It is said that Jesus said somewhere "lay down your life". I want to know what he did. If he preaches this, he must have done it himself. So, what did he do ?
Some people say he was married (to maria magdalena) and they had a daughter together. Is this in the same story ?
I'm confused. Do you mean "Whoever will save his life shall lose it; whoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it" ?
About the easiest way I can put it is, most people of the time and probably still today live selfishly - for themselves. In the reference above he is talking to someone that wants to follow him BUT has something else they need to do first. He is saying that to follow me you need to "lay down your life" lay down the right and desire to do whatever feels good to you(lower 3D actions/desires) being STS oriented and seek higher motives growing in the STO/A direction.

To lay down your life for Jesus means to believe that he is the only begotten son of God. Thruout the 2000 years of christianity many christians have been persecuted and martyred for following Jesus and his teachings. Many of the christians have been killed for his name. The christians that were martyred had a choice to accept the rule of the antichrist which automatically meant denying Jesus Christ or to accept Jesus Christ and be killed, which meant 'laying down' their lives for him.
Picking up the cross means spreading the gospel of the Kingdom of God which is at hand, exposing the lies and corruption and clinging onto and speaking TRUTH and only TRUTH. From a christian point of view, when you believe in Jesus Christ and lay down your life for his name's sake, you will receive everlasting life in the Kingdom of God.

It sounds likes this, yes. But, i 'd like to know what HE did. Because if he went trough 'it', he found something, so he wants others to find it also. So, what did HE do to 'lay down his life' ?
In that quote, I think he was talking about giving up the ego/worldly identity in order to find one's true, spiritual identity. He also told people to leave behind their families & possessions to follow him, which is the same kind of thing - it's the choice between leading a "normal" life, or renouncing convention to fulfil one's spiritual potential.
He also "laid down his life" on the cross - the ultimate act of surrender.
I know a lot of people on here think Jesus didn't exist or Christianity is all BS or whatever. Personally I don't, and these are just my interpretations of Bible quotes/stories.

How do you explaing Horus and Krishna having the nearly exact same attributes as Jesus? NOt only Horus and Krishna but others as well. If you really think the bible is literal then I feel sorry for ya, just being honest. If you think the "cross" means literal wood then I feel you should study a bit more. The most important message that Jesus taught is the spiritual freedom that is at hand. He went to the cross willingly because he knew what awaited him on the other side. No more pain and tears and an everlasting life. He layed down his life to take it again.
People who are living carnally are affraid of physical death. Christians are persecuted because satan thru fear tactics wants to separate them again from God. Many christians (around 70 million) who were martyred over the 2000 years , have conquered physical death by being faithful to Jesus and God. They died once physically by rejecting the antichrist but received eternal life in the Kingdom of God.
Another wave is comming, and this time it's going to be a worldwide event, that will separate believers from non-believers. A one world government with a one world religion is around the corner: NWO (new world order), which is supposed to bring peace to earth. The truth is that the chaos (biblical great tribulation) which is also around the corner will weaken the western nations in order to offer peace in return for the worship of the antichrist. Those who will accept the antichrist and the mark of the beast and at the same time reject Jesus Christ will have temporary peace on earth but will be denied the entrance to the Kingdom of God permanently.
The true times of trial for God's children are very close in realisation and those who overcome the fear of death by strengthening their faith in Jesus Christ will be granted entrance into the Kingdom of God. The persecusion of christians has happened before all the way thru the dark ages right until today where christians die everyday for their faith in Jesus Christ.
America is on the brink of creating a North American Union, Bush is ready to strike Iran, Ahmadinejad (Iranian president) is probably almost ready to use nuclear weapons in the middle east and part of southern Europe, long range missiles, dirty bombs, sleeper cells, and false flag operations in America and other countries. World war three is unfolding as we speak, the new age religions are the most clever deception from the dark forces since the beginning of christianity.
Are you aware of the deception that the antichrist is setting up on earth to make you fail in reuniting with Jesus Christ in the Kingdom of God?
Are you buying the one world peace deception, while unmistakenly this world is racing toward the end?
Will you accept the antichrist blindly, or will you reject him and run to the hills and the wilderness to spend your final hours of life peacefully awaiting Jesus Christ's return to gather his children?
Are you aware that the peace solutions on earth are nothing but a deception to organize a NWO and the kingdom of the antichrist here on earth?
Christianity is as real as it can get and most likely this generation will witness horrific times of what I've described above. The martial law is the first step on American soil that will tighten the screw around christian beliefs as well as some others like non-believers who will be required to worship the antichrist but will rebel against it. Look at the facts in the headliness, research 9/11 truth as it is the best example of a false flag operation of the government on it's own soil.

Could that have been any more patronising? I don't take everything the Bible says literally, so there's really no need to feel sorry for me, thank you.
I could give a thousand links right now and give a very nice and thoughtful talk on the subject, but it will fall on def ears if you are so ardent in your beliefs that jesus was a living real man who did this and did that. If I posted every expose of Jordan Maxwell you wouldnt watch them, and if you did you wouldn't "listen". I could name off many many books on the subject. Would you read them? no. Of course not. There is this one guy whos work I am studying but there is one problem, he feels that if I dont surrender to jesus I will burn in hell forever. Too bad, and it's quite sad. I love his legal work, very interesting stuff. But it just goes to show how BELIEFS can completely f*ck up an individual.

Doctrines derived from the Proto Orthodox camp were based on the most literal interpretation possible. Irenaeus said heretics have many interpretations but the orthodox only has one - the interpretation that is the "most obvious".
So orthodoxy is basically the triumph of literalism which is a precursor to modern day fundy-ism. But today many Christians reject literalism because it leads to massive internal and extra-biblical contradictions. Since literalism led to orthodoxy, orthodoxy itself is rejected by enlightened Christians.

You place christians under one label and that is your mistake. It's true that in America mainly, the christian mainstream (Protestants) are following the teachings of pastors, who by the way are mostly a part of the NWO agenda, but you wouldn't be able to spot an average christian in real life generally. It's a sad fact but the doctrine taught by church pastors is far from the truth being discovered on an individual basis as a progress of applying Jesus' teachings in ones life. Many pastors in churches teach the pre trib rapture doctrine which when discussed with non believers would make a christian look 'loony' as you would say or the scare tactics of bringing non-believers to Christ by preaching fire and brimstone is another one that makes a christian look 'cooky' 
The fact is that an average christian that hasn't lost a sence of functionality in the world but still keeps Jesus' teachings close to their heart will most likely be the person that will hold the door open for you, give you a random smile in the crowd, stop on the highway to help you change a tire or get out of their way to help a person in need, be a participant at a volunteer job, etc.
I encourage you to be take care when labeling people in a certain context before you actually get to meet them personally and judge for yourself instead of what the mainstream thinks in general.

Hm, that's a little skewed. Plenty of non-Christians do the same. So I wouldn't say that it's a Christian who would "most likely" be the one doing that.

Taking the biblical accounts literally has nothing to do with fundy-ism. Fundy-ism ended in establishing earthly institutions such as you mentioned all under one label of 'institutionalised churches'. An average christian will not preach the gospel out of context, but when approached with questions in regards to Jesus Christ will be ready to answer them from a biblical and mostly literal point of view. Many prophecies in the bible are symbolic in a sence that once the symbolism is understood it becomes literal.
