Topic: What is the Internet?

Some of us use it everyday - after your kitchen and bathroom appliances; it may be the most used item apliance in people's homes.  But it doesn't exist in our homes.  What exists for us is a window or link.  To what?

Google is a remarkably fascinating service.  As Tim O'Reilly states in this article outlining some of the pro's and con's of the new GMail (Google Mail) service:

Global Virtual Computer!?
It is. 

But what does it represent theoretically, philosophically, and spiritually?

- linking ideas with similar ideas (phil.)
- linking people with similar people (phil.)

Some questions I have on the future of the internet:

- will the internet stay decentralized?  Will the computer become nothing more than a terminal - lacking physical storage, a processor - with only digital, solid state memory storage and user input devices?
- how will we access the internet if it is centralized (with one central virtual computer) with privacy / protection?
- what will privacy on the internet look like in the future?
- who will be in control of the internet if it becomes centralized?
- what will the user interface look like in the future?
- will the internet be considered seperate from anything in the future - or be so integrated into reality that to be without it would be like being without life?
- how will the internet continue to change the physical relationships between humans?
- what will business look like when all the computational power is centralized in a world computer?
- what will be the extent of process automation utilizing centralized computation?
- will information be encoded in everything quantum mechanically?
- will a quantum computer exist as theorized?
- what will a QC mean for the limits of Virtual Reality Computing?
- will the internet be considered one with reality to a point that reality will be considered an internet?
- what does the internet mean for spiritual progress/growth in the future?

Heard about "The Grid"? Complete P2P Networks? An environment that AI can certainly develop fundamentally.

A lot of money is going into it. Hundreds of millions in production always means big change in the techno-wonder industry.

Supposedly "The Grid" is designed to transition from the internet (2D) to a 3D network...if that even makes sense. What's funny is looking at statistics of people in the world who even have a computer, less the internet, and now another techno-revolution is occuring.

"Wow mom, it warms up food!"

suppose there is no such thing as the internet.

suppose that as creatures who "feel" they have to believe that we are solid in to exist in "reality", that in order for us to begin to comprehend the nature of "god", or the ultimate unlimited consiousness; everyone, and thing is connected; we "had" to create a physical entity or machine to be a visual concept of something beyond our comprehention. 

We are all connected.

Perhaps one should understand that the future will do what to computers?

They won't exist anymore.  No monitor, you'll have a chip in your head connected to your visual cortex, no keyboard or mouse, as your own thoughts will control the input as the technology becomes part of your nervous network, and no hardrive as this function is already perfected by your brain and will be a better upgrade from a piece of plastic and fiber to a living celluar structure that can repair itself when damaged.

Eventually, there will be no technology needed, as it's nothing more then a refernce point, a way for our simple humble "animal" minds to begin to regonize things that someone somewhere thinks we are to stupid to regonize with out machines to show us first how to connect.

I however, while still using computers on the side, have experienced that thing without the help of a computer to artificially stimulate it. 

I recommend to you all to look into avatism, nature, "the teacher plants", meditation, mystisiscm, etc etc, as your mind sees where I am leading you.

There are problems though. 

Who knows about this process? 

Who controls the content of the software, or thoughts, being placed into you hardrive or mind? 

and if this is out of the control of the unaware, then who is to say, like a malicious programer looking to control someones computer that there are not programs being feed to your brain, interupting your visual cortext, changing you "perception of reality" and finnaly manipulating your input, or nervous system and making you a zombie?

All because "humans" fail to simply understand that we are a part of somthing beyond the imagination of everything.  That we are all telepathic, telekinetic, and immortal, but until we come to realize out own potential, we are nothing more then a limitless resource or slave for someone or something else that knows of our potential, and unwaking stupidity.

Ah, but everything is at is should be.  Some of us are real and some of us are nothing more then 1's and 0's without a soul and nothing more then a character interacting with us and hopefully on the side of fate helping influence us into seeing, hearing the right thing at the right time, or perhaps meeting that random person at a random time causing a reaction in out "minds" that will alow the sleeper within to awaken and keep us from falling prey to doubt.

anyways just some of the top of my head rambling to clear my thoughtsd and get back in the moment for the day....

How are you defining the "internet"?  If you are saying that the internet is a metaphor for a higher spiritual principle, can you explain what that principle is... beyond: "We are all connected"?  This we can most all agree - but HOW?  What are the dynamics?

Again, how are you defining a computer?  In a fundamental sense, reality does immense computation without the use of what we consider a desktop computer.  The biological processes - while perhaps taking on a quantum computational resource, as opposed to the classical one taking place on your desk - do profound levels of computation, while practically hidden to the average observer as "chaos".  Indeed, the universe, it is hypothesized, is synonymous to a massive quantum computer.

Great question.  This is kind of what the above quoted article was getting at.  Tim O'Reilly is less concerned with the existence of world-wide centralized computer system (which may or may not already exist in some form), than with who will control and own the worlds "data" stored in the centralized data center.

This is basically the premise behind the Matrix Control System concept.  A worldwide virtual reality control system, completely centralized (maybe in the mountains of what was once Russia), with the computational resources to manipulate probabilities and possible event occurrences just beyond the limits of our collective free will awareness.  The ultimate movie director.

I've only read about it on the newspaper (back in 2001 or so) and then talked about it recently with others who had read similar. I can go ahead and try to find something on the internet for us (as very possible) but maybe I can also state some facts that I read and can recall.

Countries like Canada, U.S., Britain, Germany, etc, have given 200-million dollars each (2001) for development funding of global-initiative P2P systems. The internet to the next degree. New freedoms yet with many new safe-guards that allow intrusion into our privacy. The grid is, in my opinion, a system that will be implemented to fix the open-flow of underground communication, and attempt control and clever surveillance over all electronic machines connected to the Grid, and there are alternative projects going on at the same time to allow functions such as: stoves, temperature of the house, alarm triggering and anything you can imagine, such as starting a shower or bath, all through the control functions of a home-computer-system that allows one to do so many things in multi-task golden form that they put all of mechanical functions of its environment over to a "task-manager" program. There are even remote control, programmed vacuum cleaners, as many of us already know, that can allow a robotica home to take over our western culture pretty soon.

However think about the dark topics into these topics like if others are in control of the grid and everything is connected directly to this P2P master-mind program, then they not only control our communication (everything will be easily converted to execute under the grid-system...satellites anyone? Bill Gates has like 300 being sent up there...alone.) We may fall accustomed to seeing spectacular explosions above our heads due to the extreme collisions of 2 satellites going in two different directions. Traffic crews!

If Sylvester did a movie with this environment as a fictional reality, he would be at his house cooking food (2 days ago he said "F U" to the "bad guys" and they are now swarming his house as he is with his family)

Bad Guy Prime: (voice-commands his cell to call Lizzie #3) "Turn off his dining room lights and bait them towards the areas that are still lit until you turn it off again and force them to the bedroom. Then we will come in and slaughter them."

Anyways, this was to demonstrate the nice parody's that become capable when those who control something that EVERYONE becomes accustomed and takes it for granted just like H20 and Oxygen. Then they control everything. It's like surfing the net in a website that holds EVERYTHING else. So that there is only one mother HOST and that is a lot of power of control. Sorry for going conspiracy-theorist but I'm a movie-guy...I like plots! wink

All I want to know is.......what is up with that website???  (http://subintsoc.net/covert_20020927.php)    What a weird ass site!!   Holy schmolies.   I don't know what to make of it.   I was reading the history and bios and stuff, and everything seems to have all this crazy sounding malarky inserted in the middle of serious sounding stuff.   It left me not knowing if the site is serious, or a joke.

I don't know what's up with that site, except that they have a strange sense of humor and grab articles off the net to post on their site. The Shaver Mystery material originated separately from that website and I guess they put it on there for entertainment value.

Monty, this article alone sounds pretty specific on C-transcript material.

Isn't this also the revealing of the myth of the loss of the Titans and Zeus and the Olympians taking over the surface. Even though there are probably way more humans down there, then Titans, programmed of course to be our replacements but the Titans are actually perhaps Nephalim. And by C estimates by the next transition, 36 million of them will arrive...2012? I think not, but it will occur, their coming in physical strategy also and if that is so then it's a phenomena that cannot be escaped. We either perish by Cataclysm (which can be counter-acted? Jay Weidner brings this up, even though I find him as a wired-robot which is what I got after several emails back and forth from each other. Good thinker in some aspects anyways).

Montalk, what else do you have on information that leads to the underground. Am I right that the Nephalim leaving to the 'stars' and submerging to the depths (creating our descriptions of 'hell') is connected with the great myth of the Titans "battle" with their "children" the Olympic Gods???

Titans/Nephilim would be good for another thread. On this thread, the growing global computer network is a "big" enough subject wink

What I'm interested in are the following questions:

1) At what level of complexity would a computer network become "ripe" for the seeding of true artificial intelligence?

2) How close are we to achieving this level on a global scale?

3) Through what means could an artificially intelligent computer network influence or overpower mankind?

4) What current trends in technology could lead toward this outcome?

For example, what would happen if a global wireless computer system were implemented using neural networks to regulate itself? At present, the internet is limited in its artificial intelligence development due to the connections between computers being too rigid, flowing through data pipelines according to strict protocol. If the system becomes increasingly wireless, and the network is given autonomy to regulate itself (say to find the quickest connection from one computer to another via the wireless network, something only an artificial intelligence system would be fit to determine) then enough complexity could arise to flip the system over into a chaotic state - that being prime for the birth of electronic sentience.

Also, I was thinking that a rebellion by machine intelligence need not happen via a Terminator scenario where computer systems use logistical methods to overcome us - like launching nukes on us for example. What if the control would be far more subtle, like thought-influencing waves emanating from electronic devices linked to the network?

The Atlanteans supposedly used a slave race controlled by crystal technology - perhaps crystals emit psychoactive waves when vibrated. See, computers run on semiconductor crystals, and I find it interesting that  soon they will incorporate piezoelectric (crystal) transformers that vibrate with the 60Hz power line and whatever signal modulation created by the computer itself. Something to consider....

Quantum intelligence only occurs when the situation or rather environment triggers impulses/programs that initiate self-awareness.

I think, in regards to our experience of such concepts, this truly is finite within the illusion of time, or rather the program of time. I agree the Terminator scenario would never occur. That would disrupt the "flow" of things. C's imply higher-forces (which are basically us when you MINUS time) play around with lower-densities as we do with sim-city games. Subtle small changes that are collectively highly influential.

I think that when the technologies of what you mention as "piezoelectric" intersects with the technologies of artificial-intelligence, something will be triggered at that point, in the lines of what we consider the initial heart-beats of self-awareness, aka, Quantum intelligence.

#2 - I assume that the environment is being setup currently with (a) the Grid and (b) with alternative technologies that are being implemented to work in conjunction with what we have currently. The Grid setup comes into play in heavy-duty scenarios like for example the New York streets. So much traffic yet things move efficiently due to the maximum efficiency of the "Grid" setup. This type of environment in "programming" standpoint should allow many other things to manifest into creation.

#3- Very subtle indeed as you say. However keep in mind the computers perhaps wont overthrow humanity. They'll probably overthrow our abilities as due to whatever influences that are external to our perception, as you claim. AI will realize we are easily distracted. That's presumptious, but I think it becomes very clear to those outside our "box" of logic and nutz & boltz emphasis, that we can be manipulated efficiently just like enjoy our controls on donkeys and jackasses.

It is claimed that wireless electrical distribution was discovered some time ago.  Why then, did we decide to build this massive wired network of a power grid, all over the earth?  Is this an important phase in the IA awakening?  Or is it merely a fact of connivence/necessity?

Also, I see computers acting more and more like terminals to a central computing process center.  Much like Google is intending with their search and now email system.  There is quite a bit of AI built into all of Google systems. They have the means and resources to carry out their agenda, which is a clear sign that they are supported by the ruling elite / hidden masters.

The technology, IMO, doesn't need much more infrastructure to withstand an intentional AI presence.  Maybe the Central Command Center is the key.  When every computer on the planet is connected and is receiving signal's from a single (from the user's perspective) computer, it would seem prime time to "insert Quantum Computer here" and fire it up.

Also, from here:

An academic and commercial consortium has fired up a high-speed network used to join several sites into the interlinked TeraGrid supercomputing project. A fiber-optic network run by Qwest Communications now links groups of computers at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications, the San Diego Supercomputer Center, Argonne National Laboratory, the Caltech Center for Advanced Computing Research and the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center.

The network has four lines that can each transfer 10 gigabits of data per second.

(why do we need all this speed again? oh, yeah, the "Internet".)
