Topic: Meeting Like-Minded Individuals... Away From The Computer

I can't help but start a topic addressing my need for physical networking with those who are on my level of understanding.  Because of my relative youth, I am 19, I have not been able to come across many people that share my interests, or any for that matter.  My only compadre in the physical lives 2 hours away and besides talking online we don't get to meet up nearly enough.  All of my "friends" are interested in either partying or Guitar Hero 3; or both at the same time.  Most of my friends from high school are involved in the parallel reality that is college, they have more important things to think about, such as the opportunity to get a decent job in 4 years, it's definately not a guarantee... I realized that by that time, things maybe very different and a framed piece of paper wouldn't really help much.

I have tried to tell my family and friends about things happening in the world behind-the-scenes, such as dangerous food additives, and the negative effects of excessive television viewing to name a couple.  The results being my friends thinking that I'm crazy, and getting my parents to eat organic for a week or two then give up.  When I told my mother that the economy is unstable and we should stock up on a few necessities, she told me to not worry about it, and relating a looming economic collapse to "What if you get hit by a bus tomarrow?"  (Living near Canada, it had been unbelievable watching the Canadian dollar overcome the U.S. dollar firsthand.  I remember when $1.54 Canadian was equivalent to the U.S. dollar.)  My mother just pretends that the world is all sunshine and rainbows and Desperate Housewives, while on the other hand, my father says "It's been like this since the beginning of time," and that "When I was in school we had to duck and cover under our desks and look I'm still alive."  Basically flawed arguments based on "Ignorance is Bliss." 

The only other spiritual-minded people I have met have been through Reiki.  Besides LipstickMystic's topics on this forum I haven't heard of or experienced any negativity with Reiki, but thats just my experience with it.  I also went to a small gem show that was nearby and talked to a few people there, but that really isn't a venue for creating long-term relationships.  Well, I guess it could be if it was meant to happen. 

Basically, I was just interested to hear ideas and experiences from the collective pool of knowlegde that is Noble Realms.  How have you guys met up with/found other "Lightworker" types?  And also how have you guys been able to break the programming of those close to you?

By the way, I have checked out Hollistic Local, but unfortunately there isn't really anyone of my age or locality listed on there, at least of which I have seen.

Well, I've actually met up with an NR member, with hopefully many more to come. Nothing beats sharing knowledge with cool people, and it's always a blast when you're speaking in a public setting about "fringe" topics...you can tell people are listening, and who knows? Maybe they truly llistened to what we were saying and a spark of curiosity was ignited within them.
I've also have learned to allow people to come to their own awareness on their own schedule...my friend, who's one of those typical "partier" guys (I am too to some degree...I think it's essential to have fun and hang loose), began talking with me about 2012. He apparently went on a 3-day research binge!
And I never mentioned 2012 to him at all...but I took his new found curiosity as a chance to refine my own understanding by helping him do the same. I suggested he read the Cassiopaens and Ra if he was interested in reading "something different from what most websites are covering. Combined with montalk, Terrence McKenna and David Wilcock, their works have formed a basis in which to verify my own experiences both "here" and in dreams.

You're not going to be able to "break the programming" of those closest to you, and that's the mistake that a lot of newbies make.  They learn some things, then believe they can force those ideas onto everybody else around them and miraculously undo everybody else's lifetime of programming, just because they themselves are in the process of becoming more aware.  All you can do is plant seeds.  People have to make the choice to become awakened themselves.  By planting seeds, you offer up an opposing viewpoint when faced with the pod's way of life - Junky chemical-laden food, ("No thanks, I prefer to eat healthy" followed by a brief explanation of the issues with the food they're eating, and where you get your better alternatives at.  Then leave it at that.  If they're interested, they'll persue it.  If not, thent that's their choice.)  Mindless TV watching, ("No, I didn't catch that program...because I don't own a TV."  End of story.  No explanation needed, and if they try to make you feel like a fool for being so "different", which often times happens, then too bad.  It's their issue, not yours.)  Preoccupation with things that don't matter, like "Desperate Housewives", sports, shopping and materialism, etc. ("Sorry, guess I'm out of the loop with that....I was busy reading _____ book, or ________ article or _____________ website (about whatever interesting cool metaphysical/conspiracy subject).   Then leave it at that.  If their interest is piqued and they'd like to find out more information, they'll ask.  If they prefer to talk about football and where to get the best plasma TV, then so be it.  That's their choice.)  But you at least planted a seed.  You showed another option. And that's really all anybody can do.

(And on a side note, it needs to be mentioned that with a lot of people it seems, they will be literally incapable of ever getting to the level you're at.  And there are a few theories as to why that might be, but, I won't side track onto it here.  Just know - not everybody here is playing with the same spiritual toolbox.  We're not all on the same level, and for some, they're not going to be able to achieve what you may have achieved.  At least, not in this life.  It may not be their "destiny," if you will.  And if there really are hive mind group souls, then no, those souls are not going to be able to break free instantly.  It will be impossible, and for them, they're here to just live and die and be that background character drone that fills in the spaces in between.)   

But you can't forcibly "break people's programming."  It doesn't work that way. (although I'm sure it would be nice if we could, being that the system forcibly programmed us to begin with, with school and the media and all the rest.  hmm  Reminds me of the myth of Harriet Tubman showing up in slave's quarters in the middle of the night, pointing a rifle at their head.  Either go with her and be free, or die right here, right now.  That was their choice.  Because leaving them behind to continue being a slave wasn't an option.  She couldn't abide by it.  So, which one will it be?)  A bit of a freewill violation I suppose, but admirable nonetheless. wink

Anyway, just wanted to address that one point you made, since you asked.  As far as how to go about meeting like-minded people - and whether one should continue to keep hanging around with the asleep pods in the meantime wink - I'll leave that to others.

ReEvol_ve, I think this is something a lot of seeker's and waking people are facing.  "Where are the rest?"  Considering that probably only about 10% (being generous here) of the people out there are resonant with the notion of developing their spirituality and awareness of the world around them, for some it seems almost impossible to find them. 

Personally, I've been fairly "lucky" in this department throughout my life and so I feel quite blessed.  My close group of friends, while not on the SAME level (not really possible in the realms of separation), are all pretty damn close and I've known them for years.  But, recently I've met up with a new group of friends that are a few years younger (approx. 19-21, I'm 24) that are, it seems, even more resonant with the ideas I present than my core group of longtime friends.  I've always been something of a teacher to those around me and have tended to magnetically attract those people who would benefit from the ideas I discuss, and who could teach me at the same time.  I think this has more to do with my specific incarnative mission than luck, but at the same time I have set intentions for this to happen.  By choosing to be of service to others in the best way I can, I've been able to create positive associations that benefit both parties.  Of course, this works both ways and to deny the other friends' role in bringing me into their life would be less than accurate.

All that being said,  I know there are a lot of lonely seekers out there, but it seems that this is an almost ideal TEMPORARY setup for them to awaken.  Isolation is a good catalyst for introspection and introspection is a great catalyst for developing your personal understanding of truth.  It may be that in your case you are experiencing this lack of resonant friendships to satisfy a particular lesson that you have set out to learn prior to incarnating.  Perhaps it is to develop and establish the strength of your own seeking before finding others to share that with. 

When I first started really waking up I also had the problem of dealing with others' intolerance to new ideas until I realized, as Lyra did well to explain, that there is no need to impress my truth upon others and I also realized that it was actually detrimental to my own development because of the inhernet lack of respect for free-will in the agenda forcing mindset/action.  Instead, I've intended to attract or be lead to those who I share a strong resonance with and haven't been let down yet. 

Something tells me that this isolation that is so prevalent among seekers is starting to fade away due to the networking necessities of the shift to 4th density STO.  The time leading up to now has been great for fostering the seeking of truth in many, but now is the time where that truth is put into practice in a more wholistic way.  My advice, take it as you will, would be to intend that your reality be remolded to one where you have the opportunities to establish meaningful relationships with other resonant souls, at the same time requesting from your Higher Self (or whatever guidance system you like) the strength and patience necessary for this to happen. 

Try to remember that the associations you have at present, no matter how mundane, are fulfilling a purpose as well, in providing you catalyst against which to test your truth.  Perhaps when this particular testing is nearing completion you will experience a flood of new and positive relationships.

Yes thats all you can do, if you go in too heavy handed you just turn them of .
A good example was at work today we had a team meeting with the main Office Boss and the subject came on excessive sick leave.

Some otherwise nice but brainwashed colleague said why don't they offer us free Flu jabs to help reduce sick leave like a lot of private companies do?
I replied that it seems the Flu jab as its based on last years flu strains does not appear to work any better than a placebo and so you may be risking all that mercury and toxins for nothing which went down quite well.

Its not like we are fractions of the whole but rather versions of the whole.

I can relate with many of the thoughts shared in this discussion, the thing I dislike probably the most about physical reality is that over time, the people we used to be close with drift away and we all become different people and have different interests. It's beautiful in a way, because that is proof that we are growing. However, the feeling of being connected to people you can trust is a priceless asset that everyone should value.

Having even just one friend or mentor that you can put your complete trust in is a wealth beyond any physical means attainable, something one would never be able to purchase, and if you have that sort of wealth, hang on to it, and never let it go.

I am privileged to have a few souls like this in my life (and through out life), and their friendship has always meant a lot in my journey in life (even if we have parted ways because of opposing energy/ideas/soul frequencies), it is through these friendships, that we can understand ourselves better, share more and help achieve our true purpose in life. Rather than gossip, banter, whine, complain like the most friendships I witness are based on.

True friendship, in my opinion, is sharing ideas, making our own distinctions, helping each other grow spiritually, mentally, physically.

You have to be there for each other when the meat hits the metal.

My family and friends are open to NR-esque type ideas. My best friend's Mum believes in chemtrails. My best friend likes (but doesn't quite believe) the idea of aliens who ran/still run the show for humanity. My Dad enjoys conspiracy shows and is interested in Atlantis. But I can't say they are big believers or real hardcore types. I guess my discussion about this sorta stuff would run dry up to a point, I could only talk about this sort of stuff up to a certain degree before they weird out. But it's better than 'sunshine and flowers' 'ignorance is bliss' as ReEvol_ve pointed out. As Lyra said, there's seeds in these people I know and in some of them... little sprouts.

My sister is probably the only one I know who doesn't believe this stuff at all, but it's funny cause we are real close. Even if she thinks my beliefs are bizarre and weird, and I'm perhaps a bit odd myself... we really do care about each other lots. Sometimes I show her the miraculous stuff than can occur in life and it just doesn't... click. A miracle right in front of her and she can't see it, it frustrates and disappoints me. But what can I do? Maybe oneday a miracle will occur and she will see. Or perhaps she does see miracles but not in the way I do.

There is a certain elegance of being when one can be perfectly, peacefully, alone in a crowd.  Second to that would be to feel home in being alone. I'll bet you(Revol_ve) have a good grip on that, from where you seem to be.  Never forget the value of friendship with yourself. The most dissociated people seem to be alienated from themselves.
