A General Consensus Among Major Prophesies
The Hopi prophecies are similar to others pertaining to the present time. Some of the most famous are the predictions made by Edgar Cayce, the "sleeping prophet." Cayce predicted massive changes in the weather followed by earthquakes and a calamitous "pole shift" around the time of the millennium. It would be accompanied or followed by a war in the Middle East. Yet the earth changes have clearly not happened, which has caused many to become skeptical of all prophesy.
At the same time, there are other, independent sources of prophesy which envision a remarkably similar scenario. The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints, or the Mormons, place great importance on prophecy, and one of the highest officials in the church as the formal title "Prophet." It is his responsibility to make and evaluate predictions and to advise the church hierarchy. (Skousen, 1939) There are also very interesting predictions in Dolores Cannon's Nostradamus series, [ http://forum.noblerealms.org/viewtopic.php?id=2719 ] as well as the writings of Dannion Brinkley and those of Mary Summer Rain. These predictions were all made more than fifteen years ago. [NOTE by lyra - in the case of No-Eyes they were made 25 years ago as of now, 2007.] I have been able to meet and interview these latter three writers, and believe they all operate with integrity and high spiritual intent.
Each of these prophecies predicts the following series of events pertaining to the present and near future time period:
1. Increasingly severe and extreme weather events: droughts, floods, tornadoes, unusual high winds
2. A world-wide economic collapse. In the US: deflation, stock market collapse and high unemployment
3. Religious conflict within the US: The rise of Christian fundamentalism and closer involvement between church and government
4. Major war focused on the Middle East, which will be called World War III (Desert Storm and the recent Iraq war are viewed as only preludes to a world-wide conflict)
5. Major and severe earth changes: Earthquakes, tidal waves, culminating eventually in a pole shift and changes in the land contours of the U.S. and Europe.
Prophesies of "No-Eyes" and Mary Summer Rain
Because of the five main predictions above are consistent among these prophesies, I will focus on the prophesies of the Native American medicine woman named "No-Eyes," all made before 1983. These are recounted in a series of books written by Mary Summer Rain. (Summer Rain, 1985, 1987) Several prophetic visions of future events were described, predicted to begin around the millenium:
- A general worsening of economic conditions in the United States, caused by the export of manufacturing jobs to third world countries, combined with jobs lost to automation. This would cause an economic decline in the United States, and a weakening of the stock market and financial markets.
- This would be accompanied by massive corporate or "white collar" crime and corruption. No-Eyes predicted that formerly respectable executives at big corporations would use their position to rob the treasuries of those companies, and this would shatter the faith investors had in corporations.
- A final trigger to a global financial collapse would be the disappearance of international free trade. She predicted a trade war would erupt between countries, and international free trade agreements would break down. A deflationary spiral would result, leading to a collapse in commodity prices and the destruction of the banking system.
- These economic changes would be accompanied by massive changes in climate. The seasons would be "all mixed up," with large temperature fluctuations from day to day. This would be accompanied by increasingly fierce storms. Tornadoes would appear where they had never been seen before. Drought would be widespread, and would be alleviated only by flash flooding, as the weather behaved erratically and went through wild fluctuations.
- The droughts would cause sink-holes to be a spreading problem, swallowing up homes without warning. This would also be a time of rising disease, including biologically engineered diseases, which would kill many.
- Increasingly, religious organizations would become involved in politics, and the politicians would make more laws about religion. The constitutional guarantees of separation of church and state would begin to disappear, and this would lead to protests.
- The United States would increasingly become involved in military operations and wars overseas. We would become involved in many wars in "little countries" and this would bring back the draft. T he expense of conducting military operations in so many countries would break the national budget, further damage the economy and lead to burdensome increases in taxes.
- The earth itself would go through extreme changes, with large earthquakes leading to a shift in the earth's poles causing massive tidal waves and destruction. This would be forewarned by several days of "green sky" which suggests auroras and atmospheric electrical activity, perhaps indicating solar activity as the trigger. The shape of the land masses would be different after the resulting massive earth changes.
- There are many predictions she made pertaining to the time following this. A catastrophic war in the Middle East, nuclear weapons detonated by men with "brown skin," and eventual political upheaval int eh United States were among her predictions. A long term change in the weather was predicted, leading to a time of dramatically reduced rainfall. A time was predicted in which global average rainfall would shrink to near zero.
The Dolores Cannon/Nostradamus prophesies are consistent with this scenario. They add more detail about a
world-wide Arab conspiracy and a Pan-Muslim alliance leading to a major world war. They speak of covert involvement by the Chinese starting in the early 1990s, which has been confirmed to some extent.
[....] About twelve years after the publication of Cannon's three volumes on Nostradamus, I reviewed the predictions which were to have already occurred. I identified about a dozen such predictions. The rest may or may not come to pass in the future, but these twelve predictions quoted specific times which enabled me to evaluate them. I found that about half had come to pass and half had not. So from what I have seen so far, they are about 50% accurate, very roughly. Given the specific detailed nature of the predictions, I believe this is far higher than would be expected from chance of coincidence. At the same time, they are far from infallible.
What I found fascinating was that, even when a prediction failed, it seemed to describe qualitatively certain trends which have been occurring. The rise of a pan-Muslim confederation, initially established in secret, seems to be one of the biggest successes of this prophecy. The predictions of Chinese involvement, and the description of a "cabal" in America which also favored and promoted this war, seem to be successes based on what we have seen so far. I also noticed that the exact timing of the events was often in error and seemed to be the most likely aspect to go wrong.
This minor exercise in prophecy evaluation led me to the following two conclusions:
1. Prophecy often seems to capture the large scale or general trend of a time period even if it misses on the
specific event
2. Time and time ordering seem to be the most likely parts to be in error.
Evaluation of No-Eyes' Predictions
Most of Mary Summer Rain's conversations with "No-Eyes" occurred in 1982, when she received her predictions. Since that time, we have seen the weather go crazy. Number of Killer Storms & Droughts Increasing Worldwide is the headline of a report from the World Water Forum in Japan. (Cosgrove, 2003) The number of world-wide flood disasters has been increasing rapidly, from an average of 6 per decade in the 1950s to 26 per decade in the 1990s. (see Figure 12.7).
Other natural disasters, such as droughts and tropical storms, have also been increasing worldwide during the same period (Figure 12.8). The number of tornadoes per year in the United States has undergone a steady increase as well, as shown in Figure 12.9.
[...] Young people today do not realize that our erratic weather is very different from the weather of 1982. The last decade has seen six of the hottest years in history.
[...] No-Eyes predicted that eventually these weather changes would lead to a time of no rain. I thought this was a remarkable and strange prediction. Then I began to investigate the weather prediction models to understand what causes rain. I discovered that we get rain because of the delicate balance between the moisture content of the atmosphere, its temperature, and the wind speed. This leads to what are called "fair weather" clouds in the summertime, also known as cumulus clouds. They are caused by updrafts and down drafts in the lower atmosphere. Meteorologists call them "convection cells": warm air rises carrying moisture. As it rises it cools and becomes heavier. The moisture cools and forms droplets which fall as rain. And the cycle continues.
I discovered that, if there is not sufficient moisture in the atmosphere, or if the winds become too high, then these convection cells cannot form and rain does not fall. I realized that this is exactly what could happen as the weather patterns shift due to global warming. It is the very likely "end state" of a new global weather pattern if something is not done to stop it. It is not a well-known or widely publicized prediction, but it is now a likely prediction from some of the long-range weather models.
The droughts we have been experiencing (Figure 12.8) may only be a prelude. Somehow, the blind medicine woman knew this in 1982, before any scientist had ever uttered the words "global warming." This is one more prediction of hers which appears to be coming true.
[...]The earth changes predicted by No-Eyes have thankfully not yet occurred. However, she predicted that they would be preceded by several days of unusual "green sky," which indicates auroral activity and resulting atmospheric electricity. In the latter part of 2003 we saw the largest solar flare ever recorded, as the earth experienced an unprecedented series of "direct hits" of massive energy from the sun. [NOTE from lyra: Tom had a dream back in 2002 when we were in Florida which he said was fine to mention here, in fact he talks about this in his "Research Notes" section of his website. But in the dream he went outside on the beach in Florida and there were green and red auroras in the sky. Then he went inside a bar on the beach and on the TVs in the bar they were showing a mass UFO invasion taking place along with alien propaganda material. Then by the end of the dream he saw volcanoes exploding and the ground breaking up with lava. Sounds very similar!]
During this period, the number of strong earthquakes (magnitude greater than 6.0) tripled for several weeks, perhaps warning us of greater earth changes to come. The similarity between the recent spectacular auroras and No-Eyes warnings of "Green sky" is uncanny, but thankfully the predicted massive earth changes have not occurred.
