Topic: Resident Evil and Resident Evil Apocalypse

What we're dealing with here is movies about zombies based on a video game.  I think that's kind of funny and absurd all by itself.  But there's so much more. . .

I'm just going to mention some of  the topics addressed by these movies.    Here goes:
- A massive corporation which is engaged in nefarious activity
- A massive corporation with its own security force/private army
- Genetic manipulation in secret labs underground (literally)
- experimentation with the intent to make deadly viruses and bioweapons
- a virus that reanimates dead people and dead animals
- mind control technology
- manipulation of memories ("My name is Alice, and I remember everything.")
- super-human strength, speed, and agility
- nuking a small city on purpose and covering it up as a "nuclear accident"
- clearly showing how the media can massively distort the truth
- women kicking ass
- artificial intelligence out of control
- ability to monitor consciousness and "see through someone else's eyes" without them knowing
- cyborgs (human/computer hybrids)
- ability to kill people at a distance with mental powers
- ability to interface mentally with computers at a distance
- chaos on a city-wide basis and people trying to escape but being locked in
- martial law

It's quite a list for movies based on a video game.  Did I mention women kicking ass? :-)

I think that the sequel was a more mature treatment and certainly had a bigger budget.  Are these movies for you?  Decide for yourself!!
