Topic: I am Legend

The new Will Smith movie. Just saw it. Awesome movie with very strong messages, especially a line about listening to God in the quiet. I've seen some of these things in ceremonies, not exactly, more like the feeling of these things. Something like that. Kinda scary so no little kids.
Just see what you think.

Re: I am Legend

Ent Doc is that the new Will Smith movie?  I think it is.  I remember thinking that the storyline sounded pretty interesting, and I like Will Smith.  But because it's supposed to be a one person show I was hesitant.  But now I'm definitely interested, thanks for sharing.

PS - speaking of movies, and this goes way back, sorry, off topic and such, but I only just tonight watched the 1988 John Carpenter movie They Live.  It was especially chilling, I won't say prophetic, but in light of what we truth seekers talk about, I think everyone on the planet needs to see this movie.  Netflix has it.  Sure, Rowdy Roddy Piper is in it.  Doesn't affect the storyline.  He's not bad anyway.  smile

He's todays Jesus! Great 80's movie!

I love the campy one liners

Thats like putting perfume on a pig!

What she needs is a Brazilian plastic surgeon!

I love it when the alien cops come, he just resists and starts blasting. tongue

Re: I am Legend

I'll see this movie in a year or so once it hits the 3 for $20 shelf at the movie store. It looks like a remake of a Charlton Heston movie from the 70's, I think it was called the Andromida Strain.

Speaking of John Carpenter movies, has anyone seen In The Mouth OF Madness? Most movies can't scare me, for some reason my imagination always paints in the production crew. This movie scared me though because i felt the basic premise was plausible. Society operates because we all (for the most part, aside from lunatics) agree on basic modes of behavior and what would happen if all those agreements just flew out the window and the lunatics mode of behavior became the new agreement....scary.

Re: I am Legend

Free_Your_Mind- you sure know your stuff!  Definitely some great one liners there.

And Marklar, I rented They Live on DVD from Netflix.  For 5.00 a month I get two movies.  Not a bad deal.

And I hope to see I am Legend in the near future.  I'll letcha know  ENT Doc.

Re: I am Legend

Actually, I was a bit ambivalent about seeing this movie this afternoon, for fear that it would be just a bunch of one liners and over the top action sequences, (especially after reading this thread and seeing the mention of the one liners) but I was pleasantly surprised.  Whatever one liners there are, are low key, not like the way Will Smith was in "Independence Day."  This is played for realism, and his performance is amazing, in my opinion.  I think he should get an Oscar nod.  He runs through so many different emotions and plays it spot-on.  I don't want to cite scenes for fear of giving away spoilers, but I will say that the movie exceeded my expectations.  I almost didn't go, and now I'm glad I did.

Also, a lot of people in internet land are criticizing the movie because it's supposedly different from the original novel, but to that I say - you always have to treat movies and books as separate entities.  Each are their own medium, and the book was written awhile ago I guess.  So things get changed to make it fit into our current culture and make it more exciting for the big screen.   So for anybody who may have read the book and might go into the theater expecting a verbatim visual retelling of the novel....forget about it.   Just treat the movie as its own deal.

It was interesting though that the movie took place in 2012, of all dates.  The virus happened in 2009, but the movie starts in 2012. Might be some significance there, I'm not sure.  And whatever religious symbolisms are there have already been noted in people's online reviews, so I won't recap it here.  But I definitely recommend the movie, for Will's performance alone.  He makes the movie, imo.  Anybody else and I wouldn't have caved in to see it.

Re: I am Legend

Thanks, lyra, I feel better about it now.  I always wait for movies to go to rentals.  Down here if you actually go to the theater to see one you have to wonder if your vehicle is being broken into while you're enjoying the flick.

Re: I am Legend

I just realized that the mention of one liners in this thread was actually in reference to "They Live," not "I Am Legend."  lol  Good thing I didn't avoid the movie based on that misunderstanding.  haha!

Re: I am Legend

I saw the movie Saturday.  I was attracted to it because I wanted to see the images of New York overgrow with weeds.  I wasn't really attracted to the mutant monster plot, but it did its job: it scared me.  I actually had nightmares after I saw it.

Yeah, it probably seems small, but I think that aspect of the movie was very powerful, and especially that whole opening scene with Robert Neville (Smith) hunting a herd of deer through the streets of quiet, abandoned NYC, the sound of the hooves on the pavement.  Sound was an important element in the scenes where he's walking the streets of NYC during the day, when it's safe to be out.   Visually there's a lot of "noise" with the dirty, abandoned remnants of the city all around and tall skyscrapers looming overhead, but yet it's completely still and quiet....just the sound of birds, and the breeze whispering past the buildings and rustling through the trees.  Sometimes reminiscent of a tropical jungle in fact.  They did a good job capturing the subtleties of sound.

Re: I am Legend

I saw this movie tonight and it was awesome.  Lyra I agree he did an amazing job!  Some scenes were really profound.  A lot of biological themes have been in the media lately.  In this movie and the television show Heroes.  Both take place in new york with a biological theme in the years 2008 for heroes and 2009/2012 for the movie.  I also heard a kid say butterfly in the movie, and saw one later on as well.  And the whole "hive" thing too.

I feel that the movie connects more on a emotional/spiritual level than it does with the symbolism.  Maybe it was the acting.  There must be something in his eyes!  The last scene was great.  Reminds me of life...

Re: I am Legend

nice!! so, i did get the reviews of the movie..thanx everyone..now, I am really going to head out and watch this movie but herez the thing I seriously feel like him even tho! am like surrounded by thousands and the whole friggin planet and travelled across country in United States to India, Middle East, Germany, England and I always felt like something was missing out of everyone i looked at or met or even my own parents. I don't know for some reason this whole reality thing looks like a movie to me as a film that am living and am sure looking for GOD and he is explaining and opening up thru many sources that i can't imagine and thru wonderful people out there like you guyz who do leave out clues to everything that sets right into my puzzle. Well, thats a very scientific approach on the subject but herez something thats personal i want to lay out and see what would you do?

What if every person in your life and everyone around you knows every damn thing you do or think??/

what if you feel like the only person that is alive and everyone is networked in a system to keep you low head and kill yourself with your own will with language syncs to the mind feeding thru your eyes??

what would you do if every person is trying either to sell himself or leaving you with mind boggling talks?

what if you can't even dream and awaken by from your own parents to what not and your dreams are manipulated as false awakenings and nightmares which you fight even in your sleep?

what if you can't even meditate and only time you will find quite would be night and even at that time you could hear people coughing in all over the neighbourhood and if not the stray dogs and cats starts fighting right about when you start getting images in your mind and you are in a deep trance?

what would you do every time you wake up you end up hearing things that are hitting you subconciously to divide you of your own entity and take away your soul from you??

what would you do if the whole world looks like you and you find yourself in everyone and you still can't bend the spoon?

what would you do when you have really no one on your side taking your stress or your problems as their own in flesh with you?

what would you do that everything that you see and hear is just trying to tell you that you need to die but won't you ask why are you trying to kill yourself since your birth??

what would you do no matter how much respect and love you show to people they will still hit you subconciously.

what if you find even the little babies that are born are like capable of grasping everything that you say and even these little children come to you only to hit you subconciously and make you agree to things that you don't want to.

what if the whole damn world is against you and you don't even know the reason??

what if you are made to feel like a friggin messaiah and that you see as the only hope to become spiritually strong to stand up but still you cannot really do what you want to do?

what if you are bombarded with chemitrail right in your neighbourhood 2 times a day and every friggin day?

what if the whole damn concept of GOD is against you in the name of DEVIL.

what if you one day wake up from your sleep just to find out that everything that is happening around you is not real only to pull down and sacrifice yourself.

Now, there are soo many things that I could go on just imagine every damn song every damn thing on television everything even when you friggin watch movie in a theater you are bombarded with psychic attack and if you feel sick in your stomach one of the character will go like i feel like my stomach is going to blast?? I mean seriously this is my case and I ask anyone outthere who ever it is wether you live on this plane or you don't ask yourself what would you do and do help me out with some tips what would you do even tho! am still surviving and doing my best which i still think lack its proper meaning of the best and am trying hard and I know I will make it.

Re: I am Legend

Will Smith should be proud of Lyra's review. In a previous aya journey I had a vision that was eerily similar to that bathtub scene where Will was huddled up with the dog awaiting the evil to pass in the night.
By the way Lyra, I paid you tribute a few months back. Scroll down to What is the Phoenix? http://forum.noblerealms.org/viewtopic. … 22&p=2
