reason I can be sure the biorhythems aren't causing the phenomenon is because the phenomenons in themselves mean something.  Ear ringings for me and many others are usually monitoring, and usually before an abduction.  Because the ear ringing in itself means something separate, therefore, the biorhthem can't be responsible for it.  But it can be the reason why the ear ringing (translation = abduction)  happens then, and not four days later, for example. It's because that's the best time in that person's cycle to snag them for whatever they plan to do.   But yeah, see what I mean?   Again, I'm just theorizing, trying to take what puzzle pieces I have and see what they say.

It really does put a whole new spin on this for those of us out there with the "weird stuff" happening.  Biorhythems are normally just used in superficial ways, to discover when you're going to be at your best.  "The best times to take tests!  The best times to make decisions!   The best time to move!"   But here I am going deeper and seeing that "something" is using it for a whole lot more than that!

bumblebee wrote:

Five day interval...............good catch!    Hadn't noticed that.  5...I'm sure it means something.  Isn't 5 a major number in nature?  I don't know, I could be wrong.  But I'm sure it does mean something.  As we're discovering slowly but surely..............all seems to have organized arrangement and higher design.  It's scary actually.   It really isn't random the way they'd have us believe.

Hi seeker!   Thanks.   This is a FANTASTIC idea.  I bet you're right.  I still need to research in depth the Chakra thing; SednaSphere recommended a book on another thread that I need to get a hold of.  Now that I see there could be a link to the chakras and biorhythems I will definitely get on it.  Woohoo!  I love having new stuff to research!  smile

Re: More Discoveries on Biorhythems

A couple of weeks ago I travelled to a european country for a weekend to take ayahuasca with a group of people I know. I drank it two nights in a row, but absolutely nothing happened on both nights. I may as well have been drinking water and I was a bit pissed off about that to say the least.

Anyway I've just been playing around with that Biorythm software (thanks for the link Lyra) and I've found that on that weekend all four of my cycles were totally bottomed out. I guess that could explain why nothing happened.

I take mushrooms quite a lot (2 or 3 times a month), and usually around the same dosage. I've been wondering for awhile now why sometimes I'll have these amazing trips and other times very little happens. I have a feeling it could have a lot to do with biorythms. Anyway I'm gonna try and keep a record of my mushrooms trips and see if the really good ones correspond to when my cycles are peaking. This should be interesting!

Aha, great observation! I do recall reading about additional cycles beyond the ones commonly studied under the term "biorhythm". Here's an excerpt from John Baines's book "The Stellar Man" -- he's discussing the Kybalion and the Law of Rhythm...mentions biorhythms and additional cycles near the end of the excerpt:

JohnBaines wrote:

THE PRINCIPLE OF RHYTHM

The Principle of Rhythm states: "Everything flows out and in,
everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-
swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the
right, is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates."

This principle teaches us that everything is subject to
rhythmic oscillation, which is manifested between two
poles. There is action and reaction, an ebb and flow, an ad
vance and retreat, a rise and fall, and this is applicable to
absolutely everything. The Universe, the planets, Nature,
man, nations, and civilizations, all are born to reach the
heights and then to decline and be destroyed, thus fulfilling
the cycle of life. This ebb and flow is manifested in our phys-
ical body, in our emotions, feelings, instincts, intelligence,
and even in the different vital situations in which we live. It
refers to our personal projects, our relationships with other
people, our contact with Nature, and in general, everything
that forms a part of our lives.

The symbol of the Principle of Rhythm is the pendulum.
Its oscillation explains the action of rhythm, whose measure-
ment toward the left is the same as that toward the right. On
a practical note, we could even call this law, "the Law of the
Pendulum." Creation occurs according to the pendulum;
there is an emanation of The All, and an absorption follows.
Emanation is the time of creation and absorption is the stage
in which The All reintegrates its energy in itself.

We can compare this to the cycle of human respiration.
The Supreme Being radiates his energy until it materializes
into a physical creation, and when this reaches the summit,
its maximum degree of materialization, it then starts the op-
posite oscillation of the pendulum until it again reaches
dematerialization or death, and the divine creative energy is
reintegrated into its original source. In the same way, nations
reach the summit of their power and then gradually decline.
Nothing escapes this law; it is an absolutely inevitable
process. It is not easy, however, to determine when a human
being, a civilization, or a strength has reached its zenith.
What we do know with certainty is that decay inevitably
takes place.

The Principle of Rhythm together with that of Polarity,
previously mentioned, are the forces which maintain the
process of life, as life is always a force which moves alterna
tively and rhythmically between two poles. If we had to
define life and death, we would say that life is the oscillation
between two poles, and death the polarization of the force at
one extreme for a time which surpasses the equilibrium of
Nature. This polarization can be negative or positive. It is
negative when both poles are too close together, each one of
them losing a great part of its intrinsic qualities. It is positive
when it is possible to consciously destroy an undesirable vi-
bration and the polarity is changed, polarizing in the
extreme opposite direction.

In the case of negative polarization due to a weakening
of the opposite poles, a decay of vital forces is produced
which may end in the fusion of the poles; this is equivalent
to death. The secret of life is thus revealed in a simple man-
ner: it is the constant maintenance of the tension between
two poles. Truthfully, we could say that when a child is
born, the opposite poles of his life are very far apart and
therefore the tension between them is great. But as the child
grows older, the opposites begin to join, and life declines. In
this case, the two poles are the conscious and the subcon-
scious, or we may also speak of the individual himself and
his environment. The constant impact between man and en-
vironment (stimulus) slowly depolarizes him, draining his
vital force.

By examining man's vital functions, we can verify that
polarity and rhythm control the organism in its most delicate
processes, and that illness is always a disturbance of the
rhythm or polarity. The body needs to maintain a constant
state of equilibrium, and the loss of this implies an abnormal
condition. Science calls this equilibrium homeostasis. Home-
ostasis has not been sufficiently studied, and it is certain that
if scientists would use the Principles of Rhythm and Polarity,
they would discover many new things.

The functions of the heart, breathing, sleeping, and alert-
ness are all governed by the law of the pendulum. Sleep, for
example, provides us with the necessary alternation in order
to maintain our equilibrium. We know that the lack of sleep
provokes serious disorders, as it destroys organic equilibrium.
For a long time the knowledge of "biorhythms" re-
mained in the heart of esoteric schools. This consists of the
vital cycles which affect the human being with a positive or
negative alternation. Today this knowledge has become
popular and there are even pocket calculators for determin-
ing this action. Nevertheless, only three rhythms have been
revealed.

“¢ The 24-day masculine rhythm, with 12 positive days and 12
negative days

“¢ The 28-day feminine rhythm, with 14 positive days and 14
negative days

“¢ The 33-day intellectual rhythm, with 16 1/2 positive days and
16 1/2 negative days

The rhythms of 40-day, 56-day, 92-day, and 276-day cy-
cles have not yet been revealed to the masses.

The object of this book is not to supply instructions on
biorhythms which would require a separate volume. There-
fore, we will only give an extremely important tip for those
who follow the indications of biorhythms in their daily life.
These people should keep a diary in which they note all
happy or unfortunate occurrences, in order to determine
which of the rhythms has a greater influence in their lives, as
this is something that is entirely personal.

Some individuals will be very affected by the negative in
the 24-day rhythm, while others will feel the negative cycle
of the 33-day rhythm.

One of the most important aspects of the Principle of
Rhythm is the fact that each person creates his own rhythmic
state according to the nature of his acts, which take on a
rhythm of their own when repeated several times. By virtue
of these events being repeated periodically in an individual's
life, these events or acts occur without his will. That is, events
do not happen because the individual wants them to, but on
the contrary, he will be incapable of neutralizing events.

Baines then goes on to discuss how negative rhythms can be initiated by certain types of negative experiences that, left unresolved, will peak everytime astrological and psychological conditions are similar to when the cycle was initiated. He also talks about the hermetic skill of using natural cycles to swing you to the top and then using willpower to stay there on the downswing.

In another book I'm still reading, Al-Kemi, this is summed up pretty well:

Al-Kemi wrote:

"Cycles are the only way to beat time and space. Yes, the only way to beat those two is on their own ground. And cyclical consciousness places it there. Time is not like a river that flows by and in which you cannot step twice.

Knowledge of cycles gives you a heads up on what's coming up, enough so to make preparations ahead of time and thereby avoid being caught unaware. For me, the moon cycle chart has worked wonders, and now we have biorhythms as a further avenue to work with. Would be great to combine all these in a computer program.

Acquiring fringe knowledge is like digging for diamonds in a mine field.

Re: More Discoveries on Biorhythems

Hi Lyra,
I've watched my biorythms for a few years but I've never kept such
good records like you have.  There is a correlation between our
biorythms and our moods and energy levels.
Defining the three waves and what they encompass is not
as simple to understand as these programs present them.
So, being able to predict certain events/moods/energy levels
would have to pretty much be tailored to each individual and
they would have to keep records like you do!
Just so I don't allow myself to be predisposed to expect to
feel a certain way on a certain day, I try not to look at the
biorythms all the time.
However, whenever I'm feeling slightly out of kilter I'll usually
look to see whether I'm on a critical (zero +/-) day and I often
find that that is the case.  This in itself is sort of reassuring because
I at least have an excuse for being out of whack rather than
having to think that my internal gyroscope is off.
