Topic: Betelgeuse - the movie

ever think about how Betelgeuse the movie may be related to Betelgeuse the star which is in the Orion star system, home to the lizzies and other negative forces.... much like Betelgeuse the movie ?

Never!  And I've seen the movie several times.  Liked it, in fact.  Very interesting, zonabi.

Re: Betelgeuse - the movie

I love the scene in the "Afterlife Waiting Room", with all those crazy Tim Burton characters waiting around to be processed with their number stubs in their hands.   I never thought much about any deeper hidden meaning behind the movie....although I did always wonder why they named it after the star, even if it is misspelled.     It is one of my all time favorite movies, and I love the Danny Elfman score, especially the opening song, where it's back and forth between the strings and the brass.   Great stuff!

There's a tremendous amount of esoteric and astrological symbolism to be found in films.  If you recall, at the beginning of "The Truman Show" with Jim Carrey, a lighting fixture crashes onto the roadway from the "sky" -- and on the side you can see it's labelled "Sirius."

Re: Betelgeuse - the movie

Everyone! rush to the internet and get the Danny Elfman score !!!!!

i love that 'song' also, or shall i say score. i dont thin ive ever actually referred to music from a movie as a score... wow.

cuz.. it isnt really a song... its... a score! lol

If you dig Danny Elfman's work he has several CD compilations of all his movie and animated short scores, called "Music For a Darkened Theater", volumes I, II and I'm sure they have volume III out by now as well.   Good stuff, it is.

Anyone remember Oingo Boingo? Elfman's band from the 80s?
PS     Is the name Elfman a tipoff to a hidden true nature?

"Just another day....just another day-ay-ay-ay-ay...just another day....just another day-ay-ay-ay......"    Yup!  I remember Oingo Boingo. wink

As far as his name goes.....not sure.   It's a cool name, I like it. smile   I just know I LOVE his work.   It kind of all has the signature "Elfman" sound, so, there's no mistaking an Elfman score, but it's still good stuff, unlike any other out there.    Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice, Men In Black and Batman are still my personal faves of his.
