Topic: Techniques for attracting positive souls into your life?

A few questions for everyone, done in the style of a Moralman thread. Note that these questions do not refer to the internet, but to real life:

1. How many friends do you have right now who take spiritual work seriously, and whose effect on your soul has been provably beneficial?

2. How many people, total, have you known like this?

3. What conditions in your internal state and external circumstances led these people to you, and you to these people?

4. If some of them are now gone, what made them leave?

5. What can a person do to bring friends of truth into his or her daily life? Please be as specific as possible, as if giving someone instructions on what to do tomorrow.

I ask this because the only answer I had for Neomatrix in his questioning thread was that he (and all of us) should "find other truthseekers in real life" and that we should "help each other". But I didn't post that because I have no idea how to find them. I'm highly suspicious of any organized groups--especially ones that advertise. (I know, for instance, that there are shady cults in my area that go around to spiritual bookstores and put bookmarks with their contact information in the Gurdjieff books on the shelf.) It seems to me there must be techniques (meditative, communicative, or otherwise) which an individual can use to bring helpful friends into his or her daily life.

Thank you for responding!

Re: Techniques for attracting positive souls into your life?

I think this really depends on each person's path and destiny. I feel that devising ways to attract positive souls is not so STO, since you try to solidify the future and are sending to the universe the message that the way your situation is right now is not OK (nothing wrong with being alone, despite what the MCS would make us believe).

I would say be true to what you know, follow your destiny no matter how many blocks others try to put on your path, and these positive souls will come to you at the right time and give you the keys/energy to continue (and you'll of course do the same for them).

And to address some of your actual questions (although not in a numbered manner, sorry wink), I have met quite a few such souls while travelling, and very recently 3 of us found each others (in total synchronistic manner) in the same area. We had all felt very lonely and isolated in the past few years, yet we came accross together just at the right time, when we were "ready". As for the internal state when those connection were made, it was oddly at times of despair, just after I had given up trying to find these soul mates. Go figure big_smile (it may be "just me" though, being North Node Leo).

Ask the divine presence in the universe.  Verbally.  Something is out there listening.  Do it respectfully and then leave it alone.

I have 3 categories of friends like this. Friends that live in my area, friends that live in my country, and friends that live worldwide. Currently I don't really have any friends in my area that think the same way as I do. However, I now have about 12 friends in my country that I resonate strongly with. Most of them live in or around London which is about a 2 and a half hour train ride from where I live. Since July I've probably spent more time with these people than I have old friends in my area.

2. How many people, total, have you known like this?

I'm not sure of the exact figure, but well over 50, all of which I've met in the last 2 years.

3. What conditions in your internal state and external circumstances led these people to you, and you to these people?

I've talked about this in another post, but I've met all my friends in Brazil and Canada on Heart of the Initiate workshops. Most of them live in different countries to me so they're not an active part of my life, but I still consider them all to be important friends. Some of them I keep in touch with by email or telephone, others I'll probably never see or hear from again.

I nearly didn't go to Brazil the first time. It was a lot of money - more money than I could afford without getting deeper into debt. My head was screaming "don't go don't go, you can't afford this!!" My heart was saying "You gotta go, You gotta go, this will change your life!" Thankfully I've learnt to trust my heart everytime, and it's never let me down yet!

I'm not sure if I can be specific because everyone's circumstances are different. What you can do has a lot to do with the area you live in, and perhaps unfortunately how much money you have. As stated, for me it was going to Brazil with Heart of the Initiate (twice) to do ayahuasca. As a result of that my life has changed in so many ways and I've made many great friends. The downside is that most of these friends live all around the world so I can't see them or hang out with them when I'd like to.

I've looked for events and meetings going on in my area where I might meet likeminded people but there doesn't seem to be anything going on, or at least nothing that really interests me.

I have spoken to a few spiritual friends about this subject and they all have the same answer - Have a strong intention to find and meet people like yourself, and then synchronisities will start to happen so that you cross paths with similar people. You have to let the universe know exactly what you want - and be as specific as possible.

Perhaps what we need to do is create some kind of website that helps people find like-minded people. I've noticed a recent increase in spiritual dating sites like http://www.soulmatch.com and http://www.spiritualsingles.com/

Maybe we could set up something similar but for people who are looking for friends more than romance. I have my own web server so I'd be happy to provide space for this, I just don't have a lot of spare time. But if anyone has any suggestions of how this could be done then let me know.

One.   Then again, I take the word "friend" seriously.  I'm not someone who calls every acquaintance I know and every coworker I get along with a "friend."  Some people just toss the word around casually - everybody's their friend!   Not me.  smile  So, at the moment, there's one.  I've had tons of acquaintances and buddies over the years.........very few actual friends.

One!  big_smile  Everybody else was just a "normal" person;  either not spiritual but fun to hang with, or, a nice person on the inside but a dysfunctional screwball on the surface.

I asked, like what morningsun76 outlined. smile   Plain and simple.   And I really meant it when I asked, and my internal frequency matched what I was externally saying, so no conflicts going on.

Well, they're still around, not gone yet.

Just ask.  The universe reflects back to you what you resonate with.  When you no longer resonate with screwball, and sincerely desire and want and ask for good, you will bring it in.  If life keeps sending you lemons, it's time to do a "soul check".  Time to bring it in to the shop, prop it up on a lift and get under the hood and figure out where the problem is, find out what is it about you that is attracting those types in.   I used to resonate with screwball, and preferred them because they're more fun, challenging, whatnot.  I was running around being a nut when I was in my early 20's, my life was total chaos -- but it only reflected what I was on the inside. I was chaos!   So my life was chaos.  And the people I hung out with or were drawn to or drew in were (fun) chaos.   After several years of halfhazard chaos I settled down and was just over it.  And I asked for something different.  But you have to get to that point first where you're "over it" and want the good.
