Topic: The Vampire Plague, a la my disturbing dream

I had this very disturbing dream last night. It's been eating at me and I was wondering if any of you NRs could help out here? I'd appreciated any help, and be warned this dream is a bit of a long read:

I just had last night. I was with four friends and we had left the city to hike around the forests. At one point it was getting evening and we needed a place to stay, so we found these strange secluded cabins in the wood. I looked at them and they felt wrong and sinister but we approached them anyway for accomodation. We were told by someone not to enter the forests or else. We went to sleep and like a dream within a dream, I saw this fat business man also staying at the cabins and he left his cabins to enter the forest! I stopped at the edge of the forest, there was like another presence with me. The fat man left the forests looking surprisingly unruffled and then suddenly the presence spoke like a voiceover:

"And now you shall see the fruits of wandering in the forest. Mr H.N. Sr came back and saw demonic entities approaching him. He panics and calls out the name of Jesus Christ to expose and stop them but it doesn't work."

The demonic entities wear dark red velvet cloaks and hoods. They have yellow gloves on their hands. One of them reaches the fat man and he screams and falls. Whatever the entity is doing, a strange misty light surrounds the pair of them. The man stops screaming. The entities leave and he lies pale and presumably dead on the ground.

Then I am alone and awake again, I rush back to our cabin and tell my friends of what has happened. We all agree to leave immediately, we pack quickly and quietly not wishing to attract THEIR attention and rush out of the cabin park. Unfortunately, two of my friends get caught. The other friend and I rush onwards. We decide to split up and not see each other again in case it makes it easier for them to track us. Many years pass, my friend has become a TV new anchor and the entities have finally found her.

It has been revealed that the demonic entities I saw were no demonc entities but strange and bad human folk who had developed the 'vampire plague'. Bascially the fat man was their first victim. The Vampire Plague gives the infected one vampiric traits; long life, superhuman speed, strength and senses. It sounds all good, but for me I feel that there is something very wrong with it and I am on the run again to remain a normal and untouched human. I finally meet an old friend who has been touched, she asks me why I resist but I do not answer. I run away and have many close encounters with vamps who wish to convert me, but I always escape. Eventually, I get sick of running and decide to commit suicide to free myself and die as an untouched human. I climb up a hill to the cliffside. My old teacher who is also untouched asks me what am I doing, I ignore him and keep going. I reach the top and grow afraid, I do not wish to die but I do not want to keep running forever.

Then the vamps catch me, the pull at me from all directions but I jump free from them and then the scene freezes. The dream ends at that point.

I thank anyone who can provide any pointers on this sort of dream, it's been giving me funny vibes all day long.

Re: The Vampire Plague, a la my disturbing dream

I am not very practiced at dream analysis, and I would say that no one can analyze their dreams better then themselves as the dream is a metaphorical representation of some conflict/resolution in your own life.  My interpretation would be that you are perceiving the parasitic nature of the people living around you.  It seems that everyone is giving in to the "Self Centered" way of life, and they are trying to convince you to do this as well.  The end of the dream seems to communicate two things, one that  you would perhaps rather die then become a parasite like them, and two that you are becoming very frustrated with dealing with the parasitic or self centered nature of others and you are looking for a way to get out.  That is the best I can do on that.

Re: The Vampire Plague, a la my disturbing dream

Thanks, that made a lot of sense actually. In my life I am surrounded by people who would rather booze up than anything, they live aimlessly and I feel if I hang around them I will get dragged down too. They say you're the average of the five people you hang out with the most. So I guess you can say my dream reflects that conflict that I have with myself and my boozy buddies. I've beend doing a lot of thinking about them. Thankyou! smile

Hmmm. I have'nt quite got to the bottom of my own vaguely comparable dream but could'nt help noticing some reasonable similarities. Especially your decision at the end!

I had zombies instead of vampires....

Re: The Vampire Plague, a la my disturbing dream

Here's a weird one just had a vampire dream myself last night. I was with another woman and we were trying to find out where they were sleeping and stake them through the heart.

Re: The Vampire Plague, a la my disturbing dream

Your dream may very well reflect the parasitic nature of your associates and friends.  But don't forget too that the biggest parasite in your life is your own shadow- self... the lower ego.  It is vampiric in that it survives on the light energy of your own soul and spirit. The impulse to die can be interpreted as ego- death.   Your teacher has asked " what are you doing? " Then you determine to be free [of the pull of the shadow- self] and take the leap of faith.

Re: The Vampire Plague, a la my disturbing dream

Graycats dream of zombies kind of got me thinking.  I have had some zombie dreams as well.  There also seems to be some sort of facination in humans of the idea of zombies which would explain why there are so many zombie movies.  Perhaps the zombie fear or vampire fear is communicating something deeper to us.  We are being shown through our dreams of zombies a metaphorical representation of how the Hive mind that is trying to take over peoples minds, spreading like a virus from person to person.  While in our dreams this is very dramatic while in the real world this is all taking place very subtle in your schools, places of work, churches, sporting events, movies, television, etc.  I know myself that in my lower times I have said with full conviction that I can take the struggle that is required to go against the grain, and vowed to just give in.  As soon as I come out of my funk though I am inspired even further to rise against the hive mind.

To discuss the vampire symbolgy; I see vampires as the knowing agents of the hive mind, where as the zombies are their unaware accomplices.  The vampires might be the Illuminati, or the extradimensional entities that exist just beyond our level of awareness, but close enough to our reality to feed on our very essence.  Perhaps these vampire dreams is that part of ourselves on the other side that is aware of the Extradimensional parasites communicating their existence to us through our dreams.

In my dreams of zombies it is always humans acting like they have no self control or self awareness.  They are completely controlled by either their animalistic natures or by an intelligent controller.      These dreams seem to be a message of the dangers of allowing the group think that has become so prevelent in the world today essentially gives us the status of zombies, completely at the whim of whoever wants to control us.  I think sometimes about the stories of the concentration camps during WW2 and how supposedly the camps were run in part by Jews who would cooperate in the masacre of their own people to gain status, and the favor of the Camp staff.  Its interesting to think how quickly we can lose our civilized and intelligent qualities when we become threatened or demanded to do something we know we should not do.  Perhaps this doing what you are told without question gives someone that same zombified state that we so much fear?

That quote struck me because in my own vampire dream people were getting the vampire plague because it was the fashionable thing to do, get infected and then start being able to jump off the walls and run as fast as a cheetah. Maybe we have such dramatic dreams of the Hive Mind so whoever is on the otherside working with/helping us can get the message to us loud and clear about the more 'subtle' Hive Mind in RL.

Montalk has mentioned in his writings that negs have less freewill than positive types. Or rather they have less freewill than they do, to me the vamps and zombies represent these negs and our suicides are like an excercise in the freewill we have and they don't. We can chose to die, they cannot and perhaps that is why towards the end of our dreams, the neg creatures seem to come out in greater numbers with this air of urgency. Because our greater freewill allows us to escape them and they know it.

Graycat, it's certainly rather spooky we have dreams with similar themes. Plus the fact that yours is a recurring dream ever since you were young... you dreamt of turning into a reptilian when you gave into peer pressure- did you even know about the reptilians when you first dreamt this dream?

Skin Walkers, wow.

'For Them To Live,
We Must Die.'

In the movie this might mean, the vampire kills the human to turn into another vamp. But I saw it too, as in the parasite killing the humanity in us. In order them to live, we (our humanity) must be eradicated.

sounds liek the vampure plague gives them an adrenaline rush?  A lot of people when faced with a fearful situation usually can overcome it somehow because their adrenaline starts rushing.   Maybe the vampire plague does something to their adrenaline levels that allows them to do such things.
